I understand Season 1 isn't the most well received season of Buffy, however I feel there were moments in some episodes which hold true to the quality we got to see as the show developed. Normally fans always refer to 'Prophecy Girl' and Buffy's "I don't want to die" monologue, but I think there were some equally good sombre moments fans don't tend to highlight as much which equally show some character depth. For instance, I think Cordelia's mini-speech in 'Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight' is excellent. Up until that penultimate episode, we saw Cordelia as a shallow valley girl with apparently no tact and seemingly devoid of human emotion. But she reveals to Buffy how she "can be surrounded by people and be completely alone." I thought it was great to see a softer and emotionally vulnerable side to Cordelia which tied in well with the episode's plot. What other moments in Season 1 did you really respect in terms of the dialogue, acting ability etc?
