Favourite father figure in a tv show?

I haven't seen a lot of the shows that were listed, (or don't know them very well), but I agree that it's actually hard to think of very many. 🙁
Here's what I came up with:
Graham Chase, (Angela's father in My So-Called Life)
Danny Tanner, Jesse, and Joey from Full House were all pretty great father figures I think.
Jason Seaver on Growing Pains was ok--not the best but pretty solid I think!
And of course Giles, up until mid season 6 when he was replaced by someone who looked and talked just like him, (with the exception of the end of season 6 when the original Giles made a surprise reappearance ). 🙂
Totally agree about Max from US of Tara.
How do we feel about Ward Cleaver? Yay or nay?

I just realized who I've been forgetting: Eric Taylor from Friday Night Lights. FANTASTIC father to his own children, and FANTASTIC father figure to every single one of his players. And a damned sexy man too. 🙂

echoing other people here- but yeah, I fully agree that Keith Mars is really awesome. I love him as a father to Veronica! 😀
I'm not that surprised no one has said this one given the weirdo history and stuff, but I actually think Angel makes a really complex and interesting father figure? To Connor and even to some extent to Spike. He's definitely not perfect and in some ways he's a terrible parent, but I admire his devotion to Connor and I think he's very interesting because of it.

I know he's not from television, but I always thought Juno's dad, from Juno (lol), was a good father-figure.
