Agree with a few others here that they are all my favorites, even the bad guys and annoying ones like Connor and Kennedy.
Even the ones I disliked the most had qualities I liked, and the ones I loved the most had qualities I didn't like.

There are a lot of characters I really, really like, but these four are my favorites. I mean, I like Fred, Wesley, Doyle, Xander (well, early Xander), Andrew and a number of others a lot, but the four that I listed are really special characters to me, especially Buffy and Angel.

Hates:

Connor, most of the Potentials, Connor, Adam, Professor Walsh, Anya, Connor.

I actually like Connor in After the Fall and the other comics, but on the show I absolutely couldn't stand him. The Potentials just got annoying after a while and a lot of the S4 bad guys just never took off. Anya just annoyed me. I know she's quite popular and all, but I hated the way she treated Buffy and pretty much everyone else.

Like: Xander and Harmony

Dislike: Buffy (yes, she is the lead character, but I still do not like her), Willow, Joyce, and Dawn.

Hate: Spike after becoming infatuated with Buffy and Anya.

I love Anya, Willow, Wesley, Darla, Jenny Calendar, Xander, Tara, Fred, Lorne, Joyce (she's grown on me), Lindsey, Doyle, etc.

I hate Buffy (ignorant, entitled, self righteous, arrogant, stupid, racist... hey she's like that guy on my way to uni each day who screams about the apocalypse, something about refugees, dunno, I try not to listen), Cordelia (an apathetic bully), Spike in S7 (really, for someone who yaps on about his glory murder days, the 'demon' within, he really is pathetic with all the puppy dog eyes and suck up tactics). I like him, however, when he is sarcastic, punk rock, sadist, insane self, like in School Hard, Lie To Me and Halloween. He was fun and liked the Sex Pistols and drank whiskey. What's not to like?

I kind of get where you're coming from with entitled, arrogant and self righteous, but how is Buffy ignorant of racist?

And now to answer the thread:

Favorites: Buffy, Faith, Tara, Kate, Wes, Doyle (I decided to only pick 3 per show, or else my list would be way too long)

Least favorites: Riley, the potentials (except Kennedy, I love Kennedy), Warren (but were suppose to hate him right?)
