Discussion of 8.06 "No Future for You Part 1" - Released 08/06/07 (Dark Horse)

just finished reading and think this is my fave issue so far although agree with some that I am not keen on how Faith is drawn.

Do feel dissapointed that Faith is seperated from everyone but then I suppose thats her character she is a loner. I keep forgetting she is on the run from Prison!
 
What I didn't get was this whole notion that Faith wants to quick slaying and give up this life forever, when Giles basically hinted at that being Faith's reward. I thought that despite everything the one thing that Faith enjoys about her life was slaying. I mean they made that whole point ever since Faith's introduction in Season Three of Buffy.
 
It's like what BEG pointed out earlier. When she comes home from slaying the vampire kids, she puts a stake through the wall. She didn't like the job. There's 5, or so holes in the wall before she makes that one. Her disapproval of whatever she's been asked to do is something that's been with her for awhile.

From her talk with Giles we know she gets asked to do the jobs nobody else wants to do. Giles offers her 3 things. He offers her money, freedom from the authorities, and freedom from the slayer organization. None of that means she will never slay again. It just means she's free from then on to do whatever she wants.
 
I liked this issue a lot I am excited to see where the story goes from here. (My issue 7 is in the mail!) I have to agree with everyone who did not like the way Faith was drawn. I don't know she looked a bit odd. I did love the Xander swim team shirt too Tranquillity and I loved Gile's Yellow Submarine sweater (Go Beatles) Overall I liked the issue.
 
I loved the issue. I thought the art was just fine. And I loved seeing a bit of the old Faith, stabbing Giles and all. I mean, I love the new Faith, back to normal and all but rogue Faith made things interesting, which is exactly why it is going to be freakin amazing her and the new rogue slayer. We will see some real badass Faith when she takes the rogue out. Well, we assume she will take her out. I just can't wait. But anyways, I thought it was great!
 
I finally got this issue today (along with issue 7 - thanks Comic Book Guy) and I don't normally bother about such fripperies as variant covers but my copy had the variant cover and I really wanted the proper cover...[sulk] Hah! [/sulk] The comic was dead good though 🙂
 
Loved it!! Thankfully I got the cool cover ^_^
Can't wait to see what happens next with Faith.
Glad to see she still is alive and kicking and not seeing Robin!!
Sad that they always give her the dirty jobs though, she should have stabbed Giles again!!
Haha, anyways, off to read the next one ^_^
 
First Reading!

Here we go again:

-Love that Faith is ruminating on Dr. Seuss! Also, nice to hear mention of her childhood. I've always wanted more backstory on her.
-Wow. The scene/panel (I'm not up on the comic lingo!) with Faith in that family's home is majorly depressing. My mommy heartstrings are tugging big time. 🙁
-What the HECK is Giles wearing?! Oh, my gosh!! Hahahahaha!
-Isn't it a little irresponsible to send the rehabilitated (kind of) murder slayer off to kill another human being? How can Giles, etc. be so sure it won't send her over the edge again?
-Um, graphic much with the Irish girl? *shudder*
-Yup, Faith is still having her flashbacks. And yay for Giles' tat making an appearance!
-Xander/Buffy punching bag scene - bahahahaha!! Ah, classic.
-Whoa, Faith boobies! Love Giles' quote at the end.

Well, we'll see how Faith does at undercover. Hopefully better than Buffy!
 
Just read this for the first time and really enjoyed it 😀 I thought they drew/painted Faith brilliantly! I kept thinking some of the Buffy art in the comics was a little off sometimes but Faith definatly looks like Faith and the dialogue is just right too! I can totally see in my head her saying that stuff lol 😀 What was up with Giles' jumper though?? 🙄 because he's english he has to wear a yellow submarine jumper, like he's a beatles fan or soemthing lol 😀 That Slayer was sooo bad and annoying 😡 Can't believe they got Faith in a dress though and acting sort of posh lol That was weird lol 😀
