Hot Topic: Would it be unethical to use demon meat in the DoubleMeat Palace burgers?

Even if I was willing to eat demon meat, I'd be scared of side effects...like what happened to Buffy when some of that demon blood got into her and her mind was overwhelmed by the thoughts of others. And wouldn't it be something if people did eat werewolf (as is said to happen by season 5 Angel) only to turn into werewolves themselves? And that's before getting into the chemical compounds. There are even normal animals that can kill you if you eat them, or at least be very upsetting to the body.

I've always been curious about why the demons in that one dimension featured in Anne didn't eat the humans rather than returning them to Earth. Was it cultural? (Like to think to eat a human would taint them, and make them weak like a human, because you are what you eat? And maybe they didn't even want "human" to get in any other food they ate, so returned them to Earth.) Or was it something more pragmatic? (Like the meat too lean, and perhaps exposed to too many toxic chemicals, or even human meat just being disgusting and/or toxic to them?)

If you recall the actual story of Doublemeat Palace, Buffy made her most stupefying mistake when she found out that no meat was used, only fat drippings from the animal in a vegetable matrix. She could have shaken down Doublemeat Palace for enough money to pay all her bills and get her a full ride through university. If they stayed true to their process, there would be as little demon meat in the patty as there was beef so maybe there would be no problem for most people.

Depends on the demon. Those that are capable of "higher" thinking, as intelligent as and comparable to humans, no. It would be like eating a person, and not all demons are evil and deserve to die for the fast food industry.

Also, it would be disgusting, given that demons appear to have sickly green and yellow viscera that would quite likely taste vile and have awful side effects.

Something else to consider here. Most of the demons depicted on the two shows were humanoid, at least in shape. They had spoken languages, wore clothes, many used weapons, in short, they were people, just not HUMAN people, if you get what I'm saying. I don't think that many fast food patrons would be all that eager to eat burgers made from demons, just for that reason alone.

Agreed . Plus you thinking people would have found out . This is Sunnydale don't forgot . Most people don't know about Vampires or block that out so why would they care about what happened there at the Doublemeat Palace.
