Being able to handle a bow like that these days, proper archery as a hunting technique? my estimation of her has gone up, good for her.

Since I don´t know if you´ve read my post in the other thread I might sound like a broken record. I know this subject is way over my head, so if it seems like I´m stating my opinios as fact I apologize. Never my intent. This might not be helpful at all, but I´m giving it a try.

You might have misunderstood me. I didn´t say that hunters in general or even that Eliza thinks that way. Only that I got the impression that she thought so. Like someone thinks that smoking, riding motorcycles, getting tatoos or be into a certain band is cool. But it´t really nothing else than an impression. And lets face it, impressions are just impressions and nothing else. So one impression on one person. Nothing else, ok?

I know that there can be many reasons for her "result". But based on what we saw. Can you blame my initial reaction? Just curious since some people seem to think she showed great skill.

Errors occur everywhere ereryday. It´s just then it comes to the wellbeing of humans or animals I get more sensitive. I know the word "weelbeing" seems like an odd word to use since it´s about killing but you should all understand that I mean less suffering = good.

I think that being out in the wild/forest/nature is a great thing. More people should really try to experience that once in a while. I eat meat so someone has to hunt and kill animals. I just rather it is someone with the right skills to do so. I might be a hypocrite, but I just want as little suffering as possible. My granddad was a hunter. I never looked down on him or his friends. And elk do tastes good. This is just all about the feeling I got no matter how wrong it may be in the eyes of others.

Actually, I did read your posts on the other thread, I know where you were coming from and you stated it very well. I was attempting to explain, to a degree, the total experience and if you have never participated you probably would not understand. If you want to experience it without the killing part, take a camera with you or accompany a friend on a scouting trip.

Your feelings on the matter are not only justified, they are normal(I know, I was of the same thoughts for 26yrs) for someone who was not raised in the hunting lifestyle. The fact that you question things is great, you would be amazed at the number of people who oppose it without knowing the reality or the facts(In PETA's case fabrications). Now for the real kicker, you can shoot a bow and arrow without having to hunt with it, try it, Archery is a great sport and arguably one of the most challenging ones.

My opinion of her is *different*... not good or bad... just *different*. I still love her as an actress; I still love "Faith"! - I am still looking very forward to Dollhouse.

But the next time she aims that arrow toward an animal.... I secretly hope she gets a cramp & misses by a New York mile! 😉

My opinion of her hasn't changed at all, aside from thinking that she's a good shot. I, personally, wouldn't want to shoot an animal, but if she wants to, then good for her. Besides, it's not like she's shooting down endangered species.

Like her even more now, because she was up front about it.

I was into archery several years back, for a short time, but I never used compound bows because at the time my arm just couldn't take the shock. You have to exert a few dozen pounds of pressure on it to lock it back like that. Doing it repetitively, even 3 times, would be tiring. I've never hunted, but I could learn. My ancestors did it to survive, so I think it would come naturally.

Now if she was gloating, making it seem like she did it willy-nilly for kicks and giggles, it would bother me.

The stupid audience probably would not have booed if it was a guy celeb up there talking about his hunting vacation. She shoulda told 'em all off.

So, yeah, her hotness meter only went up. 😛

I don't like her any better but I don't like her any less either. Boasting about killing things isn't exactly the best way to gain my respect, but I don't know her, so don't have reason enough to care about her choices like that.

i've not read the thread on eliza hunting animals.but to be fair its something mankind has done well......... forever really so i voted don't no/don't care/other. it doesn't bother me that she hunts, she's still hot and an extremely good actress!

Meh. It hasn't really changed. I'm an animal rights activist but hunting really isn't that bad compared to some other things.
I still really like her and I'm excited to see her in Dollhouse. 🙂

My opinion of her as an actress hasn't changed. I still like her character as Faith and acting talent. What people do in their "job" and "recreation time" are separate.

Oooops I posted mine on the "animal rights disscussion thread thingy"
Naw my opinion hasnt changed in the slightest.I dont judge people on their life-styles,why should I judge a person I dont know? The woman gives me something from her acting,in her interviews I see an aspect of her personality that I really like and it humbles me to see such a personality in a "star",what Eliza and her boyfriend and other people do in their personal lifes is no concern of mine.Oviously if she or others did something that I was totally against like murder ;-} or hunting for sport or something like that then I would have problem with that but this I think has been blown out of all porpotion

I really respect her for being honest about it, especially when it seems (at least to me) like most of Hollywood would burn you at the stake if you so much as thought about a bow (or gun).

I've never hunted myself. I do think it's good (HEY! I like my meat!!), and sometimes necessary... for instance, DH's family has a ranch in Mexico. They take really good care of it, and the irrigation is great. As such they've got better vegetation than surrounding ranches, and the deer follow the vegetation. Problem is that the mountain lions follow the deer, and they're not picky about what they eat (sheep... cows... whatever), and that's not good for the ranch. Plus, too much of any animal is never a good thing, and in some ways hunting is a more humane way of doing it (they only sell a certain number of hunting tickets a year, and they make sure they have good hunters, and good guides so as to keep everything as quick and clean as possible). All that is to say, I'm okay with hunting. (Especially if I get meat out of it... 😉)

So basically, yeah. I respect her honesty, and I respect her for hunting... takes strength and patience, two things which I lack. 😉

I don't know. As long as she eats what she's kills it isn't that big of a deal. If she just hunts for the heck of it, then I'll be inclined to say something a little un-passive agressive.

Re:

I voted that I do not care. Not because I condone hunting, but because it's a personal preference that everyones entitled to. I myself would never wear fur, or go hunting...in fact I'd probably be one of those nut cases walking around naked with a big ol' sign that says "I'd rather go naked than wear fur". BUT, each to their own. I eat some meat, and some people would judge me for that...But it's my preference. I like ED as an actress, and that's all that really matters. Now if she pulls a Corey Haim and starts slurring her words on screen and performing like a drunken homeless? THEN I will pass judgement. LOL....

she hunts vampires right?

...I could give a rats ass if she hunts is my answer anyway. You think our beef grows on trees? ...hunting only means the animal lead a better life before it fulfilled its sole purpose of being eaten.

I agree! If people eat meat I think hunting is a muuuuch better way than how most meat is obtained.
Eliza in a hunting suit... as my opinion chaged...ummm...let's see... it must be hot lol

seriously though, I don't really mind that much as long as she eats what she hunt. Personnaly I would never hunt cause I love animals to much but a lot of my family actually hunt and I have no problems with it

i dont like the idea of hunting. but my view aint gonna change on someone who does it. what they do in there own time is up to them and no one else. i still like her.

As much as I am against hunting(horrible thing to do), I don't any less of Eliza. It's her own choice, and her own right as human to do what she wants. And it doesn't inflict her acting... So no
