Fall TV: the good & the bad

Now that we've had a few weeks of the new TV season under our belts, what do you like, what are you disappointed in, what do you hate, what are you angry about for early cancellations, what are you looking forward to that hasn't started yet?

I like the new seasons of all my favorite returning shows: Castle, Glee, Fringe, The Big Bang Theory.

My kids and I are loving Terra Nova. It's so hard to find something that we can watch together, but we're really liking it. The family focus is great without being too hokey (something I didn't like about No Ordinary Family). And the special effects have been really good. I hope they show more of the future universe, though.

I'm so-so on Ringer. I'm sticking with it though.

There are some shows I haven't watched yet that I need to try out, namely Homeland (with Morena Baccarin, although shoot, I think we cancelled our Showtime when we ordered Starz) and A Gifted Man (with Julie Benz).

I'm looking forward to the return of Bones, and the start of both Grimm & Once Upon A Time.

Free Agents was cancelled, although I had only seen one episode, so I'm not that invested in it. Still, it was nice to have ASH on our TV screens. 🙁

I'm liking all my old shows so far: Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, Castle, Nikita, HIMYM, even Law and Order SVU I like so far but I hate that Elliots gone. Glee I'm not so crazy about so far season 3 has been kind of stupid.

I'm loving 2 Broke Girls thats my favorite new show this season. The New Girl and Ringer are good too.

I kinda liked the Playboy Club was sad to see it go so soon.

Loving Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries! After a slow start, Ringer is picking up - it's getting really exciting, plus SMG is amazing in it! 90210 and Gossip Girl are okay - both are way passed their peak tho! The Secret Circle is great, I'm really getting into that at the moment! I am anxious about the return of One Tree Hill though- the first four seasons were incredible, the fifth great and the sixth and seventh okay! The eighth though was so bland! I've watched it for years so will stick it out to the end- I just hope they do something exciting with the characters this season- last season was sooooo slow!

From the list above, Monday to Wednesday are my favorite days for TV.

I'm going to give a full line up and my reviews... Because I'm bored and have nothing to do. Enjoy.

Monday
I'm not so sure about Terra Nova. I know it's going to stick around, but I think it's going to end up being one of those shows I just don't get all the love for. And it will go on for like seven or eight seasons and I'll be like "I don't get it." Like Lost. I did not understand the love for Lost at all. I just don't like the way they do the dinosaurs and the drama's not forefront enough to keep my attention. It's like they're trying to appeal to the guy who goes to the movies to see big explosions... and I hate that guy. But no matter...

Good thing that's not the only show on TV! I'm LOVING HIMYM. I know Barney/Nora are not going to be endgame but I love seeing them together. The more I do, the more I get so happy. I wish more people would wake up and see how happy he is instead of being all like Robin was this past episode. Maybe seeing her make that breakthrough will help them... hopefully.

I love what we've seen of this season of House. I've been really nervous... but the premiere was really good. Selfless House was something we haven't seen in a while. It was nice to see that again.

Bad Girls Club is a little better than it has been.... but still not so great. It will never get up to seasons 1-3 standards ever again.

Onto Tuesday!
Glee is just incredible. I LOVE Glee this season. I was thinking about not watching this season because last season was so bad... I am SO glad I decided to watch. This season has made me cry several times and it's just... wow.

I love New Girl. It's possibly my favorite new show... I love it so much! It is hysterical. Jess is awesome! And I love how she's always singing! She's so unique and different... I LOVE IT!

Ringer is also really good. I love it. I love it a lot. I love Bridgett. She's so wonderful.

Raising Hope is pretty good. I've never been the biggest "OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS SHOW" about Raising Hope but it does make me laugh and it still does this season.

Parenthood is great I'm liking that even the Adam part of the family is cool this season. But again, Parenthood was never a show I was like "OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS SHOW" about but I like it... so...

WEDNESDAY!
Modern Family has never been funnier! I am just... Oh my god. I'm laughing just thinking about it. So good! If they keep it up, they'll sweet the Emmy's net year too.

I love The Middle this season too. High School Sue is AWESOME!

Happy Endings is always really good. That show has so much heart and it always gets looked over and I feel bad. It's so good though! And this season is not an exception!

I love Revenge. I know a lot of people who aren't sure about it... but I really love it. Emily/Amanda is so crazy but awesome. Every time she brings someone down, and she gets that smile on her face... It's like I freaking live for it!

I'm thinking about watching Suburgatory just so I can have my Wed TV be "ABC from 8-11." Also, I was not watching it because it took Cougar Town's spot in the fall lineup... but Bill Lawrence said it was good... so I won't feel like I'm betraying my favorite showrunner of all times (sorry, that's not Joss) in watching it.

