Rosemary has lovely little flowers as well.
I think I killed any chance of having sunflowers, I put straight in the ground around the edge of my plot but forgot where exactly! So no doubt I've dug some up, trodden on others etc

Accidentally picked a pumpkin. They are huge and i just wanted to lift it to see if it was starting to rot and it snapped off! Its on the back table now. No room in the kitchen for it yet. Still got pears and apples to do something with. Maybe today.
Gotta start trimming the big firethorn back. Its growing over the road drain and i'll get a telling off from the shire if i dont deal with it soon.

Nearly payday, aka nearly time I can figure out if I can afford a shed base soon, not the actual shed but just the slabs for it go on! I looked at getting second hand ones but you can't tell in photos if they are textured or not, so going to go to a few places and figure out costs for the area I'm planning on doing.
My leeks need repotting and I'll probably sow some more as not all germinated.

Those glass greenhouses in the background of your allotment photos are so super awesome and I want one! One of those (maybe with a shaded half) would grow everything I'd ever need, and keep it all bug and weed free! Never seen them here. Before seeing your photos, I had only ever seen them in murder mysteries.
Filled the bin with a that firethorn today, now no room for actual rubbish ha. Easily another 8 binfulls there. I really should have got a ute instead of a wagon but dad forbid it. We get a free tip pass for garden waste so could have done it in two loads. Oh well. Its something to do every week for the next 8 weeks at least haha.
Chopped a bit more kindling today. Next big job is the front hedge. And I gotta pick the rest of the pears! My neighbour brought more tomatoes over for me today. He thinks the rest wont ripen now. Winter is here.

I could easily get one of those free, but they're a nightmare to move, put up etc. Plus my plot isn't that big so I'd rather get a shed. You'd like a potting shed, it's half greenhouse and half shed.

Snakes like sheds!
Had a sunny day off, and I'd like to say I got loads done, but no. I did get the new strimmer on it, and I eventually got the new greenhouse up, but about half way through I really struggled so bought a cordless screwdriver and when I went back up with the cat I got it finished.
I got some reduced marigolds as well, so they went in, but that was about it. I did measure up my patio plan, and got a quote from B&Q for it, I'll do compares before I order anything, but it's good to have a rough idea. I'm thinking of 9ftx5ft patio, which is quite large as I can only have a 6ftx4ft shed, but it gives me a little seating area and space for a water butt.

Weeds are growing well 😂 grass is coming up every where. I do love the green returning but am trying to kill all the badie bindi babies before they take real root.

Looks like it will be nice weather this afternoon so I'll tackle more of it then. I've worked out it takes me roughly an hour and half to clear one section, and it's only a small section at that! I have to do it all by hand as it's several types of weeds and just hoeing doesn't get them all.
I want to get the broken storage unit cleared out as well today, the broken greenhouse is in there and I have a lot booked at the tip tomorrow so I'll get that out ready to get rid.
My plug plants arrived as well, tomatoes and aubergines, but they didn't look too healthy so hopefully they grow well. It looks like rain all next week, so I'll wait for the next few dry days to come, then put the sweetcorn babycorns out, they've grown well so should be okay to go out.

You need to make the weeds useful! Like dandelions! They can be used as salad leaves. Just please, for the love of everything, don't buy dandelion seeds. (Yes, I have seen them for sale in packs of "mixed salad leaves.")
Omg!!! Why would they put dandelion seeds in mixed salad seeds! Thats just a dick move 😆 I used to eat the dandelions more than I do now. Im not as desperate for it now haha. I have so many other herbs, but they're all starting to go to sleep for winter. Dandelion live on!
My dog goes nuts for dandelion root. Shes taught the other dog to dig them up too. But I still have literally hundreds haha. The little seeds are quite sharp and get stuck on the dogs coats. Harmony chomps the flowers. I have tried to discourage it but she doesn't understand when I yell NO at her best fun. Shes gona eat a bee one of these days.
My leeks are looking good, the rain was good for them. I must go and check the pumpkins asap! Not now though cos its dark.
Most weeds are edible, but I'd rather have ones I like more! I did consider doing a dandelion syrup, but it's the time to collect enough to make it.
My leeks seem to have stopped growing, maybe I should repot them.

My blueberry bushes are turning colours. I am not sure if I repot the little one. The taller, newer one definitely needs a bigger pot, but the bed is really not far off being ready for them once I wheelbarrow some compost in. Its just a risk with bugs to put them in the ground so I am still thinking on this. I might do one more season in pots and look into ducks again more seriously next year.

Well I didn't get the storage until cleared out, but did manage to do another section of weeds. Also got the fushia planted out, so one less plant in the living room!
Meant to be a wet week so I'll focus on the currently indoor plants, repotting and sowing new seeds.

Whippersnipping and hedge trimming are the least physically taxing yet most visually rewarding garden jobs there are! Just finished the whippersnipping and it all looks so much neater with so little effort. So thats nice. Saw a legless lizard in the grass, that was less nice cos I thought it was a snake at first.
There are a few little baby pumpkins on the vine along with the big one, I dont think they are going to mature as the vine is starting to brown off now.

In between the rain today, I pulled up parsnips and rhubarb, so now to have a cooking afternoon.
Still loads of both left up there, hopefully I can give some of the rhubarb away as I'm not a fan of it really, but going to try and bake with it today.

Got the last of the pears off the tree. Lost a few to ringnecks but not too many. Nothing left on the apple or pear trees and the leaves are dropping now. Nectarine and peach havent turned their leaves yet. That peach grew more after fruiting.
Neighbour says he still has heaps of cherry tomatoes, I really dont need anymore haha. But I might run a few pears over to him and help pick tomatoes if he needs a hand.
Gotta trim the grape vine soon. Really should clean up the bed too, but not sure I will have the capacity to get that all done. Hacking away slowly at the firethorn still. Need to trim my jasmine back as well.

Going to have to resow a bunch of stuff, only half of my leeks look alive, and all the cauliflower looks dead! I've repotted the leeks that do look like they might grow, I still need to repot the celeriac as well.
I've finally got courgette seedlings growing, and proper leaves are starting to appear on my cucamelon seedlings so they'll need repotting soon too.
Thankfully I'm taking a bunch of the tomato plants and squashes to a plant sale on the 21st, so that will give me a little more space as I'm definitely running out!

This Gardening Gifts | Garden Twinning appeared on Instagram and im curious about whether I can do it with the allotment.
Nothing is looking too healthy at the moment, my crown prince squashes are droopy, the plug plants of tomatoes I got are barely alive, my repotted celeriac isn't happy, and I don't think my cherry tomato plants are growing. I repotted the cucamelon as well, so hopefully that will grow. The sweetcorn is on a go slow now as well, I was hoping I could put that out soon.
Oh and my plot is covered in grass so I need to completely dig that up.
