Fred or Illyria?

Which character do you love more: Fred or Illyria?

Which of these two amazing characters portrayed by Amy Acker did you love more? To me it was just outstanding how beautifully Amy was able to bring both of these night and day characters to life. It speaks volumes about her acting chops. It is so hard to pick a favorite between the the two but ultimately I think I'd have to go with Illyria, she was just so cool, had so many layers, and so much potetential for growth. I love me some Fred too but my favorite Fred was always pre-season 5. That might've had something to do with Cordy still being there and as far being the only two female characters they were a good contrast to eachother. But in S5 Fred was just so nice and sweet that without that other female (I know they tried with Harm but just not the same) to kinda counter and compliment that she blended in a little too much for me.... until Illyria showed up then all hell broke loose in a good way, I just feel that character brought new life to that season. It was heartwrenching to see Fred die but at least with Illyria we got to keep Amy and still see "Fred" everyonce in a while. What do you guys think?
 
I prefered Fred, especially at first(before the whole Gunn/Wes catastrophe) but she was never a favorite of mine.
Also, i really disliked Illyria. Such a shambles of a character.
 
I liked them both equally. Fred was sweet, but Illyria was interesting. I especially loved "The Girl In Question", where Amy did the Illyria acting without the make-up. It really showed how different the two characters were, and how much of a range Amy must have to pull it off convincingly.

I just watched that episode an hour ago, top notch!
I love Fred! *points to av* She was just so timid and cute!

I was always indifferent to Illyria, really. I did think it was ironic that I was watching season five while reading Twelfth Night though! And my teacher got a kick out of it when I told him.
 
I can't decide.
I LOVED Fred, but Illyria made me laugh and was kind of a bad ass.
I liked the Anya type not understanding the ways of the world but with more "kick". It made Fred dying not so hard.
Plus, she's funny with Spike.

I loved the Spike/Illyria scenes too :p
The question asked who i loved more - that is easy - Fred is way more loveable than Illyria. But...... in a show about superheroes Illyria is just awesome. So even though I love Fred, I am a tad more interested in Illyria.
 
I loved Fred. Seriously, I was crushing over her bigtime and she looked so incredibly hot during season 5 (she gained just a little more weight and her hips filled out some more). The first time I watched season 5, her death rocked me (I was up until 2-3 am watching these episodes).

However, Illyria grew on me quickly once she began to try to assimilate in the world, with a even darker Wes helping. Some more human characteristics started showing and they even hinted that Fred might not be completely gone. At that point, I was SO excited to see how Illyria would develope. And then season 5 was over. 🙁 Man, that was so disappointing.

Anyway, I voted for both.

I love Fred the most. But I don´t think it´s a fair comparision. Considering how much I like Illyria (nowdays) despite her few appearances it´s not impossible at all that I´d voted for her if there had been a 6th season. She had great possiblities.
 
I voted Fred, I loved her character from beginning 'til end, obviously Illyria was a good character too but I didn't see as much of her as I would have liked (not in a gay way) you know.
 
I voted both. I think Fred was one of the best characters from any Whedon show but when Illyria showed up I was amazed at Amy Acker's ability to completely change her movements and style of acting. Love them both, can't choose.
 
I like them both... Illyria is great, confusing, interesting... But I think Fred was more complete as a character.
Anyway, can´t choose either. More Fred then Illyria, but not enough to vote againts here xD
 
Had to say Fred. Illyria was great and helped reinvigorate what I felt was a fairly weak season up until Fred's death but I think had she been around longer, I'd have grown weary of her personality. Couldn't get tired of Fred though. I didn't quite realize how talented Amy was until she began playing Illyria though.
 
I have to go for Fred too, as I have a major crush on her (and not Illyria ^^ ). Still, the smurf god was a cool character, and Amy portrayed the two very different facets wonderfully... so I would probably have gone for "can't decide" if it weren't for the crush factor. 😀

Gotta say both here.

The cuteness of Fred, the love-ability of Fred, the ruthlessness of Illyria, the logic of both, the physical beauty, need I go on?
