Okay, so stupid question, If you are old enough or responsible enough or even watch the show wouldn't you come to the forum.
it's late and christmas if that doesn't make since i will have to edit it later.
If you come to this board, doesn't that mean you have watched the show, I don't think there are many fifth graders going "I think I might visit Buffy Boards" without seeing the show first. keeping in mind that the shows have adult content. pretty visual sex, adult language, sexual references, medium violence (Wesley even had his throat slit in one episode) I'm sure they probably see worse on Bob The Builder, on a serious note I can see the need to keep it safe and family friendly, but atleast you could keep it in line with the shows. they probably have heard worse on the simpsons.: popcorn:

My intention was to leave this thread alone. The reason being my understanding of the way Angel Investigations works is you ask a question. You get an answer. Generally the thread is then closed. As an example of how open this board can be this thread was left open for discussion. Nevertheless the question was answered, if I pile in with my extra weight, it looks like mods piling on the members, so I avoided it.
However, I see my name up there. Therefore it may be helpful if I offer my particular interpretation of board policy here, so you know where I'm coming from if your post should disappear.
Here's the way I figure it. Somebody's a fan of the Buffy series. She says to herself "Hey, I'm going to put up a Buffy Board for myself and other fans to enjoy discussion on. I want it to be a board all can enjoy regardless of sex, age, race, or sexual persuasion." She bucks up her site fees, puts up the board, finds mods, and communicates to them the kind of board she wants. People check it out. If they like it they stay.
OK, so far, no problems. But now let's say somebody arrives who takes objection to something somebody else says. He replies, "You should be raped". I see it. Presto. That post disappears. I receive an angry PM.
"How dare you delete that post. Have you ever seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Rape is an issue often dealt with. It's one of Marti Noxon's favorite themes. Grow up."
I reply, "First of all Bud, you're not Marti Noxon. I don't know where you got the idea you were. The policy here is if you're making others feel personally uncomfortable, it doesn't fly. Live with it. Discussion of adult themes and use of such language, has as you may have noticed been oft allowed here. Put your thinking cap on. Try to figure out why their posts were allowed, and yours was not. Also I'd suggest you do not continue posting remarks others might find personally offensive. If you do, I can pretty much promise you you'll be getting some time to yourself to ponder the issue of what works here, and what doesn't"
Still don't get it? Let's discuss context. I sometimes see threads in the Social Studies forum discussing the television series South Park. You can do that. Here's an example of what you can't do.
There's an episode of South Park, I believe it's called "The N word". In that episode they don't just use the phrase "the N word" they use the actual N word. They use it a lot.
Now suppose you make a leap in logic there, and assume that therefore authorizes you to use the N word on the thread in pretty much any context you choose.
I see it. The post disappears. I get a PM...
"Hey Dum Dum, how can you delete that post. The word is in the freaking episode. It appears 21 times. I only used it 15."
I reply...
"Here's a YouTube link to CNN discussing that episode.
YouTube - CNN Comments on the SouthPark Word Episode
You'll notice they don't use the actual N word. Why do you think that is? Figure it out. Get back to me".

Oh wait after laboring through that massive missive, I just realized I can explain all this in a line or two.
If you post a thread titled something like "When Did Willow Realize She Was Gay", that sort of thing never has, nor will it ever be tampered with. If you post negative karma to somebody you've been arguing with, and it says "You're Gay", then I see it, kiss it goodbye. If it's particularly uncalled for in context, you just might get one of my legendary "sassy" PMs.
