Giles & Ethan. They were in a sex cult together. I don't understand why the show never confirmed there having been some genuine feelings between them.

Well, as a writer of fanfic I really can't pick just one, I love to mix and match in different stories. I find that a good writer can make near on any ship work, hell I rooted for Dawn/Wes in one story, and she was still 16 (granted, it was more like a one-sided crush from her end, but, still 🙂)
So I like the idea of, for example; Faith/Graham or Faith/Gunn, Anya/Wes or Anya/Lawson, Angel/Willow can be great with the right writer, Willow/Wes and not just because of real life 😉
Some of the best and yet most outlandish pairings I've been sold on thanks to fanfic are probably... Clem/Sophie (the girl from Older & Far Away who works with Buffy at the DMP), Tara/Lawson, Xander/Illyria, Faith/ADAM (yes, and by golly it was awesome), and Andrew/Drusilla, just to name a few.

Technically, Buffy and Faith isn't canon. But that doesn't count, because we all know what happened off camera.
So I'm going with Faith and Willow here. Of course it has to be post season 7 though. They'd balance each other out and get the best out of each other.

Faith and Gunn. Instant attraction can mean a lot, even if it is over superficial things. The "I hold my own / That's a shame" exchange meant that it could have been real.

Willow and Faith, both been through so much, Faith brings the excitement, Willow brings the calming influence and the comfort. I think these two would be good for each other.

Agreed. They had great chemistry. It's interesting that during the memory loss, the ones Giles thought he had the closest connections to were Anya (ex-demon) and Spike (vampire).
