The network committed to it before screenplays were written, locations scouted, actors cast, directors hired. The network first agrees to do a show and then they make it happen.

Did they commit to airing the show or merely funding the pilot? This is not quite as bad as the movies where Hollywood buys 20,000 scripts a year but only makes 250 movies. You can bet if they are not satisfied with the pilot or sponsors reject it, they will not go any further.

How many shows have been accepted if specific improvements are made to the pilot. If the network thinks it can make a few bucks it

Don't know too much about the new cast. Think its on the writing though. The acting has never been what I come for these shows for. I will watch the pilot (same with the Roswell re-boot).
