OMG I would never be able to choose between Doyle and Wesley! I loved them both and was sooooo sad when they killed Doyle off. I was happy that they brought Wesley in to replace him, though, and grew to love him even more as the Season wore on. Whose heart didn't break when the demon inside the little boy in "I've Got You Under My Skin" started bringing up those memories about Wesley's dad?" 🙁 Awww... And watching Doyle and Cordelia just before he jumped...

Can y'all tell I'm a sucker for the heartwrenching drama? LOL
 
Ooh the poll is close! But I have to go with Doyle. After a point Wesley's character got rather old and kinda irritating.. Not sure when or what it was but eh.
 
Just so people know, we're only supposed to be discussing and voting on Doyle and Wesley season 1.

Other wise this would be unfair.

I am shocked Doyle isn't winning under that set of rules.
 
I think I may even like Season 1 Wesley better than Doyle. I love the episode where he has to preform an exorcism but where he really shines is in the two Faith episodes.
 
I can consider Wesley in EVERY season of EITHER show and I still prefer Doyle... Doyle was such a great character with so much potential for future seasons and they went and killed him off. BIG mistake in my opinion. I realize that Cordy wouldn't have her visions but honestly they could have found another way. Something else. Like that aspect of the demon deal...

Well, I do like Wesley and his character really grew in Angel but Doyle was just... I loved him! He was funny and cute and I almost cried when he died. :bluesad:
So definitely Doyle!
 
Well, they both rock but in different ways. Wes is totally dorky but sweet. He has quite a few laugh-out-loud moments in S1.
Yet, Doyle was Doyle, you know/ He was smart, a reat tart, and cute if I do say so myself. I loved his smile. I wish we could have had more of him. And he was a true hero. 🙂

Wes is one of my very favorite Buffyverse characters, so I guess I'm bias.

Too hard. I couldn't choose.
 
Doyle was my favourite. I cried when he died, even though he was only in it for a few episodes. 🙁
Oh and I would have liked to have seen a proper relationship between him and Cordelia : erm :
 
I voted Doyle. He was only in 9 ep. but he's one of my fav. characters... Of course, that doesnt mean i didnt like Wesley... actually, i loved Wesley in this season 🙂
 
Even just talking season one, I have to go with Wes. Doyle is good too, but I'm a big fan of the Rogue Demon Hunter. Even on Buffy when we were supposed to hate Wesley, I liked him. Alexis Denisof is just too good in the comedic moments to dislike Wesley.
 
Actually, I have always been a bigger fan of the Angel/Cordelia/Doyle dynamics. I noticed that the Angel/Cordelia/Wesley dynamics were not that hot to me. And I could see why they had to add Charles to the cast to give the show more zip.
 
I totally fell in love with Doyle's blue eyes, but sadly I just noticed in the fifth episode- and then he died! And Cordelia also just began to find him interesting... but he decided to rescue them all and die... zzz
 
I forever will be a Doyle fan....I fell in love with him from the start, he was such a great character. He had a great personality and brought a lot of humor to the show. Don't get me wrong I liked wes but Doyle just had that thing about him....
 
In S1? Doyle, hands down, he was dark and funny, not easy to pull off. I've always been a Wes fan, even in Buffy I thought he was hilarious. If the vote was expanded throughout the entire series, I'd have to go for Wes, but S1 Wes vs. S1 Doyle, and it's definitely Doyle.

Wes barely even contributed in S1 from a in-story POV, he added character dynamic, but wasn't a great help to the team like he became later on. In the end, Wes honed all of his abilities and became a real champion (early S5), but in S1 he was just a mess.