Thursday!
The Big Bang Theory is always good. I'm a little confused as to when Sheldon gave up protesting that Amy's his girlfriend... last I remember whenever someone called her that, he would say "well she's a friend who's a girl but she is not my girlfriend." Maybe I missed something... but it keeps bothering me... Anyway... I love this season. I like Leonard having a cross-continental relationship... it's hysterical.

Community. OH MY GOD Community! this past episode not so much... but my god the primenere.... 1. Community does more marketing for Cougar Town than ABC. 2. Cougartown Abbey! 3. Inspector Spacetime! KLJS:LJSDILJF INSPECTORSPACETIME! But I think this is going to be a good season for Community.

Parks and Rec is pretty good. I like Leslie running for office...

I love The Secret Circle. This week freaked the crap out of me... and it wasn't even that scary. I wish there was more of it... like it was on every day and not just Thursday because I really like it. Like I love it.

And Private Practice... At this point, I kind of feel obligated to watch Private Practice because I have watched it since the beginning... but it's not one of my favorite things anymore... That being said, it's not that this season is bad... because it's not... I'm just kind of tired of the show. It's time to cancel and move on.

Until Grimm and Chuck premiere... I'm not watching anything on Friday. And until Once Upon a Time premieres... I'm not watching anything on Sunday. So there's my TV line up for Fall... and my reviews so far.

Im really loving Ringer, Glee, The Middle, Modern Family and The Secret Circle. Oh and UKs x-factor. Its really nice to have a lot on tv I like it hasnt happened since the days of buffy/angel/charmed. I'm loving Glee this season but we should see more Rachel & Finn.

See, here's where I differ from most people who watch BGC. I don't like the girls who are just a hot mess. I like the girls who actually seem cool... and who finish the experience in a better place than when they started. Judi just annoys me. She's got these crazy antics and they're all over the place and I'm just like "shut the f*** up." I'm so done with her. I'm glad Stasi's like "I'm not enabling you anymore." Because that's what she needs to hear. She's such a child. "So and so doesn't like me!" "so now so-and-so's being nice to me and I don't know what to believe." And it's like "Are you an idiot?! You're f***ing 21 years old. f***ing act like it!" My favorite girl this season is Angie. She is just awesome. She's sweet, she's cool, and she's real. She's her own person and doesn't take shit from anyone. She reminds me of Lauren in that way (fun fact, Lauren is my second favorite bad girl ever. Second to Amber M. Who a lot of people despise and I have literally no clue why).

All of the "old" shows I've continued to watch has been good. Of the new ones I'm must surprised by Homeland. Didn't plan to watch it at all but a friend praising it got me to watch the pilot. Definitely will continue watching.

Ringer: Thought I'd be given up by now but I haven't so that's positive but it needs more. Would I watch it at all if not for Sarah? Probably not which says enough of the show.

Free agents: Gave it two episodes and not at all surprised it was cancelled.

New girl: Jessie as a character is ok but I'm one of the few that don't love Zoà« so that's not helping.

Was not expecting new episodes of The Sarah Jane adventures, especially with Elisabeth Sladen dead, and Merlin. So to see new episodes of both has been nice. It won't be a whole season of The Sarah Jane adventures though but not surprising.

Looking forward to new episodes of Psych, Chuck, Bones and Leverage.

Still, it was nice to have ASH on our TV screens. 🙁

You can always tune into Merlin. If you can watch it on your channels that is.

I wasn't sure about Ringer, but it's picking up, so I'm sticking with it. It's really good.

New Girl is awesome. Very funny.

Wednesday: Survivor!

Of course I watch it. I always have, love this show. As for this season...That Harvard geek is my favorite!

Thursday: Project Runway

is gone...and that's really upsetting. Dean is not on my good side after last episode. Bobby is just Bobby and Sam is awesome. As for the evil bad guy black goo things...they are ok. Creepy, smart, and freakin everywhere!!

Come next Sunday I'll be watching The Walking Dead! Can't wait for that to start. I'm waiting on Grimm and Once upon a time. And Being Human! (What's up with that? Does anyone know when they are premiering?)

Of my old favorites that have/will be returning, there is "Castle," and "Supernatural," though I think that three seasons is enough for one single apocalypse. They need to try something new for awhile. "Terra Nova" is interesting so far. "Burn Notice" is supposed to be back in November. There IS going to be a second season of "Falling Skies" eventually, but I hope that that won't interfere with Noah Wyle's next "Librarian" movie, which is, I believe, supposed to be a theatrical release. "Lost Girl" is back, though I still can't picture Bo as a girl by any definition. She is most definitely a woman, and proof positive that females don't have to be teenagers to be attractive. She's one succubus who could suck the life out of me any time.

