Go ask Malice.

I just checked the book, she asks for a ticket to Sunnydale, but the guy at the desk (or whatever) says that the money she has will only get her as far as New york...

So I am right : king : *stares at everyones shocked faces* So!!! lets get someone to make the next Go ask malice style faith book! They could find another journal lol maybe she filled this one up, got to new york, then picked up another journal!!

That would be cool, it'd even be cool to read a journal of her time in Sunnydale, read her inner thoughts and perspective of everything she went through with the Scooby gang...

Yea ^_^ Was there a reason it wasn't canon?

It fit together pretty nicely with the canon backstory Faith had on screen.

I thought it did. Didn't it?

I don't know, I haven't read it. Probably won't, either - Faith isn't one of my favorite characters, and I can't really find much interest in her story. But that's irrelevant - it's not canon for the simple reason that none of the tie-in novels are. The only canon works are the ones that Joss specifically identifies as such; anything else is really just the equivalent of fanfiction, even if it is professionally-written. Doesn't mean somebody shouldn't read'em if they like'em (I've read most of the tie-in novels, but I can't say I particularly liked most of them,) just means that doesn't make them canon.

I've read Dark Congress and Just ask Malice, Just ask malice is way better not because I LOVE Faith, I do. It's because it's placed in Faith's point of view.

I would love any story that is set up again like that for a Buffyverse character. Not Dawn or Tara, haha but anyone else.

i changed the name of this thread to 'Go Ask Malice', which is the actual name of the book.

Someone misnamed it? I never noticed that, thanks!

Back to the why haven't they done another Go ask Malice style book!? Will they never do one again because god forbid they do the same thing twice, or may they do another in the future? Go Ask Malice is by far my favorite book 😀

Back to the why haven't they done another Go ask Malice style book!?

1. It takes time to write and publish books (well, unless - like in the case of Chosen - the publisher is so desperate to get one out that they dispense with actually having a writer do it and have a bunch of different editors and assistants split up the chapters so they can whip it out. And, of course, obviously don't care that it reads that way, too...)
2. I don't know if it's officially official yet, but supposedly Simon is dropping the Buffy novels.

Maybe not. Maybe someone will pick up the license who won't put the entire line in the "Young Adult" category and then see fit to have the books written on a third-grade reading level.

Yeah, I know, wishful thinking.
