Favorite Forgotten Movies

Who remembers the sci-fi flick "Class Of 1999"? It starred Pam Grier as one of a group of android schoolteachers that go berzerk. I loved that one as a kid.

Also, this one is pretty lame nowadays, but I remember liking "The Last Dragon". What the hell was I thinking? lol

My late night movies come from my dvd collection because i'm too lazy to go downstairs to turn on Sky. So its Kevin Smith, Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, Dazed & Confused or Can't Hardly Wait. A good mix 🙂 oooh and Boiler Room, thats a Gem of a movie, wasn't that big over here but I love it.

Yeah. I own the Last Unicorn. It's one of my all time faves as well. Night Of The Comet...That movie was FUNNY! All the little piles of orange dusties!!! HAHAHAHAHA! *Eghem* I mean, that was so sad...

Okay - you guys are scaring me! I'm starting to wonder if all buffy fans have some really weird-ass underlying similarities! 🙂

I *LOVE* the Last Unicorn! It's one of my favorite books, but the cartoon kicks ass also. I actually heard they're making a live-action movie of it, starring Christopher Lee as King Haggard.

I love almost all the movies you guys have mentioned! The Last Unicorn, Night of the Comet, The Last Dragon (*Sho-Nuff!*).

Oh - here's another one: The Warriors. Anybody remember that? Hands down the best movie about a gang of evil mimes in baseball uniforms ever made!

The Warriors, I love that movie! Can you dig it?! The Baseball Furies kick a___! Can you dig it?! It's a fraggin' classic! Caaaan....yoouuu....dig iiiiiiiiiiit??!!!! 😀

I always liked that bit "Warriors...come out and playayyyyy "

Hey, didn't someone in Buffy or Angel quote that one time?

I'll admit to a certain fondness for Some Kind of Wonderful. Mary Stuart Masterson as the tomboyish, Watts, in love with Keith. Eric Stoltz as Keith, who has a crush on Amanda Jones. And Lea Thompson as Amanda Jones.

Remember the opening? Watts pounding the drums?

That will be an awesome movie if they actually finish it....

And yes, LD I think you should be scared that we all share some "weird-ass underlying similarities". Because that means there's a lot of us running loose out there. 🙂

I remembered another, Witches of Eastwick.......

I used to love The Slipper And The Rose. It was a Cinderella type of film. It was great...ok so I'm a big geek..lol..

Did they? I don't remember it, but that would kick ass of epic proportions if they did!

Did anyone ever watch "The Dark Crystal"? I liked that when i was younger, along with "Legend" and "Labrinth" ( 🙂 Rayne)

Funny story about that, when i was younger, i alwas thought that David Bowie was na evil Queen.... Bit young to grasp everything, but now, looking back, i think that that was actually insight.

Hahahahaha! David Bowie...that's good..
Yeah, I had the Dark Crystal. It was pretty good. I used to eatch it a lot when I was younger but I have NO IDEA what happened to that movie!

****SMELL BAAAD!****

Me too Chas. Well, I own Labrinth and Legend. Dark Crystal I have because I borrowed my 11-year-old nieces copy about six months ago and have yet to return it. Bad uncle!
I don't really love most of Legend (but it's so amazingly pretty to look at) but Dark Crystal & Labrinth are da bomb!

Hey brat! 🙂 I just wanted to tell you, that I luv this thread. I could comment on this one forever..............🙂 lol

oh: a fave movie from when i was a kid : mio my mio.. and i remember liking the devil child with that kid junior 😉

ROCK & RULE!!!

I can't believe I forgot the best forgotten movie ever! Um, except that I guess by forgetting about it I proved the whole forgotten part of the Favorite Forgotten Movies thread title.

Most of you have probably never heard of this one, but I watched it constantly when I was about twelve or thirteen. It was a Canadian cartoon called Rock & Rule. It was a rock musical (hmm...maybe I'm putting this in the wrong thread!) with characters voiced by Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Debbie Harry, and Robyn Zander (Cheap Trick). It's completely out of print - not available anywhere on VHS or DVD. You can buy the VHS on eBay sometimes for like $200 bucks, but that's pretty much not gonna happen until after I get that visit from the New York State Lottery Fairy.

It's probably terrible - I haven't seen it since my parents old betamax VCR died and we replaced it with a VHS. But I remember thinking it was the coolest thing ever! I'd so love to see it again.

PS. polexia - the my little pony banner is totally the sh*t! LOL

I've never had the pleasure of viewing "ROCK & RULE", although I have heard about it.

Citizen LazyDolphin.....you may yet get your chance to! 😀
Using my trusty Knut-Puter, I managed to come across a website mentioning that the DVD release of "ROCK & RULE" is soon forthcoming, although an exact date has not yet been set. You can read for yourself here:

http://www.fast-rewind.com/

So, it looks like we'll BOTH be watching it soon. 😀

When you get to the site, just look up the movie's title in the movie list to your bottom left, as for some reason, the page won't let me direct-link it here.

Adult animated features are the absolute best! I loved "HEAVY METAL", although that's not exactly a Forgotten Movie.
