Favorite Shows That Didn't Make The Cut

What are some of the shows on TV that you really enjoyed, but only lasted a single season?

My one season favorites would contain:

1) The Dresden Files

2) The Beast (canceled because of Patrick Swayze's death)

3) The Forgotten

4) New Amsterdam (though I was initially skeptical of the premise, I changed my mind after Episode 1)

Studio 60 on the sunset strip
A sitcom called "The class".

I'm sure there's more but I haven't got my brain working yet.

All but Studio 60 didn't even get a full season.

Freaks & Geeks!! I was SO disappointed when that was cancelled, awesome show!
Yeah Firefly is a no brainer for me.

Birds of Prey was a fun series, but they got to wrap it up so it makes for a good mini series.

Point Pleasant was another I loved that had great potential!

And I'm counting Better off Ted, it did have 2 seasons but the first was during the strike so only 12 episodes and then it was canceled during season 2 after 12 episodes, so it only feels like it has one!

Firefly, for sure.
And I have to admit, I did get a little addicted to Point Pleasant... though I didn't want to. 😛
 
Happytown. It was such a good show, and there's still time to protest for a second season. I just hate ABC right now.

Yeah this is one I thought was cancelled way too soon.
I didn't watch "Firefly" at the time, but now I'm outraged that it didn't last longer than it did. Other than that, I can't think of any!
 
Young Americans is the only one I can think of at the moment. Loved that show!

I tried to start Freaks and Geeks the other and I was so disappointed with how much I just could not get into it.

My So-Called Life is definitely on my list. It was next until I caved and brought something much more expensive instead! 😛

Since you're only looking for shows that ran less than a season...

Besides Firefly, obviously, I wish Wonderfalls wouldn't have been cancelled. I know Bryan Fuller shows don't have very long lives, but really? The possible plotlines for S2 sounded so cool.

Sorry that Wonderfalls is all I can think of. I don't watch that much T.V.---not as much as I want to anyway.
 
Umm...Well, I can't think of a series I liked that only lasted a single season at the moment, but there are some that ended before their time. Angel was one of them. And Star Trek: Enterprise, which was only really coming of age and becoming a truly fantastic series when it was prematurely cancelled. Oh, and a cartoon series called Ring Raiders that only ran for a few episodes back in 1989 but should have gone on longer.
 
Firefly of course and the above mentioned Freaks & Geeks (big love for that show) and also above mentioned Point Pleasant, I was really excited when it came and though I was kind of initially disappointed I wish they would have given it more time to grow, it was an interesting idea.
 
Can't think of any that isn't already mention a few times already.

Journeyman, i loved the concept, and just found it really entertaining. Plus i loved the theme tune. :smile3:
 
The only show I was interested in and they cut it back was Joan of Arcadia..just two seasons. But it was cute, explaining God in a kinda different way..plus Amber Tamblyn was good in it, long way from the Janice days.
 
I know it wasn't the best show ever, but I really loved Moonlight. I know there were so many similarities to Buffy/Angel that it bordered on offensive, but it was well done, and enjoyable. Also, it was only just starting to become awesome, I wish it had have been given just one more season. Or at least enough episodes to finish the storyline that had just begun. Nothing worse than a show getting cancelled on a cliff hanger!

Yeah, I liked Moonlight, too. (You do know that Alex O'Laughlin is starring in the new "Hawaii Five-O" next fall, right?)
My so called life off the top of my head. I usually steer clear of one season shows until recently and that one I just wish could have had more. I have loved that one for a while and it is pretty upsetting when you think about it.
 
Flash Forward. Im pretty sure it won't be around next season, i think it got canceled. But man i was so into that show!!!!
