Favorite horror movies?

I didnt think so much of Emily Rose first time, but love it now... gets better each watch

Me and Insane Mystic are watching the remake of Hills Have Eyes atm

I like a lot of Vampire films and Stephen King stories that are made in to film. Salems Lot and The Fog scared me first time round. But if I had to choose I would pick: Exorcist, Psycho (the first horror film I watched as a child!) and It. Not so scarey these days Universal's early horrors of Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman, and Hammer's Dracula series with Lee & Cushing.

The Langoliers is okay, but the little girl in it is SO annoying, imo. And ofcourse it in no way compares to the book:)

The hills have eyes was ok, the mutants were abit over the top, i didnt really find them that scary, but i liked how the nerd ended up being pretty badass.

critters...to make Farmer Vincents fritters!" The movie is gory, but is also a parody of slasher movies like "Last House on the Left"........

Night of the Demons! That movie is awful, In the absolute best way though, lol:)
i Bought a film called "Cradle Will Fall."
Still haven't watched it.
It looks good, i think it just came out not tht long ago.

Ahh, *sips on his cup of coffee*, now this is my kind of topic!

My ultimate horror movie has to be 'A Nightmare on Elm Street'. I remember watching this when I was around 9/10 years of age, and there would be days where I'd find myself staying awake to avoid being chased by dream-demon Freddy Krueger. I was such a wuss! Anyway, that was the only real fear I've ever truly experienced after watching a horror film and I think that when you watch a horror film, you want to experience that fear that's hidden deep, deep down.

I am sad to say that I've never experienced anything like that ever again. While there have been some absolutely amazing horror films ('Scream', 'Candyman', 'Halloween', 'Audition (JP)', 'Friday 13th', 'The Ring (JP)', 'A Tale of Two Sisters (JP)') - and, consequently, horror icons - I feel that the horror of today is lacking and it saddens me. Aside from all the remakes we're now being forced to just sit & accept, I feel modern horror feels it has to rely on blood & gore, unnecessary sex and 'dumbing' the story down.

Now I'm sad! 🙁
 
I have way to many to name them all, but I love Scream, Nightmare On Elm Street, Prom Night, 1408 and Urban Legend.
 
Nightmare on elm street is the top for me. It remains eerie and creepy to this day for me. Even the musical score through the film (composed by Charles Bernstein) is unsettling for me.

I find myself feeling a serious generational disconnect from kids coming up behind me now (i'm in Generation X) who think this movie is FUNNY!? it just shows how times change. in a technologically "advanced" world post Jeffrey Dhamer, Columbine & 9/11 i suppose reality is scarier than anything a movie could come up with BUT Nightmare on Elm street is a modern classic horror film indeed.
 
I just bought a film called 'From within'
it just came out this week, my mum says it's soo scary.
but i don't know what her idea of 'scary' is.

The only horror films I enjoy are silly b-movie types and anything with zombies.
I absolutely cannot stand films like Saw or Wolf Creek. They're pretty pointless to me.
 
i've said this before, but Halloween is the only film that creeps the hell outta me.
