I dont know why but i feel like the only person who doesnt like Harry Potter... I hope there are more people here who feel the same...
So let me know if u do...
 
I don't like the actual character of Harry Potter, but I sorta like the books. At least enough to need to read them as soon as a new one gets published, but that might be my curiousity as well.

Harry however is a whining little twat...oh I might have stepped over the line now. No but I don't hate him or anything, only his a bit annoying and boring.
 
i cant stand the books. ive tried reading them and they are just too darn long. i do, however, like the movies. but, not in that obsessive way like some people
 
i was never into Harry Potter until 'The Half Blood Prince' came out. i got annoyed that EVERYONE was talking about it and i didn't understand...so i went out and bought the book...and now i'm addicted!! (Don't you just hate it when that happens?)
i've read almost all of the books, and i've seen all the movies.
but, agreeing with JollyApe, i don't like the actual character of Harry, he is a little whiny!!
my fave characters are Ron and Hermione.

Eheh, happened to me too.. With Prisoner of Azkaban but still, heh..
I've never read any of the Harry Potter books. I did try to sit thru the first movie but I got bored so I changed the channel.
 
I like the first five Harry Potter books, but I don't much care for the character Harry. The sixth book was horrible, I can't stand it. And I think the movies are very poorly done. The only good things about them are Lucius Malfoy (Jason Isaacs) and Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton).

Which reminds me of the only good and fun thing about the Harry Potter character, the way he constantly decribes Tom Riddle as beautiful and how he spends way too much time, for a "normal boy", contemplating how Draco looks.

I know I know, I'm bad, but it is sorta entertaining.
 
I like the books, but I don't see how a cult-like following can come from it.

I find the movies crappy and disappointing. They miss out on chunks of the book that I'd like to visually see.
 
I don't like either, find it dreary and unentertaining. Plus Daniel Ratcliffe pees me off with his ego the size of god-only-knows.

I watched a behind-the-scenes thing on GOF a while ago and all the crew members say that Radcliffe isn't affected by his fame.

Your mention of Daniel Radcliffe reminded me about the worst part of the movies. Daniel Radcliffe can't act!!! You'd think with all the money he's getting paid, he could afford an acting class or something. Also, he really doesn't make a good Harry Potter.
 
I love the book series, the movies are ok, but I really prefer the books...I think the only things I really hate about Harry Potter is Daniel Radcliffe, Harry, the fifth book, and the fact that J.K. Rowling likes to kill people in her books.
 
Hm, I love the books... But I agree with some people that the character Harry is not the coolest. I used to hate him too. Now I think he's quite okay, but Daniel Radcliffe was just horrible (especially) in the first two movies.. Can't watch them because of that..
 
I love the Books, i've read pretty much all of them except the latest and i love the movies, I like the character harry potter just not really the actor, sometimes its like he portrays the character wrong... i dunno i wouldn't say i actually hate him.... just dislike him a bit
 
I've been reading Harry Potter since they basically were put on the shelfs. But I hate every movie they made. I can't stand anyone of them. When i went to see Goblet of Fire, i almost fell asleep. I just thought they did a really crappy job with the movies. So i guess techinically I'm a Harry Hater.
 
I hate it all.

I find the movies only good for a good laugh. I've never read the books...the entire world JK created is so not something I'd be interested in. It's silly and stupid. Wizards on flying brooms with wands and stupid, stupid names like Hogwarts and Slytherin and whatnot. It makes me want to vomit with the very thought.

So, no, I don't like a single goddamned ounce of Harry Potter. I don't like Lord of the Rings either, but that's a different story.
 
I'm so relieved to find some of our younger board members don't like Harry Potter either. All this time I had thought it was a generational thing and I was too old to get it.

I'm like VisionGuy, I tried to watch the first movie last week when it was on tv to see what all the fuss was about. I started flicking through the channels after about half an hour or so until I found something else. Then the second one was on last night and I thought I'd try again but ended up bored and watching The Sum of All Fears for the third time. Yep, it bored me that much. It just seems kind of puerile to me. Okay for the kiddies, but far too silly and overblown for adults.
 
I don't hate HP I'm just not interested in. I saw the first eppy in cinema just because my mom wanted to and I found it so so...
I'm the only person in my circle off friends who has not read HP. I tried to but couldn't go further than page 3....
 
oh, I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only person who doesnt like harry potter, never read any of the books and never seen a whole movie.... I thought there was something wrong with me or this was just some mind control that didnt work on me...:hmm:

Lol, um, you can't base your opinion on the first two movies. Honestly, they are both really bad. I hated them the first times I saw them. The third movie is better, at least if you've read the books, they skip a lot of the important details but at least it looks a bit better than the first ones. The fourth movie, even more like the third "“ they skip (or cut) even more, but it looks a lot better and cooler...
But without the books the movies aren't much at all really..
