Mine is Randi. Randi Dawn. I get it from my father's middle name (Randolph) and my mother's first name (Donna). And I LOVE it. Except for one thing. Every once in awhile, someone will feel the need to tell me what "randy" means in England. Yes. I know. This was especially awkward in 9th grade when my principal felt the need to tell me this. Ew.
The only other thing I don't like is that my dad's family calls him "Randy" because his name is David, and his dad was also David, and I get confused....people shout out "Randi" and when I answer, they say "not you, your dad!" And I get mail a lot for "Mr. Randi ......"
Other than that, though, I love it. All my friends call me Randi or Randi Ann, but my family calls me Randi Dawn. Another funny side note about my name (going back to the fact that it's my dad's middle name).... My name is Randi. I am my dad's second child. His name is David Randolph. He was his father's second child. His father's name was Clark David. Kinda cool, huh? The second kiddo takes the parent's middle name as their first. Except I'm not gonna have a Dawn or Don....
My son's name is Dylan Thomas. I LOVE his name. Everyone pretty much pronounces it correctly (Dylan is like Jakob Dylan, who is the son of Bob Dylan, also spelled Dillon), but one lady really made me mad one time when she mis-prounced it. It was when he was about 2 weeks old, and we had to go back to the hospital for a test. She called out his name as "Die-lan" instead of "Dill-on" over the intercom and then started laughing to her friend about what kind of lady names her kid "Die-lan." I was standing right there. And I then proceeded to correct her.
