Here's another vent thread

Why can't people understand that when I get sick, I get grouchy? I don't mean to be, it's just the way it is. They do it themselves when they get sick all the time and I'm sympathetic enough. And why is stereo up so loud? I can hear it from all the way up here.

Oh god, please don't play the Jedward version of Under Pressure. Yhea okay, she is.

I hate being sick.

Sending you feel better mojo!
I found the perfect venue for my wedding reception, and the venue contact sent me the contract to sign and everything! I go to fax it back, but notice I have a new email that there is a date conflict. Apparently a few weeks ago, a colleague of hers gave a tour to someone who wanted the same date. They said they loved it and wanted it, but never got back to the venue with a signed contract or the money for the deposit - it is these things that reserve the space.

Basically, they want me to wait all week to give these people a chance to rent the place, even though by their own standards (contract & money) these people have no claim to the date!

Instead of taking my money, right now, and booking the place for sure, they'd rather track down people from weeks ago and see if they want it. This makes absolutely no sense, and makes me question why they want these other people's business more than mine. People say "Yay! Let's do it," and flake, all the time, which is why a contract or money is required to save the date. I know this firsthand because I used to rent apartments.

If they don't respond by tomorrow at 3, I can go ahead and rent the venue. But really, do I want to deal with people who treat customers this way?

I'm always amazed to see how non-pro-active and passive people can be! *rolls eyes*

Plus, I think I'm falling in love again but I kind of don't want to, at all.

It's more a gentle kicking of myself than an actual vent, but I let one heck of a bargain get away today.

I was passing some of my lunch hour in the classical section of HMV records when I noticed two white boxes marked at £30 each, which turned out to be complete collections of Maria Callas's studio recordings- 70 CDs in a presentation box. I decided I really couldn't justify it to myself (and more to the point, neither could I carry the box!) so left it there- and of course when I went back after work about three and a half hours later they'd both gone! Not only that, but I look the set up on Amazon this evening, and they sell it at £180!!

I'm not fanatical about Maria Callas, but I've been getting more and more interested in opera in the last few months and it would have been quite a nice way to have listened to a few more at a reasonable price- and the box in the picture on Amazon is beautiful.

Thats unlucky :(, I'm always trying to find deals on music myself including classical, but sometimes its difficult to know a good deal from a not so good deal
I don`t mind going to movies by myself. In fact, I`m used to it. Everyone has schedules that don`t work with mine and I won`t go with just anyone. Sometimes I decide a few hours before that I wanna go which is not a lot of notice for some.

But, mostly, no one EVER wants to see what I want to. Social Network, Black Swan, Fighter, Just Go With It, and today The Adjustment Bureau. Instead, I always have to compromise with crap like Country Strong just to have someone agree to go with me. I like horror in the theatre`s too, but I`ll be damned if I can find someone else who does.

So now, I wanted to see Adjustment Bureau, been waiting a long time for it, but the person I was supposed to go with decides that Matt Damon always does these kinds of movies - uh, he`s not doing espionage in this - and that IMDb users and such are giving it negative reviews. Who actually listens to those? Really? IMDb users?? Trolls with computers?? Make your own decisions; No Strings Attached was supposed to be HILARIOUS and I listened against my better judgement and didn't laugh once. I know I will love Adjustment Bureau but I gotta put it off again. Another movie I'll have to enjoy alone. Oh well.

Aww, sorry J :( I'm in the same boat sometimes too. I'd see AB with ya! I heart Matt Damon and Emily Blunt!

That's really shitty but have heart that The Adjustment Bureau is really good! When you see it, you'll enjoy it, whether you go alone or with someone else :)
I'm enjoying my new job, I am, but the travelling is getting to me.

I'm training out of the city and the journey is taking me between an hour and a half to two hours each way. I left home at 6.30am this morning and got in at 7pm. Yesterday I went out at 10.30am and got home at 10.45pm. It's wearing me down. :/

When I moved but stayed in the same high school, I had the same problem, it was really exhausting!
Ok, so this is just.... I don't know. I feel so bad. And at the same time I feel so, so happy.

As many of you know my husband lives in another town and we had planned to live apart for like 2 years. Now when I talked to my husband today he said that he's thinking about applying for jobs here if he doesn't get into the education he wants (not in the same town as me). That would mean he would be moving here this fall. This is not something I have known about at all before. I have a roomie now. We're friends (not from before but since we moved in together), and we have been planning to live here together 'til she's moving from here may 2011. This is my apartment, I'm on the contract and we got the apartment by my contacts. But I've always felt it's ours, we moved here together.

Now with my husband might be moving here this puts me in a very tricky situation with my roomie. It might not even be a situation, my husband is probably going to get in to the education he wants and not move here until another year when my roomie has moved out. But still, I felt I had to inform her about the situation, so she knows it is a possibility. So I did. And now things are sooo tense and wierd and I feel like the biggest jerk ever. I don't want to kick her out. I said that it could be an option that my husband lives somewhere else in the fall and then moves in here in january so she has plenty of time to find something new, but the end result was still that she felt very disappointed and like I was telling her it was mine apartment and like she didn't matter. I didn't want this to happen. Still, I want to live with my husband, and I feel I have the right since it's my apartment. But I feel like the biggest jerk, yeah.

Bleh.

sorry to hear you're feeling bad sweetie! *hugs* but May isn't all that far off... if push comes to shove, couldn't your hubby get a short lease somewhere else until your friend moves out?

