Gilmore Girls Waffle 3.0

That would have been a great storyline for Lane! Music teacher!

On a side note Keiko Agena still looks so youthful I find it hard to believe she's older than 25! 😛

Music teacher would have been perfect for her. Its a shame because up to that development in S6 I think Lane had pretty much been perfect throughout her run on the show.

She does look youthful in 13 Reasons, but it must be surreal for people who watched GG original to now see her playing a teacher in another show😉

Can we jsut deal with the fact that the "papple" and Taylor thing are like a 1000 times funnier than the standing Paul- and 30-something jokes of the actual revival. ASP really has lost it, her fans can write more compelling stuff than her in a mere tumblr blog.

This is why I kinda don't want a second revival series. Just leave it be, ASP. We can fanfiction our own futures for Rory & Lorelai and they'll probably be better.....

I agree the Paul thing was stupid. Rory should have broke up with him in Winter. Or better yet, not include him at all! But I actually like the 30-something gang jokes. I don't know why they would be so eager to have Rory join them but I thought it was funny. I even looked when Lorelai ran into the moms of the 30-something gang. Lol. The gay jokes were also pretty bad. As was the body shaming at the pool. ASP just had a lot of terrible and insensitive jokes.

Not probably, they will be. Lol.

I'm watching Gilmore Girls and just realized that Principal Charleston wasn't at Richard's funeral, but they were friends... pity.

Really? Wow. Haha, I thought the 30-something's gag was one of the most cringe-worthy things of the revival. It was just too obvious of a pop culture reference, there was no style to it at all, would've fitted better in a parody movie for me where you expect that kind of low-brow puns. 🙂 The Paul thing still makes me mad honestly, haha, yes, let's not include him at all because there was nothing fun about that joke. It just made Rory look terrible.

Lol. Maybe it's because the rest of the Summer episode was so bad, I had to find something funny. It may be a bit so subtle reference joke but I just found it funny. The 30-something actors I think just sold it for me. I like that the town just assumes Rory will join the 30-something gang. Although, from the revival I don't know why she thinks she's better than them. Lol.

Made some new DVD covers.

Just rewatching Emily's glorious take down of Shira Huntzburger.
Much as season 6 is far from my favourite season and I wasn't a fan of Richard and Emily during the feud... this was such an awesome scene. Emily rips her to shreds defending her granddaughter and all Shira can do is sit there and try to keep her composure while Emily assassinates her with a smile. Love it!

That was a great scene! It's why we love Emily.

Absolutely. I never realised, but you can really see throughout the series how she goes from Emily Gilmore: keeping up appearances, president of the DAR... to the bad ass woman who made the "bullshit" speech in the finale. Her character progression is probably the best in the show.

Yes! I love her bullsh*t speech at the DAR! she was the best part of the revival! You can see the influence that Lorelai has had on her throughout the series.

I actually don't think that was Lorelais influence. I have always seen very strong similarities between Emily and Lorelai throughout the series. My impression was that
With Richard gone, and her role that she had adopted all those years as society wife no longer needed, she was free to finally be herself . She was free to be EMILY, with no longer the need to impress or fit that image. Does that make sense? Emily was my favorite part of the revival.🙂

Yea that's what totally pushed her over the edge. But I do think that Lorelai had an influence on Emily. Lorelai can be blunt and outspoken, and Emily used to call her out on it. Over the course of the show she becomes more comfortable with it, and with Richard gone she just says eff it all. And she swears!

For me it was the episode "Dear Emily & Richard" that really made me see the true Emily Gilmore. Just a mother who always wanted the best for her child; so completely heartbroken to lose her daughter and granddaughter but too proud to say anything, and certainly too proud to attempt to reconnect. Her and Lorelai really are two peas in a pod, they're both as proud and stubborn as each other, yet all they see in each other is difference.
