Faith's comment in 'this year's girl'

I agree with Jill on this one. I think Season 4 was too rushed. In Season 3 we have Faith showing Buffy her dark side and Buffy embraces it. She is willing to kill Faith to save Angel. Then all of a sudden its season 4 and everything is as right as rain. Buffy feels no remorse, unlike her reaction in Season 2 episode Ted when she thought she had killed a human. And she's moved onto a new man. It made all of seasons plot line feel cheap, especially the Buffy/Angel relationship.

Now at the end of Season 5 Buffy is placed in the same position she was in at the end of Season 3. She has to kill a human to save a loved one. However, she doesn't. Now I wonder if that means that Buffy has grown as a person and she will no longer kill humans to protect her loved ones or that she loves Angel more than Dawn or her hate for Faith made her decision in Season 3 easier.

Buffy seemed to forget all her experiences through high school as soon as she entered college and Faith hit the nail on the head with the comment she made.

Definetly agree. I think it has all got to do with Faith, more than her love for Dawn or Angel. Buffy and Faith's relationship was alway complicated, I don't think Buffy ever really hated Faith though, she wanted to and she act like she did but I don't think she hated her. Buffy just alwasy had a harder time, when it came to Faith, a harder time deciding what's right and wrong. Might be cause Faith was the one who got Buffy to always slip over to the "worse" side for a while, maybe that's one of the reasons she can't see what's right when it comes to Faith.
 
Faith is the only enemy Buffy has ever feared. Faith shows Buffy a dark side of herself and Buffy can't live in a world like that. For Buffy her life is as messed up as she needs it to be. With Faith coming along and showing her that just because she is a slayer that doesn't neccessarily mean she's 'good'. Buffy needs Faith just as much as she....(I don't want to say hate or fear but its the only words I can think of to describe it....so..) hates her. Faith draws the line for Buffy. Faith shows Buffy everything Buffy shouldn't do.

And I think Buffy was a little selfish in the fact that she didn't want to listen to Faith in the Season 4/Season 1 cross over between Angel. Faith was explaining to Buffy what it was like on the 'dark side'. How it was always confusing for her and how painful it was. But Buffy didn't want to listen. I think that was mainly because Buffy thought she had the bad deal when it came to slaying and she just didn't want to hear that Faith had it worse.
 
Buffy fears Faith in a different way, cause she knows Faith is right. Faith is "dangerous" cause she's too smart in some ways, and Faith is also the only one who can understand [some things about] Buffy, which also scares Buffy, or makes Buffy weaker in some ways. Buffy doesn't understand Faith the same way though, she thinks she does but... she doesn't.
The thing is, sure Faith is showing Buffy how she shouldn't be, but it's not like faith is a bad slayer (at least not in the beginning). She isn't exactly as responsible as Buffy, but Faith loves being a slayer, she loves slaying and if things with Buffy didn't go so wrong it's not at all a fact that Faith wouldn't have handled being the slayer. Also neither of them like to be told what to do, it's not just a Faith-thing.

Yeah, Buffy should have listened to Faith, she actually should have understood her... (I haven't seen Angel though so I don't know a lot about what happens there.) But Buffy doesn't want to forgive Faith. Everyone else she can forgive, she can almost even understand, but as I said when it comes to Faith she doesn't work (or act or react) the same way she usually does. She only follows her first thought, she doesn't think things through...

In season 3, just some episodes before it ended, Buffy and Faith were friends. For the bigger part of the season they weren't enemies at least. But when Faith wakes up, it's like Buffy doesn't at all remember that, sho only remembers the bad things Faith did, she only remembers Faith being a killer. But the last thing that happened was that Buffy tried to kill Faith, not the other way around.
 
Season 4 feels like a start over for me. There had been so much badness in season 3 and with going off to college Buffy wanted sort of a fresh start. But I don't think she forgot about Angel. Parker might just have been a result of wath happened with Angel, if she wasn't so eager to move on she might have been able to see wath Parker was really up to.. maybe, maybe not.

And then going on with Riley; he was there, he was safe, he was normal (or atleast she thought so). It wasn't the crazy in love thing.

About Buffy not beeing able to forgive Faith I think it can have to do with the fact that she's also a slayer. Buffy puts a lot of pressure on her self with the whole slayer thing, that beeing a slayer means that you have more responsibility than others. And because Faith also is the slayer, Buffy puts that responsibility on her too. It's just a thought.. haven't thought about it that much before so it might just be crazy thinking..
 
I don't know why Buffy moved on so fast but the wat she moves on nso fast kinda makes her a slut
