Here's another vent thread

Is he often there? I think you should talk about him to your parents, even if the risk for you is that he has the typical reaction I've been so many time confronted to: making him mad because "he was just kidding and blablabla". Honestly, when there is an insistent guy and I complain to someone else, the guys goes "you overreact, don't have humour sense and I didn't do anything. I was just teasing."
Last insistant guy I knew started following me in the streets even tough I made it clear I didn't want anything to do with him. He grasped me(that's the thing not to do, I never punch unless physical contact is initiated) so I punched him, shouting "Don't touch me, don't come to me, don't come any close to me or I will seriously damage you!". Never had any problem with him anymore, he stays away.

I'm not sure your friend's dad is a perv like I've seen so many times, but you really should talk about it to someone, he sounds like a creeper at worst, like an extremely annoying person at best. In any cases, someone to avoid! (and most certainly avoid to be alone with him!)

Ugh. I'm sorry you've had to deal with a guy that was insistent and following you. It's just creepy & uncomfortable!

My dad's friend even denied that he is a perv. But that doesn't make me feel any better especially when he didn't listen. I don't understand how someone could forget that quickly. He is definitely an annoying person. He talks all the time. He was talking to me. I just wanted him to shut up.

You can't be friends with someone trying to manipulate you like that, either make it clear to him yourself or confide in someone you know and can trust to help you out :)
My dad's friend even denied that he is a perv.

That sure isn't something to go by. Most people don't want to admit to something like that or something similar if they're even aware that others can see them that way. That's definitely not something that's always the case.

I know. To tell me that he isn't a perv, doesn't help or do anything.

That's right, a perv will never admit he's a perv, someone has to tell him he is one quite bluntly, otherwise he'll carry on thinking he's justified in his pervy ways.

Abbeycat, when he annoys you, are you alone with him? If so, how come? Where is your dad at that moment?
I'm seriously worried about that situation, I don't want you to get hurt in any way! Do you know basic self-defense moves?
It's annoying that you've talked about it and it didn't have any effect!

And the only reason I see why he could "forget" is that he wants to touch you so he forgets he can't.
And of course he'll deny being a perv! Most perv I knew had an attitude saying "I'm not a perv, I just like to tease you...or more. What's wrong with that?"

Just please, never let your guard down while with him, okay?

And if he touches you when you don't want to, just don't hesitate pushing him or slapping him or hitting him! I'm just afraid it might make him mad and that he tries to force himself on you for that.

Damned, it just drives me crazy! I wish you a lot of luck with that guy, sweetie, I really do!
Be careful!

I usually am. He is usually up and around early in the morning. I have to go to the kitchen to do a few morning chores that I do. I have to be in the kitchen for. Like taking care of the dogs meds.

I know he doesn't mean to be creepy or anything. He talks too much and he is really annoying. And he is also stupid.

In the morning, I'm alone with him because he moving around in the kitchen and etc while my dad's at work. Not even my stepmom likes to be around him too much. She keeps herself holed up in their (stepmom and dad's) bedroom. He (My dad's friend) has even invaded my stepmom's personal space before. So he hasn't just invaded my personal space but hers as well. I usually avoid my dad's friend as much as I possibly can. His work schedule varies. My dad & stepmom claim that he is a nice and good guy. But I hate being around him.

I don't know any self-defense moves. I know, right? It's like when I say something like "Don't touch me." The last thing that he should be doing is laughing. That's why I said, "I'm being serious." Right. That's what made me mad. Was when I told him not to touch me and he laughed about and didn't take it seriously. Then to touch me on the shoulder or something and tell me that he forgot. When it was only a minute ago that I told him not to touch me. Last thing you wanna do is deny that your a perv because it's almost like admitting that you are.

I won't let my guard down. 98 or 100% of the time, I'm pretty bitchy, mean and rude to him because he annoys me. Right. That's why I was thinkin' I'm kind of hesitant to hit or push him. Not knowing how he will react.

Thanks. I appreciate everyone's support. Because I know I tend to vent quite a bit about my father's friend.

lol. You sounded like Anya or the Buffy-bot in a way, when you're all "he's really annoying and he is also stupid." Made me smile for a minute. 🙂

I definitely wouldn't let my guard down around him, if I were you. Nor do I think that I would be so apt to hit him or resort to any physical violence, not knowing how he would respond to that. But, I do find it troublesome that your stepmom and your dad, haven't like stepped in at some point and told this guy to sort of back off of you and leave you alone regardless if they think that he's a good guy and he wouldn't really hurt anyone.

He's obviously making you feel uncomfortable in your own home and that's just, well...it's a little off-putting. That is the one place where you go, that you should feel safe and not bothered generally speaking. So, for him to be acting like that towards you and disrespecting your personal right to your own space, almost makes me feel uncomfortable as well.

Too bad it's not as easy as just putting the phone down and walking away for about fifteen to twenty minutes, like I did.

It is. Ever since he's moved in here, I've felt uncomfortable in my own home. Right, they just don't see it that way, I guess.
One of my sister's brother's died late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. He was driving home on his motorcycle from work (he had worked really late) and it had rained a great deal, anyway he hit a slick spot on the road and lost control of his motorcycle and wrecked. His injuries were so bad that he didn't make it, from the news footage show that we've seen so far it was a very bad wreck. They had family night tonight and she has been with them all day today, they're going to cremate him tomorrow.

He was only 44 years old and he left behind a wife, a few grown kids, and a couple of grandkids. The last time that I saw him alive, he was at my sister's wedding. He was actually happy and he's always been nice to me. Known him most of my life, I just feel so bad for my sister and that side of her family. It's horribly tragic and so sudden, she's not taking this that well at all.

