I was searching for Harry Potter topics, but all topics are in cemetery.

So, who loves Harry Potter books here? 🙂

HP was my first love. Before Buffy, before Twilight. HP were a big part of my childhood. Like one Facebook group said: "Finishing Harry Potter 7 is like Destroying the 7th Horcrux of my childhood"

I have some questions:

1. Your favorite book?
2. And favorite movie?
3. Who was your favorite character?
4. Your favorite quote?
5. Favorite couple?
6. What things or what moments you don't like?

1. Your favorite book?
The Neverending Story

2. And favorite movie?
Difficult, I'ma have to say Ghostbusters BUT I'll be kicking myself in a minute.

3. Who was your favorite character?

4. Your favorite quote?
I'm torn between 3

'I'll tell you something Doctor, something I've never told you before. I think you're wrong'
- Donna to The Doctor in The Doctors Daughter

I'm the Doctor, I'm a Time-Lord. I'm from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous. I'm 903 years old and i'm the man who is going to save your lives and all 6 billion people on the planet below...you got a problem with that?
- The Doctor

A stupid man's report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.
-Bertrand Russell

6. What things or what moments you don't like?
In my life, when I'm alone and the powers out - in life in general, when people kill people, that makes me sad.

Really Al? play nice now. 🙂

I'm not a huge HP fan...the 7th book has been sitting on my shelf to be read since it came out...I still haven't bothered to read it.

I did love the Prisoner of Azkaban though...I enjoyed that more than the other books. The 6th book would probably by my second favourite.

I'm not crazy about the movies though. Never took to them.

Ohh you meant Harry Potter!

1. Your favorite book?
The Prisoner of Azkaban. I loved the first 2 and the 4th book, 5 - 7 were OK but too long without enough going on but PoA was just absolutely awesome and really scary.

2. And favorite movie?
I preferred The Chamber of Secrets - it was darker than PoA in my opinion and it had more Julie Walters whom I adore!

3. Who was your favorite character?
Molly Weasley very closely followed by Hagrid

4. Your favorite quote?
Not my daughter, you bitch - I effen love that line.

5. Favorite couple?
Molly and Arthur - thats the kind of relationship I want.

6. What things or what moments you don't like?
In the film?
The moments when Julie Walters should have been on screen.
In the books - the moments when Molly Weasley wasn't there.

Ohh and the 20 chapters in Deathly Hollows where they live in the forest!

I have played nice - I answered the questions.
In general, why would ANY of my answers be Harry Potter?
Having said that, I have answered the question now!

Ohhh and I remember a time when Lyri hadn't read the books - I tried to convince her to read them!

Thank you darling:)
I've read the first 3 or 4. I do plan to read the rest of them; I'm waiting for the paperback boxed set to come out. For YA, they're actually not bad, which is amazing considering some of the crap the publishers try to pass off as YA fiction (especially Fantasy).

One of the reasons I like it is because she doesn't patronise the kids.

I find thats the biggest problem with kid lit and movies for kids, they seriously talk down to them.

1. Your favorite book?
Order of the Pheonix. Or Prisoner of Azkaban.
2. And favorite movie?
None of them.
3. Who was your favorite character?
Ron.
4. Your favorite quote?
"To the well organised mind, death is but the next great adventure."
5. Favorite couple?
Molly & Arthur (Mr & Mrs Weasley).
6. What things or what moments you don't like?
Ron & Lavender; certain people dying; the fact that Wormtail & Remus didn't have a massive fight at the end (was anyone else expecting that, what with Wormtail's silver hand and all??)

1. Your favorite book? Prisoner of Azkaban, closely followed by The Philosopher's Stone
2. And favorite movie? The Order of The Phoenix (now with 97% less whiny Harry) and Prisoner of Azkaban
3. Who was your favorite character? Remus Lupin, Tonks, Fred and George Weasley. All of the Weasleys, really, except for Ginny. I can't stand that girl.
4. Your favorite quote? "You haven't got a letter on yours," George observed. "I suppose she thinks you don't forget your name. But we're not stupid - we know we're called Gred and Forge."
5. Favorite couple? Remus and Tonks, Molly and Arthur.
6. What things or what moments you don't like? Pretty much everything that doesn't happen at Hogwarts or The Burrow, so I obviously have a huge problem with the last book and that every one of my favourite characters is either
dead or missing an ear and a twin
by the end of book 7.

Big Damn Hero
I cried so much at your spoilered bit.
Ohh and by the way, anyone who cites the first book as their favourite BUT calls it 'The Sorcerers Stone' (and I don't care if that IS what it was called in your country) gets immediate neg reppage from me!

Not because you chose that book - FYI.

Big Damn Hero
I will join you on that. Also, I seem to be repping you a lot today. Don't let your ego get TOO massaged ;)
I just wanna add some more answers. 😛

- The Deathly Hallows
2. Your least favorite book?
- The Order of Phoenix. It's too long and made me sleepy.
3. And favorite movie?
- The Order of Phoenix
4. And least favorite movie?
- The Prizoner of Azkaban. It's too short, the storyline was changed a little and the end was crap.

