Do you like what you see when you look in the mirror?

Oddly enough my features resemble my mother as well; according to her though when I lose my temper I look like the spitting image of my biological father.

Anyone who makes a Larry reference will be strangled. Forgive the tie; my buddy got no say on the groomsmen outfits for his wedding.

This.

Here's a side profile of me with my beautiful little lady.

That.

I agree with Buffyheaven!
Spikefan31 agrees: You look pretty in your Twitter avatar pic thingy
I completely skipped over that rep comment because I had several others when I clicked... but Thank you Emily!!!! That night was the first night I straightened my hair in a really long time, it was growing out... I think it was May or something... anyway it looked really good. That's one of my favorite pictures of me EVER actually...

Here it is for those of you who don't follow me on twitter.

You look like one of my best friends!
Yes. I'm very comfortable in my face and body. I think I'm hot and beautiful.

I also don't really see anyone as "ugly." I mean, yeah there are a couple people, but mostly people I know and my opinion of them has warped my opinion of their appearance. Overall, I think most people are at least not bad to look at. No one should dislike what they see in the mirror.

Can live with it, could be one helluva lot worse. My main complaint is more on the genetic level (you know, the XY where that pesky Y could be a nice second X instead :sigh🙂, but for a body flooded with testosterone, I do still look pretty decent. (Indeed, before my hair decided to start letting my forehead continue on to the top of my head, I've got held for a girl when shaved. 😀) Of course, I definitely do not like to look at my pelvic area in the nude, and don't like anyone else to look at, let alone touch that thing if I can help it at all.

Besides, I'm probably one of the fattest peeps on here, but also one of the most relaxed about it. Actually, fat is good, it gives me natural boobs (see above why my well-padded chest clearly is one of the areas I like most about myself. (sw))

"Before my hair decided to start letting my forehead continue on to the top of my head..." lol! :)
It makes me sad that so many of you aren't happy about yourself because of your weight. I used to have a eating disorder, and believe me, nothing good comes from focusing on things like that.

Well.. Earlier.. I never thought I was fat, and I never thought about how much I weight. Until my evil, ugly cousin told me that I was enormous, and that hurt my feelings. So I started a diet and lost a couple of kilos.. and then she saw me again and she was like "Oh, don't even try to lose weight, you are just fat". I seriously had enough (that happened this summer), since them I've lost 15 kg and I'm still on a diet, working out every day, counting the calories.. JUST because I want to prove that I can reach my ideal weight.
And I'm obsessed with counting calories, working out, eating healthily. So I know how hard it is. Last time I really, really ate candy was in April.
So yeah.. I'm not happy about my weight at all..

Your cousin is a total bitca for saying this!

aw, sweetie, I'm sorry. What a jerk your cousin are for saying something like that! I get really worried when I read this. It doesn't sound very healthy what you are doing and not like you're very happy doing it. It's almost never a good idea to do something just to prove something to someone else.
I'm sure you could reach that weight your aiming for, the question is just if it's worth it. I would say NO. and the problem is, usually when people have reached that goal they have they set a new goal for themselves and then it just goes downhill from there. Working out are supposed to be about being healthy and strong, not something that are connected with not feeling good enough. Please be careful and take care of yourself. You deserve better than this. Hugs!

It's good that you have a goal, and that you're strong enough to do what you had put your mind into. But you shouldn't put up with that kind of bullying. People who try to hurt you are usually unsatasfied with themselves, and actually they are ones who need help.

First - ignore turds who are jerks about your looks. They always exist - and they're always worthless. I'm sure everyone here has gotten rude comments from someone in their life, it's not worth paying attention to them. If you want to lose weight - do it for yourself, not for anyone who's that rude.

Second - I know I'm not perfect, or super good looking - but I'm content with my appearance. I'm a slightly underaverage height, slightly overaverage weight bearded dude. And...I'm okay with that. Here's me dressed super awesome and clearly, I'm the guy on the right 😉

No offense, but the dude on the left totally stole that picture. He's adorable.
No, i'd change everything about me. It's gotten to that stage, i think i look worse with makeup on sometimes.
Britt, i'm in the same boat as you were. With the 'loathing self'
I clearly donot like ANYTHING about my looks or personality. I always compare myself to other people, then i get depressed. Some girls are just so perfect and they don't even know how lucky they are.

I wish i was thinner, i wish i could actually see my cheek bones for once, i wish my body was in porpotion. My boobs are too big for my frame, it's horrible. I'm not even close to being fat fat, i could stand to lose half a stone i think.

Maybe i really do over exaggerate, people know what i'm like. Always never happy with myself. 😛 But yeah i'm working on it...

Just wish i could be comfortable with myself for once.