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that bb. Hopefully things will start looking up and maybe your husband will be able to get into the education he wants. You really shouldn't have to feel all that bad.
I absolutely cannot stand it when it's people's job to help the patron's at the "help desk" in the library, but when you ask them to humor you and look something up a certain way they get all uppity like they know what "they're" doing and they can't obviously be told an easier or better way to look something up quicker and they either hand you off to someone else or just flat out refuse to help you at all. And then they act like it's your own fault, because you were the one daring to be difficult.

Like D at the public library here in the town where I live, I was trying to explain to her that in order to look up the particular book that I've been wanting to check out you have to go to Sherman's (the next town over from mine) library actual website, go through their card catalog online (of course) and type in the author's name and then hit search, then you would be able to pull up the book I'm wanting to check out from the Sherman library through the Denison library (being the library in the town where I currently live, bcause you can check books out from other local libraries in the same county through them and then send turn them back in through them as well) in order to be able to place it on hold for me and put me on the waiting list for when it's checked back in.

So, what does she do? Instead of doing it the easy way like I patiently explained to her, she chooses instead to tell me that it's not coming up, they don't have it, and if she's clearly not helping me the way I'd like her to she easily passes me off to someone else who can't clearly help me - so - I had to go through the hassle of finding someone besides D in the library to help me and when I finally did I had to wait an extra half hour and then I had to explain myself all over again and this person actually did humor and go to the Sherman Library's actual webpage and then looked it up through their card catalog, saw that they had it there and was able to put it on hold for me.

It took all of that hassle, which probably would have only taken about 15 mins if D would have just humored me and listened to me instead of getting all uppity like I was acting as if I'm being the difficult one and don't know how to look anything up. I cannot stand that woman, I swear. She is seriously rude and I think I'm going to speak with the head of the library about her. Guh!

My mother is on my last nerve sometimes she really irritates me. She seems to think it is okay to just be rude and start with me. Then she wonders why I didn't want to deal with her crap for a day.

I grew up in Philadelphia (the western, not-so-good part) and I lived there my entire life. I mostly relaxed and played basketball, minding my own business. But one day, a group of miscreants began to wreak havoc on my area of residence. The men and I engaged in a round of fisticuffs, and I didn't think it was a big deal at the time - it was no more than a brief scuffle - but when I told my mother she was terrified and decided to send me to California to live with my wealthy aunt and uncle.

So now, after a long flight (first class!) and a rare cab ride, I'm knocking on the door of a mansion, waiting to move in with a bunch of people I've never met before. I have no idea what's going to happen. 🙁

There is no, why are you terrfied thread so I always go here for the bad stuff.

There are tsumani warnings in countries that I know people in. Hell, there are tsunami warnings in MY country. Yes, New Zealand...if you don't know, and other countries are all under tsunami warning. Waves are supposed to hit my area at 7:14 tomorrow but I don't live near water.

I'm worried about other people. Indonseia are on high alert and one of my best friends lives there. I'm just scared.

THIS is freaking me out. I only just learned about the Super Moon today, and brushed it off and then Mum mentions about how the tsunami could be foreshadowing about what's gonna happen.

I'm in BananaBuffy's boat; I'm freaked out.

Oh also, don't you hate it when;

a) You end up realising you have a crush on someone you hate.

and b) you're too scared to do anything about it.

🙁

I love how people that are 18 and 19 years old still act like they are 14 and it is so cool to bash people on facebook and call them out. That is why I don't even give them the satisfaction of talking to them. Then they wonder why people never take them seriously that right there is why I never thought of them as my real friends anyways. Real friends don't take what you told them and use it against you or for no apparent reason put you on blast. Vent over now.

I'm so annoyed. I'm sitting in the car at the bank while my friend is inside. She never told me she was going to be longer than 30 mins like WTF who goes in the bank for that long and asks someone to come along for the ride.

Arrgh I'm especially angry because were supposed to go to the mall and it's already 145pm and she knows I need to be at work by 4pm. Now after the bank she needs to get her laundry out of the dryer before we even leave for the mall. Ugh I'm so annoyed and I am never late for work, I'm actually always at work 15 mins early. She is one of those people that doesn't care if she is late for work and it bugs me to no end cause I know I'm gonna end up being late today WTF mannnn

Why do people just not make sense? I don't understand. I'm thinking I chose the wrong boy. Devastated. I realise that was rather cryptic and didn't make much sense but whatevers.

There's an empty plot of land between the building where I live and the next lot of houses about 50 yards away. There also seems to be an invisible sign on this land saying "Dog Lavatory". I really don't want to have to stand and watch somebody's dog finish doing what comes naturally before I can get past!

This morning, I was the tram station and there was no tram yet. There was only one man facing the opposite direction. He started coughing a lot and then spat three times. There was a huge mass of saliva at his feet. Then he turned around and saw I was there. So he leaned on the wall and started staring at me like I was some kind of piece of meat. He stayed like that for a few minutes and then he started walking towards me, still staring at me. I put my "Stay the hell away from me or I won't mind kicking the hell out of you" face on and he backed off and stop staring at me.
I feel like, if I didn't have an attitude, he wouldn't have hesitated assaulting me. I'm not paranoic, I know a perv when I see one and this guy kind of looked dangerous.

That kind of thing happens so many times that I'm not even scared anymore. What really bugs me is that that kind of thing happens too many times. I think it's my human right as a woman to walk in the street and not having disgusting people looking at me like I was some kind of free-hooker. A girl who walks alone is neither a hooker nor helpless, we are not poor little things who can't defend themselves a bit. And sure at a time I would maybe have been scared in that kind of situation but now my anger is much stronger than my fear.

I really have a deep revulsion for human beings like that.