"Charlie's Angels" is a lost cause. I keep asking myself, "Why did they cancel "Human Target," and then pick THIS mess up?" Different networks, I know, but I still have to ask.

"Teen Wolf" is getting a second season eventually, though, like "Falling Skies," it'll be more like summer than fall.

And, I'm sorry, folks, but "Ringer" just ain't doing it for me. Maybe it'll get more interesting as the season progresses, and I really hope that it does, but I look at it now and all that I can think of is "mid season replacement."

I love Castle and the new season is amazing! Glee is trying to find itself again and so far it's better than last season.

Ringer I'm watching, won't chance my life, but so far I like it.

Secret Circle is my new crush, I just love witch/magic shows!

The other new show... they just aren't important to me. I don't care about Zooey.. and New Girl seems kind of silly. Hart of Dixie isn't my style. I don't like TVD lol What I'm planning on watching is Falling Skies and Awkward.

I love Merlin! The two part opener of the new series was great!!! I love the evil Morgana - she is looking hotter than ever too haa And how scary were those Dorocha/Shadow people?????

I'm loving TBBT. As always, of course. That show never goes out of style, and never fails to make me laugh.
TVD is also very good, although it makes my heart ache the most.
I don't even know why I'm still watching Grey's Anatomy. I guess because I was there from the beginning, but almost all the characters got on my nerves already.
TSC is probably my favorite new show. The Pilot was kinda.. boring, but it's getting a lot better. I'm loving it.
I also love Nikita. What's there not to love.
Fringe is good, although I'm kinda hoping Peter will show up soon, and that they'll remember everything because I feel like characters digressed.
Desperate Housewives are always fun to watch. Drama!
Gossip Girl is good, but it kinda bugs me there's no more Chair. At least not yet.
HIMYM is awesome! I feel like they're better than the last season.
The Lying Game is also good. Exciting as well.
So is Ringer. It keeps getting better and better.
Glee is also awesome. Way better than in season 2.
I can't wait for Bones to start airing. And Once Upon A Time. I have a feeling that will be a good show. And I can't wait for PLL to return. I don't know how I feel about OTH.

I don't really LOVE any of the girls this season apart from two I did love Priscilla she was very calm and chill for the most part. Your right though Stasi should not have enabled her but I kind of disagree with Stasi because she did enable her when it fitted her. Like the cereal thing for example. She was all encouraging there but then when it escalated she was upset and wants to say things. Some of the girls really do grow it seems like some of them clean up their acts for the most part. Oh and I like Tiara she is just out there. I think Judi is a little insane though. I can't tell if it is like you said just crazy antics mixed with her drinking or if she is downright nuts..It has been like 8 weeks and I honestly can't tell maybe it is both. The only thing I have 100% learned is she is Creole.

The bad:
Terra Nova--this show had so much potential, but I couldnt even get through the first episode, it was so boring. Jason O'Mara (I think his name was) is the only actor I think did a great job, his tv family on the other hand is boring and he has no chemistry with his wife. Also, WTF? They are suddenly in a land where dinosaurs roam and they aren't getting eaten? you'd think there'd be dinosaurs everwhere cept there's only one here and there. And hello where's the danger factor?

The good:
Havent seen em yet but I'm so looking forward to Grimm and Once Upon a Time! And how do I know I'll like em? FAIRYTALES!

Amber M was one of the blonde ones in Tiffany's season. The short one. Her nickname was Cookie... she's the one that got Kayla kicked out... when they had that fight on the side of the road. And she also got her face smashed in in Mexico because she had fun and Whitney was a crazy bitch who didn't and so she smacked her. And Ailea was also crazy and was bragging about kicking Amber in the face and I kind of hate her a lot. *sigh* But yeah...

And I hate Priscilla because of her anti-lesbian comments to Tasha. I couldn't help but be CRAZY offended. But I was on her side of the cereal thing. I wish she'd beat Judi harder than that. If you pour cereal on me when I'm asleep... I'm going to bleeping kill you.

And as for Judi's "issues" as I call them. I think it's both her alcohol issues and she just has issues to begin with. I think she's really really stupid.

Of the new shows, my favorites are "New Girl" (big fan of the Jess character, though I'm really curious to see Jess teach) and "Whitney" (mostly for the quirky-yet-loving relationship between Whitney and Alex). "Pan Am" is growing on me, but I think that Colette is really the only interesting character (Kate is slowly developing though, and Maggie can be very funny sometimes). I'm also watching "Glee", "The Office" and "Fringe", and will be watching "Chuck" when it returns later this month.
