I didnt think Aliens was scary at all.. I would compare The Descent more to Alien than Aliens.. if anything the awful sequel was more Aliens.

I hope (and really hope those hopes won't be dashed) that it's partly because the plot seems like it could be a bit original. Uncommon in the genre 😛

It's impossible for me to judge in this area as I haven't dabbled much in this genre and have never heard of 'The Decent'. The closest I've seen to this type of plot I'd have to say is 'Shutter Island' but that was more exclusively psychological whereas this film appears to have an even balance of both psychological and horror.

Again I concur with you. Usually trailers don't capture my attention until they contain more plot suggestion but this was an exception, particularly Charisma's performance. Possibly a type cast because it seems similiar to the Jordy/Connor storyline in AtS with the psychological mind****ing having been cranked up 20 times but there is nothing wrong with that, in fact, it come across to me like it's a role that will really be allowing her talents to come through which I appreciate.

It seems pretty much finished so it'd be a shame if it just ended up sitting on a shelf somewhere after all that work had gone into it.

It's listed as "Completed" on Charisma's IMDB though she once tweeted that she's known her IMDB page to display inaccuracies.
