Discussion of 8.23 "Predators and Prey" - Released 4/03/09 (Dark Horse)

Being a Spuffy Andrew's comment on Spike being better than Angel. Love. It. I do love Buffy and Andrew hanging out and that he is officially a part of the group. I found it very touching.

Faith vs. Simone. Would be awesome.

Andrew was great in this issue, but I really could deal with not having the "rogue" Slayers appear anymore. I'm over them.

Same, I think the rogue slayer story is a really predictable place to go after activating all the slayer.

I think I would prefer this kind of story if Faith was dealing with them, at least she could relate to them, be confronted by her past a bit even play with the idea of being tempted over.

But I guess their Buffy's responsibility to deal with, so it does make sense she's dealing with them.

Not a fan of this issue. Andrew was a highlight, yeah, Simone was dumb. As others have said, the "rogue Slayer" concept is tired, and it's been done, several times over. There was also such a large gap between this issue and the last time Simone appeared that it was confusing deciphering just who exactly she was. I agree with @Black Eyed Guy that Faith would have been a much better choice for the lead here.

Also, why exactly did Buffy just allow Simone to hang around and basically annex these people's homes? She has 1800 Slayers supposedly at her command. Simone has 15. Why is she letting her go? Simone is basically everything wrong with what Buffy did and why the world is scared of Slayers. She's a huge problem. Buffy just made a monumental leadership error.
