The second of 3 episodes that were shown in the summer after the show got cancelled. The other two being Heart of Gold (aired 6 months after Objects in space which was the last episode to be aired in the shows first run. Still it got aired a month before Trash. Did anyone say it was easy to follow the show?) and The message (airing last).
How can you not love the opening. "Yeah. That went well." 😀
"So... you guys met." Saffrons' back. The third returning character. Awesome. Fighting, acting like kids.
Wash's reaction to Saffron being on the ship. Ah, goofy as he may be also often the sense of reason. Unless he's terribly jealous. 😉
Saffron can't be trusted but that's ok because Mal's going to watch her the whole time. Somehow that doesn't comfort me.
"Jayne is a girls name.
Well, Jayne ain't a girl!"
River tells (or heavily hints) Simon what Jayne did on Ariel. This can get interesting.
Saffron (from now on to be called Yo-Saf-Bridge) sure likes the idea of getting married.
There's Book. Haven't seen much of him lately.
"He's my husband.
Well, who in the damn galaxy ain't?!"
"I've seen you without clothes before. Never thought I'd see you naked."
Now Mal's special again. A reference to earlier quote?
I guess Mal didn't pay much attention to Yo-Saf-Bridge on the ship. You got to hand it to her. She's good at what she does.
Inara to the rescue. 🙂 "You can't do this. I have a condition!" She may be good at what she does but boy can she be pathetic at times.
The whole scene between Simon and Jayne in the infirmary give me a huge smile. Adding River to that almost get too much. Then there's the quote. "Also, I can kill you with my brain."
Mal's happy with how things went down and content with his body. Good day indeed.

Saffron (from "Our Mrs. Reynolds") returns - after Mal breaks up her current gig, she convinces him and the crew to help out with a "perfect crime" that isn't. The crime: go to Bellerophon and steal*a criminal's prototype laser gun from his collection. The plan: Saffron and Mal sneak in and dump the gun down the trash, bypassing security, and the Serenity crew grab it from the disposal system. Of course, this is Saffron, and things don't quite turn out as planned... Meanwhile, Simon figures out Jayne betrayed them (in "Ariel") and the two have words.
