faith...shouldn't you think that the RIAA would go after the guys that are making millions of dollars every year from pirated CD's.. i know they caught some...but shouldn't those dudes be there focus...

What if Im able to understand the law and difference between right and wrong. However unable to care or find any moral in it? Like sociopathy for example. Would I then be considered insane or something? These questions are rhetorical(SP?) btw 😀

What about accessorial liability. If one person asks another to download and burn track for them, who would you say has the most liability; the person who had the original mens rea, or the person who committed the actus reus? (thats the mental and activity elements of the crime) I wonder who would be most liable; the person who had asked for the offence to be committed, or the person who committed the offence, under the instruction of another.

I love the legal talk, the law is one of the most interesting subjects there is.

One quick question, maybe a bad one but just wondering, if I own a cd and rip it so that I can have only my favorite songs on my computer but dont share them with anyone and maybe even decide to burn them on a cd for myself that isnt infringing anyoens rights is it? As long as I am not burning these cd's for anyone else right?
 
So long as your don't share, it shoulldn't bei nfringement; as copyright laws only apply (as far asI'm aware in my first year law knowledge) to the prohibited sharing of the product; if you're not sharing it with anyone, it shouldn't reall matter as far as I'm aware.
 
isn't there a law that allows you to copy tracks for friends...like one copy
