I just had the weirdest Buffy-related dream. It's probably gonna make very little sense at all to you reading it, but if nothing else, it serves well to illustrate the complex "level jumps" and weirdo details typical of my dreams sometimes. Feel free to go all Freud on the ramblings of my psyche if you want, lol.
At the start, I'm in a bleak apartment watching an ep of Buffy so chaotic and sloppily written that I can't follow at all what's happening, so I research the prices of beer and whiskey in local pubs in the internet (strangely enough, pubs were auctioning their beverages off ebay in the dream) for two guys I have IRL not seen in years, and writing the prices down on the walls with ball point pens I constructed from loose parts lying around on the floor. Then, the episode catches my attention better, as there's a great twist: Andrew turns out to be the (hypnotized!?) toadie of the Big Bad of the Season (an unknown demon somewhat resembling The Master), and is given super powers as the result of this - he can change into "Igor Form" (yes, it was called that :lmao: ), when he looks like a demonic monkey, talks with a very distorted voice and is able to perform feats of jumping and wall-clinging resembling Spiderman. The Big Bad then gives Andrew the task to infiltrate a vampire outpost, some kind of mix between a temple and a fortress, which looks like right out of some PC fantasy game and is hewn into the rocks of a mountain side. Andrew dresses up in a full-body suit of armor typical of those vampire temple warriors and goes in unnoticed, but worries about an amulet he's wearing, some kind of cross, which constantly gives off a slight sound, a mix of hiss and bell-jingle...
Change to a scene where Giles, Willow and a couple of other people are stuck in some weird parallel universe where medieval humans are caught in a war with demons who have WW1 artillery. Giles and Willow are lying on a big stretcher being drawn by horses over a battleground where lots of scared and/or grieving humans are bustling about, and Willow says something like "boy, I messed up big this time, didn't I?", then a grenade shell explodes close to them, not hurting them but hurling strange bricks of earth and horse poo into the air, which land on Willows belly.
Change to another scene; in the Bronze, Tara and Anya are sitting on a table with Willow and try to cure her from her magic addiction by putting little enchanted gemstones on her forehead and eyes. Then they all (including a lot of highschool or college age students who seem to be "Scoobies in training", but not Potentials, as a number of them are male) are sitting in a dark school room late at night, probably some kind of science class, where they magically project a movie to the wall that shows chaotic scenes of Willow screwing things up by getting lost in magic abuse. Willow gets all freaked up and stumbles, babbling, among the tables, staring wide-eyed at the movie projection and trying to talk about what she sees to the other people, but no one answers her.
Meanwhile, on a hill outside the school, The Trio are coming, trying to infiltrate that Scooby-in-training group. Ridiculously enough, for infiltration they have dressed up like middle-aged ladies with big hats and long dresses that look very similar for the three of them, except for color (Warren's is red, Andrew's green and Jonathan's blue). The most ridiculous thing is that Jonathan wears an obviously fake black beard (Santa size) with his dress. They try to make their way into the school to find the science class where Willow's weird "intervention" movie is taking place, but they get caught by principal Flutie before that who asks them what they are doing on school grounds at night. In this discussion with Flutie, The Trio temporarily change into little boys 7 or 8 years old (a total rip-off effect from an ep of "Scrubs" I have seen a couple of days ago... 😀 ). Suddenly, I am no longer watching the scene as TV audience, but am now in it, being Andrew. Warren comes up with some idiotic alibi for us being there, I don't remember what it was, but it was so silly that Jonathan immediately starts shaving off his fake beard because he's sure Flutie won't fall for it for a second. But strangely enough, Flutie "allows for doubt" and offers to lead us to the science class, to see if something is indeed happening there, but threatening detention for the three of us if nothing is going on in it.
We indeed get to the science room, where now the group of Scoobs and trainees are sitting around a big table, discussing things. Flutie starts to lecture them about the school grounds being off limits at night, and we drag queen Trio guys are hiding behind him. Suddenly, it's no longer an episode happening, but an episode being produced - it's obvious we're all actors, and I'm aware that I'm playing Andrew. I talk to a Scoob-in-training (a late teenage boy looking, strangely enough, a bit like a younger Joss Whedon) and botch my line by making a not-in-the-script pun about a cat-like "Death Hiss". I try to pull myself together to get the scene done properly, but suddenly, in the middle of a long winded rant by Flutie about science vs. magic, throwing about lots of philosophical big words and historical theories, most people leave the room, and only Flutie, me and two other people (a boy and a girl, both Scoobs-in-training) remain. As a totally unexpected twist, Flutie now outs himself as the real Big Bad of the Season and tells of his plan to create an army of super-vampires, by injecting humans with a serum distilled from the blood of Adam (there sure is major Season-jumping in this dream, I guess... :lmao: ), who would have all of the powers but none of the weaknesses (fire, sunlight, stakes) of regular vampires. My script calls for acting all shocked and saying: "But they would be unstoppable, unkillable, even undetectable until you have their goddamn fangs in your neck!" However, I botch the line again, saying "their neck in your teeth" instead. I am very annoyed that I can't seem to get anything right today and start cussing. The production of the scene gets interrupted here to have a break to get our concentration back up.
Together with the remaining cast members of the scene I go get something to eat; the school in the dream now is definitely the school I used to go to IRL, and in a corner of the main hall (the Aula, where IRL, school lunch was only served once for two weeks while our actual lunch hall was getting renovated) former classmates of mine are sitting on tables, being served a strange, gloppy stew of potatoes, carrots and other veggies for lunch (even though it was night the scene before, it definitely is 1 PM now). I look around worried, obviously mixing the "levels of reality" up and thinking that if Flutie succeeds with his plan, we can never again be sure that the guy who walks next to us in the crowd isn't one of the super-vampires. Still, I sit down to have some of the stew, but before I can eat it, I wake up.
