like the thread says have you? how did it feel was it a trauma for you???

the first time i passed out, i was playing handball with some girls in school, before school started. and this one girl she threw the ball right in my stomach... i think the solar plexus(i think that's what it's called) and i culdn't breath or talk, and these two teachers came walking passed us and i couldn't say anything else than some whimpers.. and i sunk toghether, and i woke up and i had scraped my knee.. i was 11, and the girl she never appologiesed and i still dislike her!!!

i have more storys.. but i want to hear what others have to say first! 😉

shiz that sux........wow ouch!!!

I never passed out but I had a realy high fever and I slept for 19 hours without waking up, my mom was about to take me to the hospital but she ended up waking me up as soaking me in ice cold water to calm my fever down 🙁

man that must have been scary for your mom! 🙁and coold for you!🙁 i'm glad you woke up though!!! and that your mom is clever!
19hours, man that's alot of hours... man...

this other time i passed out, i had just taken a blood test and i got really dizzy, the nurse told me to put my head between my legs, (which didn't help) and this was the worst time i EVER fainted, cos it felt like i was falling untill when i woke up, then it felt like i was draged back to reality.. and it felt as if i was gone for a really long time! i had such a bad feeling in my gut when i woke up, that is started crying on my way out to my siblings and my dad in the car...

you had knee surury.. why??

i had to operate my ears three times i think when i was little, i remember when they put the gas on me too.. i don't really remember much though, but i remember saying to my father that i was not going to fall asleep, and the next thing you know.. i sawe him fading away...

the falling feeling is the worst!!

i have atheory on why we passout!(it's a part of my philosofy on the soul LOL) and it's that we pass out, cos there is so many things going on with your body, that the brain just have to shute the soul out for a bit(the soul is our awareness of things, when makes us who we are, it is our consciousness) LOL

thanx.. i think it's pretty good.. but i think anyone who's ever written something philosofical things that about their work- not that i'm a philosofer LOL

I have fainted SO many times! When i panic i faint. Its really bad! Also when i'm really sick i faint. It is actually kinda strange cause i now know when its coming so i can lay down and get it over and done with then get up and not be 100% but be ok, but still pretty weak.

I also get them ALL the time when i go to hospitals. They freak me out big time. I just have to walk in and I feel like i'm about to faint. I think thats from when my grandfather died in hospital, its an association thing.

poor dizzy that does nor sound good at all!! i'm sorry! i hate to faint so if that was me i just would hate it!! i can feel it coming to and i hate that feeing!!

i'm sorry haboit the hospital! and you granfather! its nt much fun to go htrought that and you have to get all fainty when you are in a hospital has well!

I guess I passed out kinda, I looked at the sun too long, so I couldn't see anything. I went up to a teacher thinkin it was a female teacher but infact it was a male teacher. It was really horrid. Another person was in the sick room with the same thing, HAHA.

I've fainted quite a few times.
I only really remember two times though cos when i was little it used to happen to me a lot. I was tested in hospital cos they also thought i might be epileptic cos sometimes i fitted too.

The two times i remember was one time when i was about 9, i was on holiday in gran canaria and i hadn't hardly had anything to drink that day. I was in a souvenir shop and i remember feeling really hot. I tried to take my top off but couldn't and was kinda panicking. Then my eyes did that speckly thing - like when you get up too fast and the next thing i knew, i was being caried out of the shop by my dad.

The other time was when i had a cold or something. But fainting is well weird!

The first time I ever fainted (as far as I can remember) was when I was 6 or 7 after my first-ever session of dental treatment. I got up from the dentist's chair, walked two steps and passed out into my Mum's arms. I came to in the waiting area and didn't know what had happened.

The last time I fainted was the first day of our holiday a couple of years ago when, unbeknownst to me, I had suffered a slipped disc (plus complications, as I later found out). I woke up after a very bad night with no feeling below my waist, panicked when I stood up, sat down again, asked Mrs P to get me a glass of water 'cos I felt ill and woke up again with my face embedded in the hotel carpet.
Chris was panicking 'cos I'm a lot bigger than her and she couldn't move me. Worse still, when I collapsed my face skidded across the carpet and left me with the mother of all carpet burns (ouch!) and more than a resemblance to the Phantom of the Opera (without mask). Not the best start to a vacation I've ever had😉. We had to write off virtually the whole holiday as I could hardly walk unaided - it was lucky for us that the hotel was really good. We're going back there next Spring to find out what we missed (hopefully there will be no medical emergencies this time).

first time i fainted i was 12 and we were at the historical docks at portsmouth (they have a load of 17th century Navy boats Pirates of the carribbean style) and i was on the dry docked HMS Victory (Lord Nelsons ship at Trifalga) and we were on the lower gun deck. i was lucky because i just went straight down and managed to miss every gun and canon ball in the area! next thing i knew a load of tourists where looking at me!

i'd been really ill the nigtht before (being sick while pissing is not a good thing) and hadnt had much to drink.

the worst part of the whole thing is just before you pass out you feel like you brains taken a 90 degree turn in your head!