I got home on Tuesday. Apparently on Wednesday, I got an ear infection somehow. I thought the pain in my ear from my flights the day before, so I ignored it. Well then it dripped down and caused a sinus infection. After THAT, some time between Friday and Saturday, the infection dripped into my stomach and caused me this horrible stomach pain. Sunday I went to urgent care and got antibiotics, but now I'm getting really bad headaches. Not to mention the fact that the antibiotics aren't working yet, so I still have all the pains I had before, only now plus super fun constant headaches. Today has sucked. The weekend sucked. Last week sucked.

BLEH!

I'm watching Supernanny. I love doing this because I think Jo (the Supernanny) is awful and sometimes it's great to get mad. This vent isn't about Jo though... it's about the dad in this episode. Jo told the dad to play a game with his children so mom could get a break from parenting for a while. The dad chose to play a game of "war" with his kids. This involved building a fort and taking the trash can to be a fake cannon and having the kids "kill" these imaginary people that were their enemies. The kids are 4 and 6. I'm sorry, that is NOT an appropriate activity and game for children that young. If we even TALKED about a game like that when we were little, my parents would have scolded us. Because killing people is WRONG. Jo and the mom should NEVER have let the dad play a game like that with his children... ESPECIALLY since one of the biggest problem those two boys have is violence. They hit and kick all the time. And ALL a game like that accomplishes is teaching the kids that violence is sometimes ok if the person is your "enemy." It also teaches them that killing SOME PEOPLE is wrong not killing people is WRONG. Games like this being played by children AND THEIR PARENTS at such a young age is why violence amongst youngsters is increasing. Bottom line: if you wouldn't let your kid watch a movie with it, don't let your kid play and pretend it. I mean, you wouldn't show a 4 or 6 year old a movie about war with cannon and killing would you? So why let them play a game like that? It's just not acceptable. Be a parent and think about what message you're sending to your kids AT ALL TIMES.

I dont know if you guys have heard but there was a 6.3 magnitude earthquake that hit a city in my country called Christchurch. Its time to sleep for a million years now!😀

That is amazing that you helped them out, although it's sad that it happened.
I'm really tired of having to defend the fact that I ship Bangel. I understand their relationship wasn't perfect, but were any of Buffy's perfect? Were any of Angel's perfect? And anyone who names their ship as perfect is lying. Because there is no such thing as a perfect relationship. They take work and can hurt you sometimes, but it's the end result, the love that counts. Perfect relationships don't exist because people are flawed. No one is perfect. Buffy was no where near perfect, and Angel has issues too, but they truly loved each other. Love like that doesn't die. And I'm tired of people telling me that Spuffy is so much better or whatever. That's, honestly, what YOU think. I'm not gonna change what I see. I'm not misguided. I don't trash Spuffy. I know there was something there, but I prefer Bangel, and I have my reasons for that.

Also, I hate how I can't type excitedly on my phone without a million typos I have to go fix...

And on that note my friend, I get tired of having to constantly defend Spike/Buffy because I've seen so many Bangel's telling me that Spike never meant anything to Buffy and she never loved him, because it was always Angel. We like what we like.
I just don't understand what happened. We were writing a scenario with my work group and one of the girls spent the whole time apart, brooding because she didn't want the story to be developped that way. Then, she proposed her idea and no one liked it. It happens when we work in group, it already happened to me and I don't make such a fuss about it.
Then the girl started writing because we were tired of writing, and she modified small details, small details, small details. In the end, the story we had written became exactly the story she proposed and we all rejected. I was way too tired too object, but I just don't get what happened, suddenly everybody was like "Yeah yeah, good good".

It just really felt like the Scoobies not remembering the Glory/Ben thing.

From now on, I stop helping anyone for school. I failed four exams (out of 9) while those I help, send my notes to, have none failure. It might sound selfish to stop helping because of that but I'm really fed up with working my ass, taking the time to help, and ending up being the one who fails.

I seriously cannot contain my rage right now.

I watch Buffy/Angel on Netflix every single day. EVERY day. I have since we got Netflix back in August. It's pretty much the ONLY thing I watch on Netflix aside from movies here and there.

GrrArghx agrees: They're taking it off Netflx April 1st.

I finally figure that out in another thread, lol. Which, this has now turned into one of my vents, to keep this on topic. It's just really kinda stupid, given how widely popular this show still is after it's long since been off the air.

I'm not sure whether I had a bad day at work or whether it just feels like it- I did about half of what I set out to do and I'm sure I'm going to be asked about it tomorrow, but it's a bit worrying. Last year I had some problems which led to me nearly leaving and this is how it started, with not getting enough done and getting stressed about it, so it makes me feel a bit unsettled.

S
soulunsung
Try not to be too un-settled. You did as much as you could do and did the best that you could do, so try thinking about it that way. The rest, you'll take care of tomorrow when things will look and feel better, possibly. :)
I'm trying to re-arrange songs on my playlist via my iPod, since yesterday when I sync'd my iPod to iTunes it transformed the playlist back to the original, so I deleted it and made a new one. Anyway, now whilst I'm re-arranging the songs it keeps messing up and putting the songs is a completely random order, which has never happened before. It's annoying 'cos when I've gotten them close to the original order, it messes up again. 😡

S
soulunsung
Ugh! Bad itunes is bad! lol.
Thanks Soulunsung- I think you're right and tomorrow should be another day.

It's also easy to forget that (as somebody once said to me) there's a big wide world outside the bank- the fact that it sometimes takes me until 8-9 at night to unwind means that I'm not always in the best state to think about the future, though.
