Saffron (from "Our Mrs. Reynolds") returns - after Mal breaks up her current gig, she convinces him and the crew to help out with a "perfect crime" that isn't. The crime: go to Bellerophon and steal*a criminal's prototype laser gun from his collection. The plan: Saffron and Mal sneak in and dump the gun down the trash, bypassing security, and the Serenity crew grab it from the disposal system. Of course, this is Saffron, and things don't quite turn out as planned...

Meanwhile, Simon figures out Jayne betrayed them (in "Ariel") and the two have words.

The second of 3 episodes that were shown in the summer after the show got cancelled. The other two being Heart of Gold (aired 6 months after Objects in space which was the last episode to be aired in the shows first run. Still it got aired a month before Trash. Did anyone say it was easy to follow the show?) and The message (airing last).

How can you not love the opening. "Yeah. That went well." 😀

"So... you guys met." Saffrons' back. The third returning character. Awesome. Fighting, acting like kids.

Wash's reaction to Saffron being on the ship. Ah, goofy as he may be also often the sense of reason. Unless he's terribly jealous. 😉

Saffron can't be trusted but that's ok because Mal's going to watch her the whole time. Somehow that doesn't comfort me.

"Jayne is a girls name.
Well, Jayne ain't a girl!"

River tells (or heavily hints) Simon what Jayne did on Ariel. This can get interesting.

Saffron (from now on to be called Yo-Saf-Bridge) sure likes the idea of getting married.

There's Book. Haven't seen much of him lately.

"He's my husband.
Well, who in the damn galaxy ain't?!"

"I've seen you without clothes before. Never thought I'd see you naked."

Now Mal's special again. A reference to earlier quote?

I guess Mal didn't pay much attention to Yo-Saf-Bridge on the ship. You got to hand it to her. She's good at what she does.

Inara to the rescue. 🙂 "You can't do this. I have a condition!" She may be good at what she does but boy can she be pathetic at times.

The whole scene between Simon and Jayne in the infirmary give me a huge smile. Adding River to that almost get too much. Then there's the quote. "Also, I can kill you with my brain."

Mal's happy with how things went down and content with his body. Good day indeed.

-Well, not really sure what to say about the start of this episode. Mall sitting naked on a rock. Liked the line though"¦"Yep, that went well."
-Oh man, Saffron's back. Awesome. And Mal just turning her plan to crap? Even better. "I shaved off my beard for you devil woman!".
-I would like to think that's the last we'll see of Saffron, but I'm guessing it's not"¦
-I always like the Mal/Inara dynamic. For a guy that's so smart and smooth so often, he just goes to hell around her. He just screws it up every time.
-Oh f***. She's back. I don't care what the job is, where they go or what the pay is, this is going to hell. Guaranteed.
-Wash had the best reaction. "I'm confused. What is she doing here!? We're in space! How did she get here!"
-I don't think I can express how awesome Zoe slamming Saffron was.
-River absolutely has some psychic business going on.
-Ah, the heist montage scene. Every bank/casino movie ever is applauding.
-The silent conversation between Mal and Saffron with whoever the hell this guy is was pretty funny. Oh, this poor schmuck. Things are about to head south, for everyone. Mark my words.
-"Don't ask me about the gun though, that's new." I don't know why, but I just love lines like this.
-If ever an Angel line applied, it's this one now: "You betrayed me! You're betraying me right now!"
-Why would Saffron even come back at all, when things are clearly this sour? I hope this gets answered.
-Oh, Mal. He gets played by this bitca. Every. Single. Time. And we can't turn. Awesome.
-Oh well, at least Inara got the best of Saffron. I don't think there's any way this was planned though.
-The Simon/Jayne scene was pretty intense. I liked it a lot. Pretty cool of Simon. "Also, I can kill you with my brain." You know? I kinda believe her.

-Good episode. It wasn't my favorite, but it was a good plot with a lot of twists and turns. The humor was awesome.

-Erm, is that Mal, nekkid in the desert?? This will be an interesting story.
-Mal meeting old friends. Heehee. Not sure why, but I find that funny.
-"So, you guys have met." Heh. Return of the super-witch! 😛 Where did she learn to fight, anyway??
-Hahaha. Did he say "I would have traded all my beer for you, devil woman!" ?
-"Can't miss a place you've never been." Keep being smart, Mal!!
-Ugh, Mal, don't go into anything with her. Not a good idea.
-Zoe is wearing a very uncharacteristically feminine shirt. Hmm.
-I thought it was odd that Inara offered him tea, as well. She looks freaking gorgeous in that scene, too!
-Ooo, is Mal being Mr. Jealous again? Sneaky, sneaky.
-"I'll stay out of your whoring, you stay out of my thieving." Gotta love this crew!
-He put her in a box. HAHAHAHAHAHA
-Hahah. Always love Wash. "WHAT'S SHE DOING ON THIS SHIP??"
-Ooo, Inara vs. Saffron. Could get interesting.
-I FREAKING LOVE ZOE!!!
-"Jayne is a girl's name." Hahaha. River just makes me chuckle.
-Mal telling Saffron he'll stick her in her crate reminds me of Wesley's "I'll take away your bucket." 😛
-I love Kaylee and Wash scheming together. Excellent.
-Fairly certain I would never agree to scale the outside of a spaceship...
-I just know Saffron is going to screw them over, I just can't figure out how yet!
-EEP! Jayne!
-Oh, Saffron, you have way too many husbands. Apparently these places don't require marriage licenses...too bad she didn't have her poison lipstick.
-Love that Mal uses his opportunities. 😀
-Aww, Wash calls Zoe "dear" even under high-pressure situations. <3
-Um, how is Mal getting off that ship? And there is obviously some actual feelings going on between this other guy and Saffron. Hmmm.
-Mal still won't let her have a gun. Yay for using his brain!
-Saffron definitely has some issues with the male gender. Pretty sure Mal should have her tied up. Yup.
-Oo, Mal, should have got a base tan. 😉
-Oh, I really love Inara right now!!!
-Ut-oh, Jayne, you're in a bit of a predicament there. Again, good thing Simon likes that Hippocratic Oath!
-"Also. I can kill you with my brain." Hahahaha
-What is Mal's tattoo of? And he better watch that door shutting! 😛

I did quite like this ep, though Saffron annoys the daylights out of me. Glad she got hers. 😛

-Eww, did Mal just refer to to that guys beard as his "soup catcher"? Gross, it drives me crazy when people call it that.

-Yay more Saffron! I really liked her so it's nice to see her character again' although no big surprise with the previously on being 90% about her.

-The Mal/Inara fight was about more than jobs...those two just need to admit to their feelings.

-"Jayne is a girls name" LOL! 😀

-So River has connected the dots about Jayne being the one who sold them out...I wonder if she knew all along and why she hasn't said anything yet.

-Eeep! Mal's white butt! Is that a tattoo on his side?

-Neat twist that Inara ended up being the one to get the goods before Saffron. Didn't see that coming, she sure does play being jealous and passive aggressive well.

-River threatening Jayne was funny/creepy. When are we going to learn more about River? We keep getting little tidbits but I want more! 🙂
