Who do you think deserved being Homecoming Queen more, Buffy or Cordelia? Or neither? Was it best that other two girls won? And why?

I wanted Buffy to win too. But in a way, I think Cordelia needed it more. It's great that Buffy wants to be something other than a Slayer, she wants something else to be recognized for. But Cordelia needed it because it's the kind of thing she was working for her entire life. She's popular, she needs to know she's loved, even if she's not really, she needs those titles to feel better with herself. For Buffy it was a one time thing. For Cordelia it was a legacy, something she'd be remembered by. Buffy could pick up the yearbook one day and know she was in high school once. Cordelia could pick up the yearbook one day and know she was loved. Buffy was chosen for something. Cordelia needed to be chosen as well. It's true that she's won those things before. But that's why she needs this title. She's addicted to those titles, not to just one moment. It's sad that she needs titles to feel loved and popular, yes. But that's what makes her feel good. She said once that being surrounded by many people who don't really care what she's saying is better than being all alone. You could argue that, but that's how she feels. Being popular is what she knows by that time.
What I really feel is, for Buffy is not really important. Hell, she could be dead tomorrow.

I did want Buffy to win. I love her better. And Cordelia's dress was really ugly IMO. During the episode watching, I always root for Buffy. But according to what I said, Cordelia NEEDED it more.
Overlall, it was a bit ridiculous, it almost tore Buffy and Cordelia's "friendship" apart, they literally tore each other apart. But I feel that for Cordelia it wasn't ridiculous. Want it or not, she lived high school. She lived those stuff. It was her world.

That's how I view it. I mean from now, that I actually think about.

Well I kind of wanted Buffy to win because,
a) I was rooting for her to begin with
b) I thought it'd be good for her
c) I wanted her to get a chance to show Cordy that she wasn't a nobody etc

But out of the two I thought Cordy seemed like the one most likely to win as she was a more 'popular' girl in their school and had been for years.

In the end I thought it was perfect that neither of them got to win however, like stated above their egos got in the way and both of them turned rather ugly (in personality) in their attempts to win and losing was an excellent way of bringing them both down to earth again.

🙂

I was always disappointed in Buffy for using such strong language toward Cordelia (vapid whore)...it was a little OOC for her. Which shows how immature they were both being. Cord7y was never a whore. I don't know why Buffy would say that other than to hurt her.

It's good that neither of them won, because they probably wouldn't have been friends after it.

I was rooting for Cordelia because popularity was the only thing she had going for her at this point in her life.

I wanted Cordelia to win. She's the one that wanted to be Homecoming Queen from the start and had been campaigning, Buffy only wanted to at first because she was angry at Cordy to prove to Cordy who she used to be. But Buffy and Cordy are supposed to be friends at that point and you don't do that to a friend. Are they great friends? No. Is Cordy selfcentered? yes. But Buffy trying to steal homecoming away from her was just spiteful. However I love the episode and in the end its funnier that they both lose.

Buffy and Cordelia were friends? Haha when...? They might have been nice to each other at times, but I never really saw them as friends. I wanted Buffy to win but...in the end I didn't really care. They both stooped kind of low.

I wanted Buffy to win, it would have been nice to see her prove to Cordy that she had some serious competition! But i thought it was a good twist at the end with the other girls winning. 🙂

Do you think Buffy really had a chance to win? I mean as much as I wanted her to win and thought Cordelia deserved it more, and as much as I liked the ending which was BRILLIANT, Buffy was NOT popular. Even Cordelia wasn't that popular anymore, so she didn't have as much chance as those two girls who won anyway. But Buffy, she competed Cordelia and stole her votes even though she had no chance to win. She did say she would win, but did she really believe in it? Wouldn't it be better staying aside and let Cordelia have those votes so she would at least have a better chance?

I personally must say that Cordelia was more of a Homecoming Queen. I never felt it to be Buffy. She's an anti-hero to me, always has been.