- Luna Lovegood and Fleur Delacour
6. Who was your least favorite character?
- Nobody
7. Your favorite quote?
- That Holy(Hole-y) ears quote ^^

Hun, I think the questions were about the HP series ;)
I'd forgotten about Harry Potter, it was my favourite series before I found BTVS too. Actually, it's how I found BB (I was a member of harrypotter-boards.com, so when I got into Buffy I thought 'hey, maybe it's a pattern'). My first banner was HP, my first fanfic was HP, great series that was 😀

1. Your favorite book?
That would definitely have to be "The Half-Blood Prince". I really liked Azkaban when it first came out, and the Order of the Pheonix was good, but when I was reading HBP I kept leaping up to the other books in the series because of how much that book encompassed them all. There were hints about that book in ALL of the other books, and I ended up re-reading the others along with it for that reason.

2. And favorite movie?
I'm not a huge fan of the movies, but I thought that they did the Chamber of Secrets pretty well (and of course I loved the first one, because it was the first).

3. Who was your favorite character?
Sirius Black, no question. I almost buried myself in a hole when
he died, I was hoping JK would bring him back sometime in the last book
:cry2:

4. Your favorite quote?
"The two of you could get yourselves killed or worse-- expelled!" -Hermione, The Philosopher's Stone

5. Favorite couple?
I liked Ron and Hermione, they were so polar opposites that they were cute together. I was a big Lupin and Tonks fan, too.

6. What things or what moments you don't like?
- Sirius Dying
- Dumbledore Dying
- The epilouge, it was so cliche my teeth hurt. I think I would have liked the book better if that hadn't been added, just ruined the series for me.

I so agree on your last spoiler. What a waste of paper!
I love Harry Potter, and I have great respect for Jo Rowling. That helps a lot when it comes to my fandom choices - if I don't like the person doing the creating, then I tend to doubt that the things I see in their creation are what they intended, and I end up liking it less. But Jo is awesome.

1. Your favorite book?

Order of the Phoenix, hands down. It was the first book where the adults got the chance to shine, and I loved it.

2. And favorite movie?

Probably Order of the Phoenix again. It was the best adaptation of one of the books anyway. I do like Philosopher's Stone too though, it's wonderfully quaint and Christmassy.

3. Who was your favorite character?

Albus Dumbledore. Not Gambondore...

4. Your favorite quote?

"It unscrews the other way."

5. Favorite couple?

I love Luna and Harry together, but I'm not in a rush to see them actually get together. I'm also a fan of Bill and Fleur.

6. What things or what moments you don't like?

In the movies....nah, it would take to long, and would be really unfair. In the books? I felt Goblet of Fire was over-long, although, I'd struggle to specify what to cut. I think perhaps some of the content should have been shifted to PoA and OoP.

I didn't hate the deaths. Don't get me wrong - I bawled for the whole of the final third of HBP, but I loved it the whole time.

I wasn't a big fan of the Horcruxes vs Hallows argument. It just didn't grab me. Individually, the objects were very interesting, but I wanted to find out more about them, not more about whether they should look for them. I didn't mind the camping though.

Allcaps Harry was annoying, but I get the necessity.

1. Your favorite book?
Goblet of Fire and Half-Blood Prince

2. And favorite movie?
Goblet of Fire - the screenplay was good and the triwizard tornament gave it a logical beginning, middle, end structure. Plus, Rob Pattinson as Cedric Diggory...bit of a bonus.

3. Who was your favorite character?
Cedric Diggory, no only joking. Snape is my favourite character.

4. Your favorite quote?
"Cedric Diggory was an extremely handsome boy of around seventeen. He was captain and seeker of the Hufflepuff house Quidditch team at Hogwarsts" GoF p.67

5. Favorite couple?
Harry/Ginny, Snape/Lily and Hermione/Draco (if only...)

6. What things or what moments you don't like?
When Cedric Dies 🙁
When Snape dies 🙁
That freaking Epilogue! - she should have thrown us a curveball, something totally unexpected that made us all go "what the...?" instead of the stereotypical happy ever after.

In fairness you don't write a story for other people you write it for yourself and JK has often said how invested she is in the characters so its not a bad thing that she wants a happy ever after.

I agree with your first point, but I don't think that was her reasoning on the second. She's shown she's more than willing to sacrifice characters she loves - Tonks and Remus, anyone? I think she's more loyal to her themes than her characters. The ultimate conclusion for Harry had to be a boring, clichéd life. That's where she was always taking him. The whole series has been based on the foundation of "Love", especially that of parents. To end with Harry experiencing this Love first-hand was a perfect thematic circle - at least in my opinion. That's why I like the epilogue, and don't mind the sappiness. I don't see it as her indulging in self-gratification (although that is her right). I see it as her following through on her message, even at the risk of alienating her fanbase.
