Happy birthday to Ethan Reigns!

It was a hectic day. I drove over to my girlfriend's place and we exchanged presents (her birthday is one day before mine) and went out to look at a ring that we bought together then went out to a late lunch at Congee Queen, a nice Chinese food restaurant. Then we went back to pick up the ruby birthstone ring (it had to be resized) and she went to get her hair done while I showered at her place then we went out to her favourite dance venue, Lago's, named after the Italian village the owner came from.

We had told everyone about this the previous week but I didn't expect what we got when we arrived. There was a birthday card waiting for each of us with a 50 dollar bill inside! The people there are so nice! We have become notorious for the way we always turn a merengue into something resembling a lambada (a very sexy dance). I also came up with some moves last year that added some interest to dancing bachata, so we are both known as innovators and when we are on the dance floor, everyone is watching us to see what we are going to do next.

My girlfriend was born and raised in Trinidad although her genetic background is from India but she had one German ancestor who left her with pale blue (almost white) eyes. She refers to me as her "white privilege" since when I come over, she is allowed to use a parking space at the back of her apartment.

Happy (belated) Birthday, Ethan 🙂

No, this is not an engagement. I made it very clear from the beginning that I have had my marriage for this lifetime and do not intend to get married again.

Our romance began when we met at the Grand Luxe (a dance venue) and she asked me to accompany her to her car, so I thought she was about to leave. When I got there, she said, "Get in." We talked about various things, but she invited me to dinner at her apartment the following Tuesday. My lizard brain went into action, saying:

Me want food.
Girl make food.
Me want girl.

Then she left and when I got back to the venue, the search party finally found me. My friends wondered what had happened to me. This all happened in March, so this is way too soon to be thinking about making anything official.

This caught me completely off guard. 😄😄
It is said that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach!

I don't know if they ever say the way to a woman's heart is through her stomach. Perhaps if they say the way to a woman's heart is through chocolate? Actually, looking at Valentine's Day gifts, I guess they do...

That's quite true! I'm sure @Ethan Reigns will agree.

I was thinking of writing a book called "Tales from the Dance Floor" but you couldn't describe the characters - the people I hang with are so strange that they would never fit in fiction. After all, fiction has to make sense.

Sam got me into the Latin dance circuit and he is notorious for having girls orbiting around him but none of them have stuck permanently, largely because he has no intention of giving that up. He worked as a hairdresser but gave up his salon and is now a mobile hairdresser for invalids and hospital patients just to keep himself busy. He made most of his money in real estate. He is a real ladies' man. He regarded me as his student and called me his "Junior Gigolo" when he introduced me in some places. Now that I have a girlfriend, he is jealous. I told him that he could have what I have if he really wanted to and he reluctantly agreed. He called me up earlier this week to congratulate me on our birthdays (my girlfriend had her birthday one July 30th) and Rosanna, one of the girls he hangs out with, said in the background, "Sam has been teaching guys how to get a girl for five years and (Ethan) goes and gets one in five minutes."

Some days, I love my world.
