The Mayor. Definitely the Mayor *nods*. Who couldn't love an all out regular guy whose hobbies are miniature golf and cold blooded murder? 🙂

Although I hate season 7 generally I think The First is an excellent concept. Something that could be anywhere because it can take on any form of deadness. It's Buffy incarnation to mad Spike is lots of fun.

I liked Glory too but couldn't help thinking she should be a LOT harder to beat....

Hmm, think I will also go with the Mayor.
He is such a fun character, always so cheerful but still evil. Got to love that. 🙂

I like most of the big bads though.
Glory and her minions are also great fun.
Spike / Drusilla / Angelus is just classic. The personal connection between Buffy and Angelus makes it special.

It's only Adam that I never really liked that much, he had some speeches that just felt slow.

Could have just bumped the old thread since it's still active. And I might be blind but I can't see your poll.

My favourite is Angelus. Lets see if he'll win again. Favourite Big Bad?

lol, yeah I screwed up and sent the thread before clicking the "Add Poll" option. Maybe a mod can merge the two threads?

My favorite villain is Glory, by far. She was just so deliciously insane.

Runner's up go to Angelus, The Mayor, and Caleb.
Angelus was just so captivating in his true, undiluted love for evil and torture. 'Passion' is my second favorite episode, ever.
And yes, as sk73 said, his history with Buffy made it all the more interesting.
The Mayor was hilarious. I loved his interactions with Faith.
And even though Caleb was technically a minion, I thought he was super-evil and scary. I loved his accent, and his whole preacher thing. He also had some great lines.

I dont get how Spike or Trick are labeled as big bads, they were just villains. Anyway, my favorite is easily Angelus. He played the bad guy to perfection, and unlike all the other baddies, he was(until becoming) simply out to hurt Buffy. It was all personal. Whereas Glory just wanted to go home, Master just wanted to Rise, etc.
The personal touch made it much more gripping, it reeled me right in.

Well, my original thread was mostly asking who your favorite Big Bad or villain was.

Ok, well, after Angelus, it just so happens my favorites are Spike and Trick :) sunday was great as a one off villain.
Angelus. His attacks on Buffy were much more personal than those of the other big bads, and in my opinion he caused her (and the rest of the gang) more pain and loss than any of them. As other posters have already mentioned, the other villains wanted to kill Buffy because she was in the way of their objectives. Angelus' only real objective was Buffy, and the sadistic pleasure he took in ruining her life made him a truly despicable (I mean that in a good way) villain.
