Yay for celebrating LGBT characters! ::heart::
At the top of my head, I'd have to say Andrew. Because he's fun and adorkable and his sexuality wasn't overexposed so it was kinda cute.

Oh and Dean Winchester because despite the fact that he's a ladies man, his love for Castiel is the most beautiful I've ever seen in a tv show. It transcends(sp??) what we're used to see as love and it's so powerful! <3 <3

Less obvious, I'd say Stefan Salvatore because his relationship with Klaus can't only be "friendship". I mean, have you seen these 2 together????

I can't choose between all of them XD

Shane from the L Word....as she is just naughty naughty naughty but learns her lessons eventually kinda maybe lol. She is fun to watch.

she was amazing, but I prefer Jenny
Jack McPhee from Dawson's Creek; he was such a sweet guy and watching him come to terms with his sexuality and become comfortable in his own skin was moving. I think he shared the first male gay kiss that was televised in the US.

Nolan Ross from Revenge; his wit, intelligence, loyalty and vulnerability make him endearing. Plus his ridiculously colorful preppy suits and boat shoes are great.

Edit: I know its not a TV show, but Idgie and Ruth from Fried Green Tomatoes are one of my favorite couples ever. The way their deep attachment develops after Buddy's death and they build a life together was the sweetest.

Nolan's on the list of LGBT characters I love but didn't make my favorites list.
Marc St. James from Ugly Betty 😛 He's so sweet. But conniving at the same time.

sweet? ;) haha I love Marc :D and your banner is awesome
Yes I agree with Marc St James from Ugly Betty he was so funny he would be mega nasty to Betty at first but than grown to love her these two became brother and sister just the way they would fight and than love each other.

Maxxie from Skins (U.K) god I love him, he was so loyal to the gang (expect for one episode with Michelle) but he was always there for his friends, when Tony was lost Maxxie helped him and cared for him even though Tony wasn't gay they had a beautiful romance a bromance 🙂 I hated how his own friend Anwar was with him though cause Maxxie cared about Anwar and Anwar shot him down. Maxxie is just amazing 🙂

Cameron and Mitchel from Modern Family god I love these two I love how these two are together, Cameron is the fun, caring mother and Mitchel is the mummy's boy, tough and posh (snob as Cameron calls them 😛 ) they always end up in funny situations but when they are lovely dovey its beautiful 🙂

Cam and Mitchel are on the list of LGBT characters I love but didn't make my favorites list
Dana Fairbanks and Alice Pieszecki from The L Word, they're both really great, and funny.
Brian Kinney from Queer As Folk (US), he's hot, smart, mean but with a good heart.
Chris Keller from Oz. He kills people, he's a sociopath - but his love for Tobias Beecher was one of the greatest things on the show.

brian! YES!
Tara. Tara. Tara!! 😀 ::heart:: ::heart::

Okay, well Tara is technically my all-time favourite fictional character, so her being gay is just a bonus to this question. 😉

But besides Tara... I would have to choose Jack McPhee from Dawson's Creek. He was not only a great character, but his experience with coming to terms with his sexuality and coming out was very interesting and realistic.

Even though I don't watch Glee, the parts I see of Santana Lopez just amaze me. Besides Tara, she's one of my favorite lesbian characters! I just wish she were in a different show, lol.

Besides Willow and Tara, Shane from The L Word is definitely on my list. She's so confident, and cool, and sexy. She does what she wants, and who she wants. My favorite character on that show (besides Dana. 😉) I would say Jenny also, but that only counts in the first season, then she just went downhill from there. I related to her immensely in season one, and while I get that most fans hate her, I kinda loved her in the first season, because her life mirrored mine at one point in time.

I kind of hate the phrasing of "LGBT character". It makes it sound like these characters are separate to other characters, or that their likability is tied to their orientation. I know the thread is not meant that way, but it just isn't sitting well with me...

Anyway, to answer the question:

Omar Little

Bad. Ass.

Oh, Indeed.

Living Dead Boy
Oh that's a given. ;)
Buffy Summers
Buffy Summers
Michael K! I worked with him on The Road :) He's awesome.

Agreed with the first bit.
I've never considered liking or disliking any character by that particular criteria. In fact, I'm only aware of one person in any of the shows that I watch who is supposed to be bisexual, and that is Bo, the lead character in "Lost Girl." It's not a TV show, but somewhere I remember reading that Mystique, from the "X Men" movies and comics is also supposed to be bisexual.

Willow and Tara. They're my OTP!

But because this is a Buffy forum that was a very easy answer for someone to think of. Some LGBT characters from other tv shows that I like would be Santana from Glee. She's a complete b**** but she's also hilarious. My other favorite character would be Captain Jack Harkness from Torchwood (or Doctor Who, take your pick).

Bullying isn't funny nor should it be portrayed as such by Glee. I take much offense to you finding Santana's bullying to be funny

I agree with Zoe's comment above. I truly don't like the misconceptions that Glee is putting out about bullying. But I'm not a Glee writer so...nothing I can do.
Willow and Tara, hands down. They were persons, homosexual was just somthing they happened to be and I loved that the focus was never on that.
Don't get me started on Glee characters!!! 😛

Same! Don't get me started on Glee characters because I will not stop
First that popped into my mind was Emily Fields on PLL. I'm not that fond of her character, but I really love her coming out story line and how she even helps a girl who bullied her for being gay to come out. And then how comfortable with her sexuality she is.

Then there is Tara, first girl to make me doubt my sexuality (I mean just when she sings Under your spell, it's like, *Instant Lesbianism*)

Lily Aldrin, because she's hilarious when she has a girl crush (like on Robin).

Tomoyo, Toya and Yukito from Card Captor Sakura, mihihi    (because it's awesome to have homosexuality hinted in a 'kids' story)

Emily is on my list of LGBT characters I love who didn't make it to my favorites list... and Lily is so bisexual!

Oh yeah Emily! I don't like her as much as the others but I love her storyline :)
I have to go with Willow and Tara as well... Mainly because I can't think of any others at the moment.

My other favorite character would be Captain Jack Harkness from Torchwood (or Doctor Who, take your pick).

Besides Willow and Tara I can't come up with anyone else that can compete. I do have a lousy memory so I'm sure I've forgotten 10 or so.

Jinks from Warehouse 13 because if he hadn't said on the show that he was gay, you wouldn't know. He acts just like everyone else...because gay people ARE just like everyone else. I think we need to stop making shows popular who portray gay people as stereotypes.

^ I agree, I think that's another reason why I like Jack McPhee's character from Dawson's Creek. He's not stereotypical. He's just a regular guy, he ends up on the football team, and he even becomes a star champion. I hate stereotypes. 😛
