Forum Changes - New Descriptions

Please notice the new descriptions for the News and Announcements and Alternate Reality/Game of Life forums.

The news forum should now be used for current cast and crew of Buffy and Angel news. Articles and such older than one month should be put in the appropriate forum - such as a character, season, or Inside Out.

Also, please remember, if its an article but it isn't really news, don't post it in the news forum.

The games forum is now for games threads and non serious discussion threads (ie all those threads about Buffy-Boards members and such).

What are serious threads vs non-serious threads is completely at the discretion of the admins. Please post all the 'crap' threads in the Game of Life from now on to keep Caritas easier to navigate.
 
It would also help us a great deal if you would actually read the forum descriptions (and I know some of you do). We have been cleaning the boards today and a large proportion of threads are in the wrong forums.
 
its nice to see my thread about my angst at not being able to get tickets for glastonbury has just been labelled as "Crap" and dumped into the game of life. 🙄
 
Can't really say I like these changes..especially concerning Caritas threads..This forum was always known as one of the most helpful ones and by adding all topics connected with our daily life,problems etc. to game forum it's like they are not important..

And what the heck happened with the post count??I had over 6000 posts and now I have just over 2000?? It's not fair🙁

Also about the thing how you said if its a month old not to post there, well if we post something really really knew will you move it a month later?
 
Ok i'll try and address these isses.

Faldor - Your thread was moved because it was member related, it was not a serious discussion. But while I agree that it was not of the same calibur of the other threads moved it fitted in better as those threads were about buffy boards members, and that one was about your particular grievance.

ana8 - Caritas is not the board it is a forum. We are not stopping you from discussing those types of threads they just won't be in Caritas. We took this action because it was commented on by some how they did not like having to wade through all the 'junk' in Caritas to get to other threads. It seems we get it in the neck if we don't do something about it and we get it in the neck if we do.

There was also the other option which we did over at TDP which was taking the OT forum off the board, but this way you are still getting to have those threads, does it really matter that its in a different forum?

Regarding post count, threads were moved, we had a massive clean out on the boards, your post count is not the only one thats went down. Is post count that important to you, its only numbers?

Alyson - On the whole we tend to clean out threads from forums that are one month old and have not been posted in. So if a news thread is over a month old and still being posted in then it will remain. Its just getting rid of all the dead threads.
 
Actually I do cate about my pst count.Why couldn't you at least leave it at it last day point and then change the rules??That way it'd have been fair.I logged in here today and suddenly I saw I was missing 4000 posts..A really great feeling..
 
The mods were just doing there best They're right post count doesn't matter... its just a number The other members know your deticated to the forum no worries
 
Thank you Angelsbaby, its nice to know that someone appreciates what we do on the board.

I've been here from the start and my post count has dropped from around 2,580 odds to what it is now, its just a number.
 
I like the changes,I think things are better this way😀.You guys are doing a great job with the boards :: tu ::

Oh,one question,should we post the bday threads in TGOL too?

Yea I dont mind either, it confusses me a little but thats it.
And I wasent really awar on how much I go to Caritas, i dropped from 1100 to about 300 that is weird!
 
I understand all of this..But I still think it's not fair..I just need to think what to do now...
 
There's nothing you can do,just keep posting,it is not such a big deal😀...The boards are still great🙂

Sounds good to me. I'm still foggy about a few of the details though.

When you say "current cast and crew of Buffy and Angel news". what exactly does that mean. If Ripper came out, would that be news, because it's the Giles character. What if later Ripper moved to a new time on Sky, would that be news?

Would Firefly stuff be news, because of the Joss Whedon connection? What about Scooby Doo?
 
I know post count shouldn't be that important... but from being the number one for over a year, having over 6000 posts to barely over 1000 in one day?

I feel cheap!
I feel like one of those members who has joined but hardly ever posts...I dont wanna be like that, and you all know Im not...I spent a lot of time here, and its like I have nothing to show for it.
I agree with you completely, its just a number...but its hard to explain...