I think a lot of people aren't as bad as they think they are. Most of us see things others can't, or bothered by things that others don't notice.

Like others have said I will advised you to ignore your cousin.

But most of all I would like to beg of you to be very very careful. I've gone down that road you're on right now and it is a slippery slope...
"Ideal" weights are never a good idea, try to find a comfort in your physique instead because fixating on a number will take you to bad places (reaching it will not solve much because then you will be obsessed with keeping it...)

I don't want to sound preachy here, I sure hope it doesn't come across as such, but as someone who went through that and ended locked up in a hospital, a mere 60Ibs to my 5''7 with an IV in my arm and a threat of a tube being put into my heart I can only say that there's no good in the fixation of weight.
I'm still struggling with it. Ten years later! And it has taken my body nearly as long to recouperate from the damage of excessive training and too low a calorie intake I put it through.

So tread carefully and focus on a well-being feeling inside rather than what you see in the mirror... it will lie to you and hormonally speaking your body goes through natural weight changes that may seem 'major' one day to the next.

Wow that turned lenghty, it just pains me to hear people go through that because it is such an unhealthy state that I wouldn't even wish on my worst enemy

My goodness! All you guys with a history of eating disorders, I'm so proud of you for coming through it. I know eating disorders are tough. I've never had one, but my sister has... I know how they effect those around you too... so a pat on the back to you and your friends and families for that. Go you!

Few days ago I've read this interesting article in the Croatian edition of Cosmopolitan.

Columnist was writing about how people find ofensive calling fat people fat, but they have no problem with calling skinny people anorexic or disgusting. So, that really interested me, and it's really true. I found myself talking about skinny people saying 'God, this girl is so skinny, it's disgusting' or 'She's think like a twig, it looks like she's going to break down'. And when talking about someone who's overweight we use words like big boned, big sized.. something that is not rude. That is really not right. I have some friends who are really skinny, and not by choice. They eat like an elephant, and can't get fat! So, I was thinking about how many people get teased about being fat.. but how many people get teased about being skinny?

I have a friend who's just built like a twig. She said it used to offend her, but now she just ignores it.

I've had stages in life where I thought the word 'anorexic' was a copliment as opposed of the word 'fat'. I've seen it as a good thing. Really sad, I know.

Not sad, even I had those thoughts. When I had hit puberty, I was praying to God so he can make me anorexic. I never found it beautiful, but I have found it better than the situation I'm in. When I saw pictures of girls who are truly anorexic, and heard some stories over the tv, I thought 'What the hell was I thinking?'. There are people who can't get fat, and those people have an explanation.. but there are people who won't get fat, and it's really not pleasant to see 20 year old woman with a weight of 10 year old girl.

Everybody says how anorexic SMG is. Yes, she is very thin. But you can tell she's not an anorexic. there are no bones showing, she's energetic, looks healthy and not like a skeleton. It proves that you CAN be thin, even very thin, without being anorexic. Sarah is just doing the right things: eating healthy and exercising.

But I found living healthy is very hard. Doing that for your entire life is just depressing. To me anyways.

I agree. I hear people calling SMG anorexic very often, and I don't see her as anorexic. Yes, she is thin, and she's small.. she's really tiny in general.

Oh yes, it can be depressing. Life full of rules. It's hard when you want to take on piece of chocolate and know you can't.. then you want it even more. I guess celebreties got used to that kind of life because they're monitored 24/7.. we know if we gain few kg's more the whole world is not going to know about it..

Thats nice to hear. I'm about as thin as SMG and reading some of the comments on BB about how anorexic, unattractive and sick SMG looks have made me feel so much more insecure than I already did.
It really bothers me when people decide to go on a diet not because they want to, but because they had hurtful comments. It really makes me mad against those who just have nothing better to do than critisize and mess with people. Damned them!
It's because of people like that I had a complex with my hair for a long time (and with my body, period).

Now, I just don't care about what those useless people think! And it's a great feeling to think "I got over them, they can't reach me anymore. Gnihahaha *evil laugh*"

As everyone starts putting their pictures, I follow the move like a perfect little sheep.
http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n492/MsTrick/Photodu74056885-12-2034.jpg

I've got bushy hair. I've got a baby face. But heck! (I put a webcam picture because my webcam has that fantastic power to make me look a bit better than I actually am, it hides that I look like a mix between a junkie and a baby, haha)

I used to be a very sensitive person back then. I was very thin (today i've gained a little weight due to the fact that I've injured my leg and can't longer do sports), but every comment, not about my look, it hurt me a lot and I'd get really depressed. In the past years I've come to grow some extra skin and even when called bad names, even about my weight, I feel nothing. a little mad, but I won't be offended and taken everything personally.
