Faith VS. Buffy

Alright, I think we know this answer to this question, but I feel the need to state the obvious...

Faith.

I've explained why in many other places, but here's the gist: Buffy has a superiority complex, Faith doesn't. Faith shuts people out in a completely different way Buffy does, and for the most part, that's not her fault. Buffy holds herself on a higher plane, when she could identify, and still be Slayer!Buffy.

I'm not trying to open a huge can of worms, but that's my reason, also attributed to the fact Faith looks like a goddess in leather. And her attitude is the sex.

I think that Faith is better than Buffy. I think that she's a better fighter and a better person. I know that most people won't agree with either of those things, but it's just my opinion. Anyways, I don't like Buffy, for many reasons that don't need to be listed here. Faith wins for me, no question about it.

I liked Faith and Buffy for different reasons.....

I don't see how if you don't like Buffy you could have watched seven seasons of a show based around her character.....not trying to be smart here it just caught me off guard.

I'm not all too fond over Buffy's character, but the show is still my absolute favorite and etc.
Sure, the show is called Buffy the Vampire slayer, but there are so many other characters, not to mention her close circle of friends, that makes the show worth seeing over and over again. I don't hate Buffy, but there are things about her that I don't like or agree with.

It's not that I hate Buffy...there are things about her I dislike. There are things about other characters I dislike. I think Buffy has her shining moments, they just don't happen that often [in my opinion, of course].

Well, there are other characters on the show. 😉 I know quite a few people who don't like Buffy, but love the show (myself included.) She just kind of annoys me, but the show is still incredible!

I also like both Slayers, but for me, Faith wins.

I think Faith is easier for many people to relate to as she isn't perfect, she has made mistakes (ok granted, murder is a pretty HUGE mistake, but still...) and she is coming to terms and dealing with it. With Buffy, nothing she ever does is really wrong...

I loved the darker, edgier side of being a Slayer that Faith showed us!

I completely agree! Well, except for the part about Buffy never doing anything wrong...she screws up all the time! 🙂

Have to go with Buffy. Faith always seemed much more a sidekick. Don't get me wrong I like Faith and her skeptical comments on being a slayer. And I believe Buffy is a better slayer because she takes it deadly serious. Literally.

Tuché, but sanity is hardly a slayer power-thingie

But as to perform the slayer role and maintain the validity of it, don't you think a slayer must be at least sane? I mean look at Dana at ATS Season 5, her slayerness wasn't valid because she was mentally disturbed; she will kept under control by the new council and will probabably never be a valid slayer.

I think that most things are relative, including the definition of "sane". I wouldn't rule out putting a big ole insane-stamp on Buffy's forehead from time to time, if what we define as insane is how Faith acted in season 3.
The impression I get from Jossverse slayers is that a lot of them were in a kind of dark place, a lot of times lonely, just them against the vampires. Perhaps some of them would be considered to be "insane" or at least very damn weird. But I think it comes with the job. Keeping your mind straight, focusing and directing all your energy into one thing, those could be slayer abilities. Instant sanity, not.

I haven't seen Angel S5 so I can't really say anything about her.

Frenchy Faith
Ahhhh! That's the kind of comment I like to read!... "instant sanity, not" YEAH!
