So this thread is for everyone to say what they like about s7!! No complaints, only the positive. I just found we have too many negative thread about s7, why not make one about the good things!

So I'll start, I like Faith coming back and how they dealt with her character, like she wasn't forgiven, but she was respected kind of thing! Nice continuity there!

I LOVE Buffy as a counsellor, great comic relief there!

I like the Wood / Spike storyline, it was neat to see the repercussion of Spike's actions!

I really liked that they did end the season on a happy note, instead of having the series end with "Grave", which would have been somewhat disappointing.

I love all of the speeches that Buffy does throughout the season, they're usually extremely well written.

As you said, I did like seeing Faith come back. That was a nice nod to the series' original roots with the first three seasons.

I love Buffy's speeches :D
There was a lot I liked about S7.

I loved Angel's return at the end, and the final moments he had with Buffy. Within the context of where the story and the characters were at, I thought that was the perfect way to cap their own personal story.

I liked Spike a lot in S7. I loved him standing up for Buffy. His relationship with Andrew was just hilarious. His scene in the basement with Faith was excellent.

While it wasn't universal, I liked Buffy stepping up her leadership role. I'm certainly not saying it was perfect, but I liked most of it, and I liked her speeches too.

I thought Caleb was an incredible villain. "Dirty Girls" is one of my favorite episodes of the series, and probably has the biggest "oh my god, what the hell just happened" moments since "Passion". Interesting thought: I'd love to see a Caleb vs. Angelus fight.

I love Buffy and Spikes relationship (how he stands up for her and his whole speech in Touched especially)
I love the series finale and the finale battle (my favorite part is Buffys speech when they show all the potentials getting thei power)
Angel coming back

Buffy's spiral into insanity. Stress, malnutrition, lack of sleep, head injury, irrational decisions, hallucinations and finally her irrelevance in the final battle, it's subtle, cohesive and very well done.

"I killed Angel. Do you even remember that? I would have given up everything I had to be with- I loved him more than I will ever love anything in this life and I put a sword through his chest because I had to."

I'd been waiting a long time for this conversation. Totally worth it.

I'm actually quite a big fan of season 7; I prefer it over seasons 5 and 6. There are so many good episodes; lessons, beneath you, potential, LMPT, dirty girls, touched, help, him, CWDP, Chosen...plus probably more I have forgotten right now. For me it's the only season post season 3 that held my attention to an unwavering level. Plus I'm a huge Spuffy fan so I loved that their relationship took a more grown up and emotional spin.

I loved the first 7 episodes. I also loved the Dawn-centric "Potential," the Spike-centric "Lies My Parents Told Me," the Andrew-centric "Storyteller," the craziness that was "Dirty Girls," and the appropriate finale "Chosen".

As a supporter of the Spuffy ship (may her banners proudly flt!) I have to say that I am happy with the way that the Bangel/Spuffy question was left unresolved at the end of the series. There was something hopeful for both ships.

Yes, Buffy DOES sometimes think about that "happily ever after" time, somewhere in the distant future, but she never actually says that she only sees it being with Angel, despite what he or anyone else might have interpreted that conversation as meaning.

And, she's not ready for Spike to not be there, but she still leaves him o die in the hellmouth. She DOESN'T love Spike, but he IS "in her heart," whatever the heck that means, but at the end, she DOES love him, and says so. It's not her fault that she hasn't been able to convince him (or is he just denying it in order to make it easier for her to leave him there to die?)

She will never love anyone as much as she lovED (Past tense. Does that mean that she doesn't love him that much anymore?) and she's angry that everyone believes that she's STILL in love with Spike (does that mean that she once actually was, and maybe still is, but is just unwilling to admit it?)

She wants to "bask" in Angel's presence, but names Spike as her Champion (Is that because she sees Spike as the more heroic of the two vampires, or becaus she wants to send her beloved Angel out of harm's way, and Spike is only a substitute for her REAL Champion?)

No one can deny the passion between Buffy and Angel in that final kiss, but no one can HELP but speculate on what happened there in the basement with Spike after that last "fade to black" scene.

And other subtle and not so subtle hints, references, and questions left unanswered.

No real closure, no real final choice. No, "I love you, but he will always be the one who I'm IN LOVE with."

As far as we knew at that time, we would never see Buffy with either vampire again, but we were all, Spuffies and Bangels alike, SURE that there would one day be a reunion for our own special pair, and everything would all work out in the end. By leaving the question unanswered, Joss left both groups hopeful, and I have no doubt whatsoever that he did that on purpose, whether to leave hope for all, or merely to torture both ships.

"When I say, I love you, it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman."

Even if all of season 7 was pure crap, (which, IMO, it wasn't) it would be redeemed by that single speech. Although I'm annoyed at the popularity of said speech, so much that I've seen people who aren't even microscopic fans of Buffy tweeting it, facebook-ing it, pasting the speech onto pictures of Drake. *right?* I mean, it came from Spike people!

🙂

For as uneven and unfocused as most of the season was, the last five episodes form one of the best stretches of episodes in the series, I think. Adding in Caleb and bringing Faith back gave the season new life and something to do, which it had been mostly lacking up to that point.

Omg please tell me your kidding about the picture of Drake part. Nobody actually put Spikes speech on a picture of Drake right?

Ridiculous, indeed. oh my god i'm cracking myself up... that is hilarious...
Roughly the first quarter of the season is very, very good, before all the potentials came in with their "pitter patter of clomping teenage girly feet".

I recently re-watched Same Time Same Place and was surprised by how good it was, very amusing scenes with Willow and Anya ("it did get a little sexy didn't it?"), very touching scenes with Willow and everyone else. The other episodes at the start of the season are great too. I just wish the rest of the season had stayed that way.

I really like the first 8 episodes of the season. I still enjoy the rest, but not as much (with the exclusion of Storyteller, which I love). Overall, season 7 is one of my favourite seasons.
