Has anything scary or supernatural ever happened to you?

I'm pretty sure I've seen a ghost or two.... but I don't know if it was real or if it was my mind playing tricks on me!

Its very hard to say. I lost a brother about 7 years ago and at certain times I feel like he is with me or have done. And certain things happen that make you wonder, but there are always other explainations and its never clear cut than its supernatural. I'm sure she won't mind me telling me this story, but my Auntie believes that she had a supernatural experience with her late husbard. Where a book or something visable dropped off a shelf with no one touching it or any wind or anything to move it. So you do wonder.

On only a few hundred occasions and a few times both. What I love is the so called experts saying stuff you know is wrong.

Not a thing. I do wonder if you believe in the supernatural it's more likely to happen, and those that don't believe in it won't see it.

When I was a kid I had a toy dog that (when you switched it on) would bark and walk forward. It was sitting on a shelf in my bedroom one day when my sister and I were having a huge sibling fight about something and ended up screaming at each other. Out of nowhere the dog "came to life", started barking and walked forward right off the shelf and fell onto the floor. We both stared at it for a second and then I picked it up to investigate and it was switched "off". This never happened before or since and we are convinced the "negative energy" of our argument - or something along those lines - caused something to happen.

😱😱😱

That toy dog was probably possessed
Yes, and one incident was so scary that I had nightmares about it for many years after.

That said, the horrors on Buffy the Vampire Slayer remind me more of mundane horrors, like the helpful man who seems friendly who then becomes vicious, rather than the scary supernatural (or whatever it was) stuff to have happened. Most of the paranormal stuff (more than one over the years) were more puzzling than anything.

I'm not going to talk about it though, other than to point out that Buffy didn't remind me of any of those incidents, not even the scary ones.

I believe in these things but unlikely as you say I never experienced physical supernatural situations like seeing or feeling a ghost/spirit. I would love to be more sensitive to this I am not. I however have some other kind of abilities that could be called as "Not normal thing" or (sometimes) "supernatural".

I've seen the Shadow People several times, usually when I was slightly under the influence. I think the mind is more receptive to things like that when you're...relaxed.
Definitely you have to be relaxed to get this kind of experience.

It would've been completely TERRIFYING if I'd been 100% sober.
I'm not even enough of a believer to call myself agnostic or atheist so I've always struggled with an odd thing that happened to me. My niece died at the age of 14 under tragic circumstances. I loved her very much and it was a hard situation for me. My first day going back to work I was driving on one of those clover leaf things that are entrances on to the freeway and these 2 white birds were flying beside my car. I didn't give them much attention as I was deeply sad. The second day they were there again and I looked at them and thought, odd, same birds as yesterday I wonder what is up, they look like something you'd release at a wedding celebration, not native to here. The third day the birds were back, flying right beside my car as they had for the two previous days and I thought to myself, this is really weird, it looks like they are doves and they are here for me. After that I never saw them again. It felt like a message to see the birds and to recognize they were a message for me. The only white ish birds around here are seagulls and they were not seagulls with pointy wings, and seagulls are more gray than white. Every once in awhile I tell myself it didnt really happen, or the birds were seagulls and I thought they were doves, or they were released from a wedding and just happened to disappear when I thought they were a message. But everytime I think that they weren't a message I have this little feeling deep inside that my niece sent me these birds even though I don't believe in an after life. I don't think I'll ever understand the event.

Priceless

I've got a lump in my throat now. I bet those doves were beautiful, thank you for sharing that story

That's a lovely way to think of it. Sorry about your niece. :(

what a beautiful event! What I'm afraid this kind of things are more often than not to be those we want to explain as rational human more than superanatural and when you consider it makes feel protected or special because of that....

I believe in these things but it doesnt mean I dont have a rational part that always think of a logical explanation and when it doesnt fit then... I state it can be any other thing I can't understand.

I'm a staunch believer in the 'the truth is out there' thing, only with the supernatural, not aliens (though I find it hard to believe we're the only planet with a life form)

As for experiences, I count two. A friend of mine has plenty, she's a bit of a 'ghost whisperer', but I wasn't around for them, so...

When I was around 11-12, I was hanging out at a friend's house. She had this big ol' boombox sitting on her desk, it was off...it was not plugged in and there were no batteries for it to run on. Yes, you guessed it, it started playing. Super creepy.

The other is less detailed, more a feeling than anything else. My love of music is larger than life, I wanted to be a singer for 18 years, it was something I shared with my grandfather. He'd always wanted to be a musician, but the age he grew up in and his strict family kept him from his dream, and instead he worked at a steel mill his whole life. But with me, he'd sing me lullabies instead of reading me bedtime stories, like he would my sister and cousins, cause it was a special thing between just us. He passed away when I was 9. Ever since his death, whenever I sing in an important way (live or with other people, not just alone in my apartment singing along with the radio) I get this feeling like he's here with me. It's very lovely and I hope it never goes away.

I used to live in a haunted house. I know I know, I'm a scientist who believes in the paranormal. I've just experienced way too much creepy shit not to believe it.

The scariest experience of my life is when I was living in a new house (not the haunted one), and I went to get my cat in the upstairs bedroom to bring her down to my room downstairs. I didn't turn on any lights since I knew she would be sleeping on the bed, so I just went ahead and grabbed her. As I'm walking out of the room, I hear the most horrendous freakiest sound right behind me. It sounded like someone gasping for air but really loud, and almost like it was their last breath. I completely froze. As soon as I heard the sound, my cat dug all of her claws in my back, she clearly heard it too. My dog who was sleeping in the living room woke up too and started barking (I didn't even know he was also upstairs). I was so shaken, I didn't look back, I just quietly went downstairs, my whole body shaking. After putting my cat in my room, I decided to go back up and check it out, turned the lights on, checked the closet and the washroom, of course nothing was out of order. To this day this is the scariest and most indescribable sound I've ever heard.

A definite one? not really. A vague notion of something being 'off' in a room or moving around then yeah, plenty. And on several of the weirder occasions other people jumping or flinching in reaction to it but seeing nothing.

I saw a shadowman wearing a hat, at my parents house. Me and my husband were staying over at their house. On this paticular afternoon, my mum and dad both had to pop out, to do seperate things, my husband was upstairs having a nap. I was sat in the living room alone, from the sofa, I can see the hallway and front door and the side of the staircase and the kitchen doorway. I think I was watching tv but from the corner of my eye, I saw someone by the kitchen, I turned my head thinking it was my husband, and started to say something like "hi hunny" I thought he was going into the kitchen for a drink but as I turned my head, I saw a black misty shadowy figure of a man in a hat walking out of the kitchen and walked straight through the staircase! What was even freakier, is that although he had no face, as he was walking through the hallway, he definitely turned his head and looked straight at me before he went through the staircase! I was literally frozen, I couldn't move or speak at all, I was in shock. I can still see him in my head to this day 😱
