Faith - good or bad?

This is a tough question my mind is always changing after every re-watch or just thinking about it. As of now I prefer faith as evil. I think there is just something about her when she is evil. She knows she is bad and she likes it for the most part. Her character has so many layers but when she is bad she is bad. I loved her interaction with Angel when she was bad and good but it always seemed like she was getting to him when she was evil. Kind of taunting him like you know you miss being this way, I found that entertaining.

Plus some of my favorite moments of Faith are when she was evil. My favorite fight scenes for Buffy are when she is fighting Angelus, Spike or Faith but faith always stands out. It is the fact that they are both slayers that makes it so interesting. I will say though Faith is just as good when she is on a road to redemption. When she came back in Angel to help I loved it I was like better watch out faith is back. So either way she is great, but the thing about Faith is she is never completely evil and she is never completely good it is a fine line and I think that is good for her character at times.

I want my Faith to be good(with edge as you said). I agree with Taake that she's good at heart even when she's bad. I love her in Angel S4 the most. She's fantastic and almost everyone accepted her there. When she's back in BtVS S7, she kinda acted like her own self in S3 pre-Bad Girls. I love serious Faith. She's cute when she's brooding.

I loved Faith in S4 of Angel and S7 of Buffy. She was good, but still had an edge to her.

I love Faith in S4 of Angel - to me that was the best she got. I love Faith's evolution as a character, how she grew and changed and took responsibility for her actions. To me it doesn't seem that she went from good to evil, but rather incorporated those two sides of herself into a whole that is better than what she was before.

I totally, totally agree. I LOVED Faith after Wes busted her out of prison and she was this total badass that wanted to be good. She was much more interesting.

I recently came to the conclusion that I don't really like Faith much. She just bugs me for some reason. So, the best she gets for me is good with an edge. But even then...I don't know. The scene with her and Spike in season seven (the one where he's like, naked...yeah) really bugs me. But I don't know.

I loved her most in season 3 buffy before turning evil. I always felt sorry for her after that. I couldn't stand season 7 when Buffy punched her in the face and she didn't fight back. She was much better when she kicked ass. So evil and twisted because at least she wasn't taking shit from Buffy.

I don't like Faith at all, except for Ats season 4. This is where she's a hero instead of a whiner. She should stop acting like she had the worst life in the whole world, and start being a Slayer and let people help her. Where did the whining got her to? murdering, jail, no friends... She was pushing everybody away, even those who tried to help her out. She let her feelings control her and she thinks that's what ruins her life. She ruins her own life. I mean, she finally had friends and people who cared for her (Buffy, her friends, Joyce, Giles, Angel...) and wanted her to be on their side. But she shut them all out. She had a life to rebuild, but she decided to go evil and try to kill her friends. Someone had to slap her, and right before she went to jail, someone did. She realized what she had to do, turn herself in. Then she became a better person. A hero, a Slayer. And even though she was at jail, her life was better than before. Because she was finally doing what was right and stopped whining how bad her life was.
In season 7, when everybody lashes on Buffy (Empty Places), Faith was the least who lashed at her. She ran out after Buffy, and also wanted to make sure she was alright after she was gone. She grew up. That's where I can at least stand her. I still don't like her and never will, but she got better. Because she understood her mistakes and wanted to redeem. She was once the evil one, now she wants back on the good side. By Buffy. By the Slayerness. Because that's what she is and what she was born to be. A Slayer, a hero. Not a murderer, not evil.

If you didn't understand from that, I don't like Faith herself but I think her character is so deep and interesting. That's why the long post about a character I don't even like 😀
