Entertainment Weekly has a sneek peek at "The New Buffy".

Yeah the volume was incredibly low; I had my speakers turned all the way up and could barely hear it. But it still looked pretty cool. 😀

And AWESOME, Brian; I'm so downloading the app! 🙂

***BEWARE THE VIDS MIGHT HAVE SPOILERS OF THE COMICS***

I was looking if the trailer for the BtVS motion comics was on youtube and I accidently found these two vids, which I thought were amazing... Pretty well done.

First a trailer for Angel ATF:

And then an opening credits sequence for ATF:

What do you guys think??

I agree that static cutouts of comic book characters are unimpressive, and that the voices really stink...but I also agree that any Buffy is good Buffy! I'll be buying every ep--because I can't help myself!

Looking at the finished preview on Amazon's site:

The cutouts aren't completely static... there's just enough motion to make you wish they'd gone the little bit extra and just made real animation out of it.

The voice actors seem to just be reading their lines rather than acting them. This episode is mostly action, but I question whether they'll be able to pull it off when there are actual emotional scenes to do.

Well, I'm not that exited to be honest.
I've already read the comics, if it was new stories I would be all over it but now I don't care much.

Not that they are willing to sell it to me anyway... someday I would want to hear a good reason to why they do that.

i don't know anything about motion comics, but I think it looks cool.

However, the acting is horrible, lol.

OMG I can't wait!!! I read that they are releasing a DVD of all the eps, I so hope this is true!!! I need them for my collection now!! If they are releasing so soon by fall, I wonder if they will release them in volumes ??

I don't think the preview looks bad at all (they played "Twice the Fool"!!!), but now I'm torn. I've been putting off buying S8 because I'd been hoping they'd package the comics and the one-shots together, but now it just looks like they may be devoting their energies to the motion comic. So, now I'm just wondering if they'll animate the one-shots, too, and package them with the final DVDs?

There will eventually be a season 8 collection/HC, with the 40 issues and all the one shots and webcomics. might be in one or several volumes tough, since it's be big.

Actually Scott Allie says his team has zero involvement with the Motion Comics. It's apparently made by some 3rd party, unassociated with the actual Buffy Season Eight team.

You would think they would get voice actors to match the way the real actors spoke. Whoever they got to read buffy wouldn't be so terrible if she coulda watched some buffy before and matched the voice inflections.

You would think that they would've approached the real actors to do it, since Alyson, Nick, Tony, Michelle, and David all planned on doing the original animated Buffy project that Joss pitched...
