Favourite Character=Hottest Character?

I saw this on someone's livejournal, and the results were interesting to say the least. Thought I'd post it here.

1. Who is your favourite character?

2. Who do you think is the hottest character?

3. Are they the same?

2. Who do you think is the hottest character? Buffy = Buffy // Angel = Cordelia

3. Are they the same? For Angel, yes.
 
Right on for me. Favourites are Willow and Spike, and I think they are the hottest of their respective genders.
I think most of the time it may be like this because all of the actors that are cast are hot, so I guess lots of the time
your view on the character will make them more attractive in your eyes, thus making them surpass the other cast.

It's Spike.

I have to say though, if I didn't like his personlity, his hotness probably wouldn't be enough for him to be my favorite. Second favorite possibly.

Hell, if it hadn't been for Spike's character development in season 5, when I saw more of the loving part of Spike(which made me like him, instead of dislike), I might still have thought he looked weird and off putting, like I did at first (of course, I was a kid when I watched Season 2, so that might be why I thought he looked weird).

3. Are they the same? Technically no. But Wesley is my second favorite with it almost being tied, so pretty close… But, the biggest reason I’m attracted to him is his personality, not his looks (though those too!), which also appeals to me on a favorite-character level. So I'm pretty sure he's not my favorite just because he's hot. If anything, I came to find him so attractive because he was a favorite and I paid more attention to him, if that makes sense.

Favorite: Willow/Fred
Hottest: Faith/...Faith
Most Beautiful: Willow/Fred

I see a difference between beauty and hottness... so for beauty, there's a correlation. Hottness? Well, I REALLY like Faith, she's just not my favorite.

OMG, this is so weird. I was just going to post this exact some thread! Creepy! I saw that post you're referring too, and it really make me think as well.

Here are my answers, and I'm sad to say I fit the "theory":

1. Who is your favourite character? Spike, of course.

2. Who do you think is the hottest character? Spike, of course.

3. Are they the same? Yes...

I like to think my love for Spike is based in character alone...but I'm sad to admit his dashing good looks might have a bit more to do with it then I'd like to admit...

Ugh. This just makes me sound like a "fangirl" with a heavy Spike-bias.

Agreeing with Sky, though. His hotness alone wouldn't be enough for me to choose him as my favorite character if I wasn't in love with his character as well. After all, Angel is my third favorite Buffyverse character EVER, and I don't think he's good looking at all (except maybe in 'Enemies').

Yes for Xander, no for Giles.

- My favorite character happens to be Faith. So, yes. (sw) But I didn't start to like her because of her hotness. She's been hot since BtVS S3. I had seen all the seasons of BtVS and she was never my favorite till I saw those awesome Faith-centric Ats episodes. 😉
 
I don't think I have a favourite character, maybe Xander or Angel. I'd say the hottest would be Faith though. So not the same. 😛

Yep

I don't think they're my favorite characters because they're the hottest; I think it's the other way around. I love their personalities and that makes them more attractive. And it doesn't always work this way. In Dollhouse I think Paul is probably the hottest, but Adele is my favorite character. In Firefly, Inara is hottest and Mal is my favorite.

I'll take it the other way around since that's how I am.

Are the characters the love I the most the ones I find hottest? Mostly not and in Buffy and Angel it only happens once. My favourite characters are mostly the ones I can either identify with or be attracted to in some way. And cuteness and humour attracts me much more than pure hotness.

I don't always see hot the same as other people. I can definitely see why Spike/James is considered hot but I'm in no way I'm attracted to him.

Hottest characters: Faith, Spike, Angel, Cordelia, Gwen and Buffy in the later seasons (and a few specific scenes in the earlier ones but not in general).

Favourite characters: Willow, Tara, Oz, Fred and Dawn. As Angel gets his own show he gets into this category as well. Oh and Andrew.

True, I can see when people are beautiful/hot, but that doesn't mean they do it for me.
Well much like real life, at least for me... When I am dating a girl or otherwise like a girl she starts to get prettier and prettier to me as my enjoyment of her and her personality grow and grow. The last two girls I dated, when I first started dating them I thought they were pretty cute but by the time I was full on in a relationship I'd noticed all the beautiful things about them and all of a sudden I thought they were both really really good looking.

Same with this show I think. I spent so much time enjoying these characters and watching them that eventually they just become more beautiful because of 'who they are' not just 'what they look like.' When I first started watching I thought Buffy was the prettiest girl, then in S4 I thought she became kind of a B word and she got less pretty and I started to really enjoy Anya because of her matter of factness. Then I started watching Angel and Cordelias new personality after becoming more of a Hero made me find her the most beautiful thing in the world. Then Angel S4 came along and Cordelia kind of sucked and all of a sudden I'm in love with Fred.


Overall though, I think Cordelia is my favorite female character and I do find Charisma to be the most beautiful of all. So... yes it works.

Then again I like Wes, Angel, and Spike as my top 3 but I uh... I just don't see them in 'that' way heh.