Dizzy, it sounds like you get panic attacks, my sister used to get them, if you think you've got a problem talk to your GP 🙂

Why the heck were you looking at the sun?? LMAO

Thanks Faldor, 🙂 I think they probably are panic attacks! But its not that bad, I just deal with them.

Mr Pointy that sounds terrible!! What terrible timing and the pain from your back must have been pretty horrible or should I say the lack of pain seeing how you were numb! Very freaky.

I've had 2 almost, the first I'm not sure if I did or didn't, but something tells me I didn't, but here's my stories:

1st time: I was camping and we left some stuff in the back of my dad's truck(was like 10 or so at the time) so I went out there and was going to open the tail gate and jump in the back and push everything we needed forward(we figured we forgot some stuff cuz it was in the back back of the tailgate, me being the smallest got sent back there) So, I went outside and was opening the tailgate, and ya know how you lift up on the little lever thing? I somehow, while lifting it up, got a chunk of my hand(between my thumb and first finger on both sides, by the knuckle of my first fingers) almost caught in it, and it tore a few layers of skin off. I just shrugged it off, and started to climb back in the truck when I noticed my hand was bleeding pretty badly. I felt kinda faint at the amount of blood that was coming out of this "little" cut. So I run back to my parents and my mom brings me in the bathroom to clean my hands out(staying in a cabin) and started cleaning my hands out, and it wasn't until then that the pain hit me, and it hurt. I suddenly felt very light headed, dizzy, and there was a pounding in my ears where everything said to me was like through a tunnel. I remember my mom putting bandaids on and someone saying that I looked really pale, and the next thing I know, I was laying on the floor(a few feet from where the bathroom was) no idea how I got there with a glass of water being shoved in my face. After that, it was like bam, dizziness gone, pounding gone. very strange. I was perfectly fine after that....besides for the scars left there *shrugs*

Next time, My mom, sis, and I were at the mall and I generally don't eat breakfast, I'm just not hungry in the morning, so I don't eat. If I know it's going to be hours before I eat anything, I'll force a piece of toast down or something, but I was absolutely not hungry that day, so I didn't eat. We were in this one store and I don't remember how but I noticed a papercut on my finger and it was barely bleeding, and I remember it getting pretty hot in the store, but it's not unusual so I stepped into the hallway and I began to feel dizzy. My mom and sis come out of the store and we start walking over to the next store across the hall(not 10 feet) and I felt like I was going to fall over, and I remember calling to my mom and just falling to the floor. I never actually passed out, but I guess this lady walked by, who happened to be a nurse, go figure, by that time my mom told me to rest my head on my knees, which I was doing, but the nurse shoved my head down further, and I guess my mom sent my sis after a pretzel and water, and I was slightly feeling better when she got back, and I forced the pretzel and water down and was again, fine, alittle drained but fine. It's strange how the body works, so now I usually make sure I eat something before a shopping trip, lol

Yea, it was not fun at all. I ended up off work for four months.
I'm pretty much OK now but I still have to be careful with lifting and that sort of thing. The worst thing is not being able to pick up any of the kids now they're getting bigger 🙁, especially when they forget "Grandad has a poorly back" and hurl themselves at me...all hugs and cuddles have to be at their level.

I'm the Queen of Fainting!!!!I fainted every single time they need mt blood for tests, 3 times during vaccination...
Once I fainted coz I was stupid- spent the whole hour in hot water..I got out, dressed myself and fainted when walking out...
Another great story: when I was 12 I went for a month to somekind of hospital with school....They were giving me medicins in shots..Once they doubled the dose and the nurse asked me if I was OK.I said yes and started climbing up the stairs, suddenly I felt dizy and fell of....I sprained my ankle, had a terrible headache, but I didn't have to go that day to school!!!!!

poor MR. pointy, man my mom has back problems, and two or three times this happened to her too! she couldn't move her leggs! at all... i'm sorry! i hope it doesn't happen too you again!too bad that you still are not back to before though 🙁

wow alot of stories!! i'm sorry for all of your bad expiriences!

Dizzy/faldor: i didn't think of that, about panic attacs!!!

before when ever i had fainted or almost fainted.. i got so scared it would happen again that i would think that it was coming as fast as i did anything "drastic" like getting up to fats, or wll yeah something like that!

Trustno1: yea, she is not the nicest person! i don't think she liked me much either! cos she looked so unafected when it happend.. if i'd done that to someone else, i would have felt so bad, and i'd be the first to comfort and appologies.. but no, not this girl!!
i'm still afraid when people aer playing games with balls near me! i have been ever since, i hated playing football, vollyball, handball... my gym teacher in HS was pretty mean about it too, he used to tease me about it sometimes... he was not that many years older than us either.. i didn't like it! i remember the last year in HS we got a new gym teacher, but our old GT he had a gym class at the same time as we did.(we had two gym halls right next to eachother) this one time he pretended to throw a ball at me.. just to joke with it to the new teacher... the wired thing is.. i don't think he really tried to be mean, just that sometimes people know things like that, but they don't know HOW seriouse it is for the person who has a problem with it, or a fear of somthing!
