Personally, I think Willow used too much magic just to get revenge on Warren. Johnathan and Andrew didn't do a damn thing to Tara. I think Willow should have thought twice before she went to go to the deep end. What do you guys think?

Ermmm, she'd 'gone off the deep end' the second she killed Warren.
Was she right in killing, heck no, but can she be forgiven for wanting revenge, totally. She was in incredible pain, and believe me, when that amount of pain befalls you, nothing seems wrong to gain some relief, some perspective.

Yeah. It's just that I don't think it was a good idea for her to kill Warren. That was murder

Willow overracted... she did go too far.. but Warren did deserve some sort of punishment.. just not what Willow had in mind as mentioned below
I hope you don't think that i believe that.
I think what she did was terrible, BUT i can understand why she wanted to do it...only thing was she had the means and ability to do it.
Remember its not actually Logical Willow driving that Body, its hurt grieving Willow.

And grief does make peopple do some pretty whacky things I know. Like Al i think what Willow did was bad nut she was going through something terrible and powerful and she was hurting so deeply. I understand why she did it and if it had been me in her place I would've done the same thing. Grief is an exteremly powerful emotion that changes people usually gor the worse.

Of course it was murder and of course it was wrong, that's kind of the point. Willow went way too far. In fact, she did that many times this season, not only when killing Warren. We can still love Willow though, and we can forgive her if we want to "“ but the important thing isn't exactly how wrong it was or if Warren deserved it or not, but what it did to Willow. Which is where this becomes interesting..

The thing with Willow in this Season is that we see her descent from using Magic responsibly to using it too much and getting addicted to using Magic. Willow was out of control in so many parts of this Season, she rarely knew what she was doing, Drug addicts do a lot of things under the influence of drugs, that hurt themselves and the ones they love, I think this was Joss's way of showing this but by using Magic.

Yes Willow went too far, but she was already quite far gone and Tara was her reason for coming off magic and living normally, with Tara gone Willow had no reason to live, and so she did the only thing that came naturally to her and that was to seek vengence for Tara's death. I sometimes try to think about it like Willow was so far gone and so taken over by grief that the Willow we know and love was pushed far down under the surface, and the magic addicted Willow came flooding back and with it the dark magics from the books.

I agree with Al and Summer's blood, Willow was not herself and Warren had gone too far with what he did so his actions pushed Willow over the top, Tara's death was the last straw. It was lovely to see Xander help her in the end though not that any of the others did..but that is my personnal gripe. They must of had their reasons, Willow all black eyed scary...

yea Willow went too far i mean she killed a person but she did it because the person she loved had just been killed and when you lose someone you love sometimes the pain is just too much to bare and when there is someone responsible for it you wanna do something sbout it.when Tara died the magiks just took over her,her pain, sadness and the feeling of wanting revenge was strong and the magiks used this as a portal to escape and come to the surface, and because of these emotions she was feeling, she was too weak to fight them off and kind of didnt want to.

after that portal of releasing her magiks got opened it was really hard to close especially because she was running off of pure revenge and that is one of the hardest emotions to control, then she took in all the magiks from the magic shop and that made her lose herself and perspective on everything even more,so it was just too hard for her to come back as there was more magik controlling her than her actual self controling everything that she was doing, which led to her killing Warren.

willows heart took over her head..... her powers esculating out of control her loss overwhelming her... we cant blame her.... love is powerfull...... loss..... so painfull if i was in her possition prob would have done the same myself....

Well... I know how much anger I want to vent when something happens... and sometimes I just want to punch a whole in the wall.. I am human.. Willow is a powerful witch... I'm suprised the earth was still there.. lol.. she loved Tara and love can make you do the whacko.... yes I think Willow went too far.. I mean she mudered a guy! But I think you could forgive Willow considering Warren was a baddie after all.. just because he is human doesnt mean he can't be punishment.. what Willow did was wrong.. but Warren did something wrong also.. and that is why I was willing to forgive Willow... she was mourning...

I don't think she was doing much thinking to be honest and I think she acted rightly in killing warren, and johnathen/andrew did deserve punishment, but definetly not the kind she had in mind.

The whole Season arc kind of bugged me this season really. In my opinion 'She was grieving and she was upset and she wasn't really herself' isn't a strong enough excuse to justify what she did and the fact that she commited murder. I think Warren deserved to die, yes, but it was not her place to carry out that sentence herself. As Buffy has said before, he was human, Tara died at the hands of a human, the laws of Buffy's world don't apply, it wasn't up to her whether he should die or not.

Yes, Willow WASN'T herself then, but just because she is mourning does not mean she can have a free reign to do what she likes. I think it's annoying that people were so quick to forgive Willow for what she did. I'm not even talking about Warren. She nearly killed Dawn, she practically tortured Giles, mentally hurt them all, messed with their minds and erased their memories, messed with Tara completely, left Buffy to die, and hurt Xander and it all was her fault. People like to sidestep around the fact that it was in fact all her fault in the end. She was being an idiot long before Tara died, that was just fuel to the fire. You can't say she should be forgiven because the magic had overcome her, when it was HER fault that she did magic in the first place. She was the one, her alone got hooked on magic. Just like any drug addict.

She was insecure, she needed a place to fit in, she found magic, she found her place in the group. She did a few spells, she found Tara, she found who she really was, she gained power and she was happy. She went too far, that was her price to pay. She knew what she was getting into with magic, she had been given many warnings by her friends the whole way along and she chose to ignore them. So I can't say I feel much sympathy for her at all really when it comes to her addiction. She messed up, her friends offered support, she shunned them and she hurt them and I wouldn't forgive so easily. Yes she is human and everyone makes mistakes and she regreted it, and deserves to be forgiven but I think she got cut a lot of slack because she was Willow, cute, adorable Willow. If it had been any other character in the show, except maybe Buffy herself and at a stretch Xander, they would not have accepted what she had done so easily. Do you think if it was Anya or Tara that all the gang would have been so understanding? I don't think so.

I think she went way too far over the entire season, and got let off way too lightly. I love the season, I love the concept of addiction and how Joss explores it, I just hate how the gang seem to have a kind of double standard when this happens and I think it's solely because she is Willow. She did wrong. They are no excuses, she should have payed the price a lot more than she seemed to.

I think she acted rightly in killing warren.

Sorry to disagree but it wasn't up to her to decide what kind of punishement warren deserved...even though he definitely deserved one!
Like a lot of you have said this wasn't our willow who was acting but the magics...I think it was interesting to see how she reacted...I mean her feelings completely changed her and it' s understandable...what would you do in the same situation?...
The thing is that I think that she kinda wanted to become Darkwillow...That way she could be leaded only by her feelings and do exactly what she wanted whithout being annoyed by the consequences of her acts...
So yes, willow went too far...

I, personally, find nothing wrong in Willow taking vengeance on Warren. I would do the same, were I ever in that situation.

willow rules no matter what , she did deserve ehr vengence as anya was going to go to her but willow wanted to do it herself. willows story in this season ruled tara and willow were a greatstory line a majour reason why i watched it 😀

Of course she didn't go too far. She was grieving, and I agree that I would have done the same 😛. She had the access to the power, so why not take it? He might of not even gone to jail if she had not turned dark. What kind of vengeance is that? 😀.
