What do you guys think about the whedonverse's actors new roles?

I love How I Met Your Mother but when was the last time Alyson did some serious acting?

Bones is so awesome!

Castle is perfect!

Of the new shows I watch How I Met Your Mother and Dollhouse, and I love them both.

Why do you want Aly to stare in something more serious? I like her in comedy! Also, HIMYM is doing pretty well, so let's not complain.

I considered watching Bones, but from what I've heard it's really such a rip-off of the X-Files storylines, so I'm not sure about that...

I've never seen Bnes, so I can only repeat what other have said, but what I have heard mostly is that there's the whole Mulder-Scully dynamic first of all, and also there's supposed to be some storyline overlaps.

I watch all three and like them all with Bones as my favourite. But since I've more or less only seen David as Angel it took me some time to get used to him as Booth.

A rip off of X-files because of Mulder-Scully dynamic? Does that mean that X-files was first with such dymanic or that it's a rip off too? 😉 Sure you can see similarities but not many aliens and a lighter/more fun tone in Bones.

I didn't say X-flies was boring/unfunny or completely dark. But I do see Bones as more fun/light when you compare the two. Others might not agree but that's my opinion.

Take Buffy and Angel. Angel has a darker tone than Buffy (talking about the shows obviously) but that doesn't mean that it's never funny because as we know Angel has a lot of funny moments.

Love HIMYM, I think Aly is amazing in it, her and Marshall are so funny together.

Really like Castle, it had a cool first season. And Im looking forward to SMG's new show, sounds interesting.

Also never would have made a connection between Bones and X-Files, what a weird comparison, lol!

How I met your mother is brilliant. Hope Alyson gets more storylines this year.

Bones really suprised me, didn't expect it to be so funny.
Dr. Brennan is a great character.

Castle feels more like an ordinary, but good, TV serie. You gotta love Nathan Fillion though...

Well, I get the Bones/X-Files thing. And even Castle too. The buttoned down, by-the-book female teamed up with the roguish, more reckless male. It's now a TV cliché really.

Bones seems a little more unusual in that each character has their own area of expertise/comfort zone and each one can act recklessly in different ways...depending on the situation. Right? I'm not a regular watcher of the show, but that's the sense I get.

And Temperance has the cultural ignorance, the Asberger's-like personality which is fun.

Saw a few episodes of How I Met Yo Momma and I was less than impressed, never saw Castle, do like Bones and the Dollhouse and I have a love/hate relationship.

I love How I Met Your Mother. It's an entertaining, funny show with great actors and there isn't one character I don't like. That I'm a huge fan of Neil Patrick Harris sure does help.

I'm still not sure whether I love or hate Dollhouse but after having seen "Epitaph One", I'm definitely looking forward to the second season.

The other shows I haven't seen (yet), though my mother tells me Bones is really good. I still only see Angel walking around in daylight and knowing how to use a cell phone and finding that a little odd whenever I see her watching it x) Maybe I'm going to check out the first season soon-ish.

I totally read the title as "Everyone's New Shoes" and was thorougly confused when I saw it was in The Whedonverse.

Bones is one of my favorite TV shows period, and it (or at least David's performance as Booth) is at least part of the reason I got into Buffy. As far as I'm concerned, it gets better every season and the characters really develop quite nicely. I miss the Angelator though--I thought it was dumb at first but I got used to it, and not without it the show doesn't seem quite same. Even though it was a little far fetched... Anyway, I love how much it focuses on the characters, perhaps even more than on the plot. Obviously the murders are a big part of it, but the reason Bones is much more entertaining than other similar shows is that it's very character driven.

I avoided How I Met Your Mother for a while but thank TV God for blowout DVD deals. After buying the first season, and laughing until I cried, I ended up getting the other seasons as they came out. Honestly though, sometimes I think the writers over-hip-up the dialogue, but that's my only complaint. I didn't like Ted Mosby first either but he grew on me. Barney and Marshall are hilarious.

Dollhouse of course is on my radar, I saw the pilot of Castle but haven't followed it. Eventually I'll get the DVD because I did really like the first episode, and the previews all look really great.

I'm not much of a Bones watcher, I only occasionally watch it if it happens to be on TV.
I love HIMYM though, and I've been following Castle and Dollhouse as well, they've all had great starts to the new season IMO.

Because she's an amazing actress and I want to see more of her doing different roles.
