We're writing in a forum and are fans of a show that many things on it are supernatural. So that made me wonder if you believe in supernatural, or at least some supernatural things: ghosts, witches, spells and magic, superpowers, special abillities like mind reading and moving things with your mind, even vampires and demons, etc?

Yes, I believe in Sam Winchester.

Oh, wait, that's not what you...never mind.

😉

In all seriousness, I've lived with a ghost for the past 16 years. It's really hard for me not to believe in at least some aspects of the supernatural.

Really? Could you go into detail?

I was going to write I believed in Dean haha!
No. I don't believe in ghosts, witches, mystical powers or any of that stuff. Not at all.
And I'm also in no way superstitious. So Friday the 13th for example is something completely normal to me.

But I really can't say that ghosts don't exist. I don't believe they do, but nobody can actually proof the opposite... in a scientific way of course.

But no, I don't.

Pretty much believe in telepathy and such stuff, probably ghosts too. Not ruling out the possibility of magic, either.

Vampires, werewolves and demons? Not so much.

I've not had personal experiences of ghosts, but a lot of people have which inclines me to think there is something to it. The only reason I think I don't see ghosts and many others don't is that we close ourselves to that realm because we like to feel in control of things. As for other abilities such as telepathy, there are many cases of people who have near-death experiences, Out of body experiences who then seem to have some ability to move outside of the here and now moment to some extent, seeing the future, being in different places etc..

Colin Wilson has wrote loads of books documenting the facts about these kind of things and went from a staunch scientist to believing in the supernatural. My only personal experience of this kind of thing is that I can sometimes sense tension in an atomosphere or I can sense I am about to find myself in a tense atomosphere and so be prepared for it, but I think most people have this level of "super-sensory" ability but we just take it for granted.

Some of my family members claim to have seen ghosts, so I kinda believe in the supernatural, still waiting for something like that to happen to me before I believe in it fully though.

I really WANT to believe in supernatural things but I'm the type of person who needs proof...so no I don't believe :-(

Oh and @Lyri I totally believe in the Winchesters 🙂

Is anyone else having an X-files fan moment with all the 'I want to believe' comments? Just me?

As for me personally, I'd say there's a small part of me that does believe. On the subject of ghosts anyways. I had some rather creepy and disturbing moments during childhood that I can't logically explain. But after so many years the memories start to get hazy and the belief starts to fade.

I don't believe in any of the other things listed though.

I believe in spirits/ghosts, and possibly magic and telepathy.
My twin flame Brittney has had lots of personal experience with spirits in her house - as well as my friend Danielle, who lives rather close to a graveyard, and sometimes can hear voices wafting around the room.

With vampires, demons, and werewolves? No, but it would be kind of cool to have them exist, I'd like to stake a vampire one day 😛

Tillow4ever agrees: Really? Could you go into detail?

I suppose I could, lol.

Our ghost is a young boy called Ben, who died in our house in the early 1900's. He's really quite young, as he likes to play pranks, and he likes playing with our dog. She can sense him, and they play together around the dining table. Ben likes opening all the doors in our house and slamming them all at once, and we can hear him running up and down the stairs sometimes. He hides things a lot, but as soon as we ask for them back, out loud, they'll be there. We can also feel him sitting on the end of ours beds at night, too. He never seems to bother with my parents much, which I used to think was odd, but I would have been the around the same age as he was when we first moved in here, and my brother and sister were younger than that, so maybe he just felt more comfortable around us.

It never really bothered me much, Ben was always just there. My dad has always believed in ghosts, ever since the day my parents brought me home from hospital when I was born and he saw a man in an orange jump suit standing over my crib, who then just vanished, so they just accepted it for what it was. It's not like Ben is evil, he's just a kid who likes playing games, and if he's not hurting anyone, why should we worry about it?

...Wow
Yes I do. My grandmas old house was "haunted" by my grandfather and a lady. Neither one was bad, and neither one ever did anything but be nice to us. Several people have seem them, heard them, our felt them including myself.

My grandma still tells us though, if you hear someone calling your name and no one is around, don't answer cause it's a shilup (a ghost) and they will steal you away (not in a bad way, like hurt you, but call you away to them...it's kinda hard to describe)

I've heard of that legend. I remember someone telling me about it as a child, and it's always stuck with me.

Oh, and aside from the ghost, I read Tarot. I haven't done it in YEARS, but I still have my cards and although I might be a bit rusty, I could prolly still knock out a reading. I don't believe Tarot can tell the future, though. I just think it's a useful tool to use to guide you through certain situations.

Yes. I believe in the supernatural 😀 guess I'm the only one lol

Didn't even consider mentioning Tarot, I got several decks too (including one I made, myself, in '91). Tarot, to me, is just tapping into one's own subconscious for answers with the help of archetypical picture associations, so I don't really rate it as supernatural... it's closer to applied Jungian psychology than to parapsychology, for me. 🙂

Besides, it's been a handful of years for me, too, that I read the cards the last time.

I've always believe in the supernatural, my family is very spiritual. My great uncle is a healer and has had experiences with ghosts, his grandson is now seeing spirits too.

For me up until last year I had never had a supernatural experience, until my great aunt died last July. She was very spiritual and was never afraid of death. The night she died I actually had a strange dream and to me personally it felt like she was visiting me, she just looked at me from a distance. Before I knew I had woken up, then the night before her funeral I was half asleep and felt someone move my hair. It didn't frighten me, to me it was my aunt's was saying goodbye. My mum and I had even had strange noises coming from our loft and as soon as the funeral was over it all stopped. We've not had anything since. I have had another dream about my aunt and strangely enough she was asking about my mum and I've just realised what that meant.

I love watching shows like Destination Truth and Ghost Hunters, it used to scare me but since it all happened it doesn't now. Not the biggest believer in Most Haunted though, I think that show is fixed. Plus all the screaming really annoys me.
