When the Beast called Faith weak, and that there was no real power in her, u could tell that it bothered her, and that she believed it, what do u guys think? I don't think she is weak, or even was for that matter, in btvs season 3: She was pretty close to smackin B down, and it was only on a lucky shot that B stabbed her, besides, shes been through some stuff, as Joss makes apparant, so I dont think shes weak, and I dont think she's a victim, I think she's a survivor.

Yup. I pretty much agree.
It was just his way to shake her up, and to try to get her to let her guard down. And I totally agree with the survivor statement. Good point.

It was probably just something to annoy her, although perhaps the Beast was reffering to the whole FE/Slayer-line plot.

The beast knew that saying that would bother her. Faith has always been jealous of Buffy. Buffy's the strong one. The leader. The poular one etc.

Even though Faith is just as strong (if not more so), living in the shadow of Buffy would have given her some issues. Telling her she's weak would bring these issues to the surface again. But I personally think that would make her stronger. trying to prove people wrong.

Do you understand what Im trying to say here?

ya totally, thats what i thought too, Faith is the type of person that is always tryin to prove people wrong, and in the end it makes herself stronger..im like that..lol i love proving people wrong, it keeps 'em guessin..but thats not the issue, See the thing that bothered me was, i thought the beast never met buffy, so was he comparing her to other slayers or just tryin to boil her blood?

He didnt compare her to other slayers. (I dont think) He just called her weak.

I could be completely wrong about this btw. Its late, and I havent seen series 4 in a long time.

I think the beast was able to pick up that faith was holding back.. Faith has been trying to keep herself undercontrol for so long and then all of a sudden she is supposed to just let loose and kick some ass.. I think she was more afraid of letting herself go than the beast, she didnt want to loose herself because she didnt think she would be able to stop.. because at the end of the day as much as i love faith she is still a murderer she is taking massive strides to rehabilitation but as Angel said way back in S3 buffy she has a taste for it now..

Did that make any sense 2 anyone?

My thoughts exactly!
Welll..Buffy and Faith had the same amount of powers..so you can't really judge that..but in ways Buffy was stronger becaus she had family..and she seemed to be a better fighter..faith seemed to be only be able to fight out of frustration..if that makes sense..but yes he said it to piss her off.

While I do think that the Beast was just trying to beat her down emotionally, make her second guess herself..he was right in a sense. Faith HAD been weak. She'd gone the easy route, left the moral high ground, and turned to the dark side. The dark side is always the easier choice. 😉

But she overcame it, which she MORE than proved in later seasons of both Buffy and Angel.

Did the Beast know about this? Who knows. I'm thinking probably yes. W&H was aware of it..so I wouldn't put it past the Beast knowing.

i think you guys are reading too much into this

the beast said she was weak not because of some deeper meaning but because the slayer is so feared in the demon world and since this is the first time he fought one(appearant by his dialogue) he was dissapointed, understandable because he was far stronger then faith , and thus far stronger then the slayers everyone seemed to fear

I dunno who will agree or disagree with this but I always think that Faith was probably stronger than Buffy, it was just bad luck for her getting stabbed, I think because all she had was the slaying she put more into it.
The beast was just trying to wind her up, I mean yeah to him she was weak, but anyone that fought him was weak compared to him.

I think that in some senses Faith is stronger than Buffy, yet in other ways, Buffy is stronger. Buffy cares more about her friends and family, which gives her strength, while Faith's philosophy is live fast, die young, which makes her strong, since she expects nothing else from her life, so she throws everything at it.

He may have never met buffy but cordy had and therefore jasmine knew so she could have easily told the beast all of faiths history

Faith, in a sense, IS weak. She's obviously disturbed and has a troubled life, but I also think she's strong. She's VERY strong physically and her issues push her to win and inflict pain on her enemies, and in "Angel" she's strong enough to realize that she needs help, and to ask for it.

This is why we need a show called "Faith, the Vampire Slayer"! A Faith spin-off could go really in-depth with her and it would be fascinating, I think. And hot. I mean, it IS Eliza Dushku. Plus the show would probably even be darker than "Angel" was which would be awesome.

i agree faith has never been weak. It seems to me like sometimes Faith is stronger than buffy. I think when she came back into it in season 4 of angel she went a bit soft for angel and wesley. But angel helped her so i get why she did.

she not weak but she changed when she came out she wont acting like a killer she was acting like a slayer.

Physically, in some ways I think Faith can be stronger than Buffy, but more through a desperation-born strength. As evidenced in her early performances, Faith wasn't very stable, and even when she was acting all tough, was usually hiding alot of damage. Like when she's trying to coax Angel into killing her in season 1. Buffy on the other hand, has internal strength of character, which allows her to keep doing the right thing, even as in her last season, she gets kicked OUT OF HER OWN HOUSE DURING A FRIGGIN APOCALYPSE and ends up being the one who gets the Superslayerginzuaxepokiething.

Faith is weak in the sense that, until near the end of the Buffy season, she still had alot of mistrust, doubt and would always compare herself to otherpeople, rather than standing on her own merits.

After Faith and Buffy reconcile though, she became a much stronger person.
