How do you feel about Season 8?

I so verily agree with you.

I dug season 8, quite a lot. I think there are some pretty great moments in. The whole "Wolves at the Gates" arc, is amazing in my opinion. It's fun, fast and emotionally resonant.

My only problem with season 8, so far, has been these last couple of arcs (the least one specially). I didn't like the Twilight review and his motives seem kinda stupid to me...

But other than that, it's great to see all the Scoobies again, and I'm glad there's going to be a season 9... I can't get enough of these people, and as far as I'm concerned, the comics can go on forever!!! 😀
 
Well I would recommend reading them, try reading a few issues and see if you like it, if you don't feel free to drop it. Just don't bash it without having actually read it first, I made that mistake with the IDW Angel books at first but it turns out their far more greater than Season Eight but I'll wait 'till the end of #40 to decide if Season Eight was a good story or not.
 
Yes, read it! Hearing it is entirely different than reading it 🙂 I thought the same, but after reading both Season 8 and After the Fall, I think they're very enjoyable 😀

You're right. Most of those who hate S8 tend to be the ones who just heard about it from other fans than read it. When they read it, they end up liking it. Now before anyone gets on my case, I said "most" not "all". 😀

I've read them all and can safely say that they are really bad.

Angel after the fall was good until it became after that then it turned to shit as well. Now I'm hoping for the new Spike comic from IDW, I think it's the same writer that did ATF and some of the better Spike stories at IDW that is writing it.

While I like season eight I can and do understand the criticisms it gets. It is very different to the show but the whole point of it now is that there is a slayer army so that instantly makes the story bigger. That said, I hope to see season nine going back to the shows roots.
 
I love comics. I have gotten so much enjoyment from them and on top of that I have made so many new fandom friends too.
 
I was enjoying it, and then started to dislike it, and stopped reading it all together. THEN, I decided I better get back to it. So I started allllll over again and I love it. I think I must have just zoned out while reading back when I originally had because I think it's excellent. I just wish they would get rid of all the pesky slayers once and for all so that it can just be Buffy and Faith again. I want my girls to be special, not common.
 
I read the first one and found it to be a bit farfetched, even for Buffy. Does it get any better or should I not bother?

If you think the first one was farfetched then you will think that the rest is so far out it's not in this galaxy any more
I've read everything but the latest (#36), and I have to say that overall I enjoy it. That doesn't mean I like everything about it, but I don't mind that it differs from the show. It's a different sort of medium, which takes getting used to. I find that I have to read them twice or more to really get the whole plot. They just go so fast. As far as Twilight goes, I'm not sure what I think about it. The Bangley part of me doesn't mind certain aspects of it of course (heh-heh), but heck, I'm not sure I understand it yet. I'm kind of trying to reserve judgement until the end.
 
Well, I started reading the comics last week. Yesterday, I read "Wolves at the gate pt1". So far, I really liked Faith working with Giles. Dawn being a giant was...a surprise. But although, the "buffy feeling" is still there...something has changed. Maybe I will need time to adjust to the whole "thousands of Slayers around thw world" thing.
 
I've read volume 1. I enjoyed it. Rather different to the show (I mean, Dawn being a giant is sort of random and over 1000 slayers? wow. How many potentials did they need in one generation?), but I loved the 'Say it with me now: Fe Fi Fo...F***ing Fum'. I actually laughed at that bit.
 
The beginning of the comics was good. Wolves at the Gate was a good storyline and I loved the No Time for You (the Fray storyline) and then it started getting weird with Buffy getting the superpowers and then Angel showed up.

Don't get me wrong I like Angel...when he's on his own. The whole Buffy/Angel ship never got me so yeah.

But I do like Spike (and I happen to like Spike and Angel together because they're funny) so maybe this last storyline might do something to me who knows.

But I looove the covers!!! 😀

FYI: After the Fall was a very good storyline, I recommend it to everyone!!! And Spike: After the Fall, that one is pretty good too. Anything After the Fall...:tongue3:

Im actually really enjoying S8, i haven't a chance to read any of the "last gleaming" arc yet which should hopefully wrap the lingering questions from the twilight arc.
I dont understand why people think some of the plots are 'far-fetched'
The tv show was always far-fetched..
It was a tv show with vampires, zombies, werewolves, robots and every other super-natural beastie you could think of, and it came complete with super-powered teenagers.
What made it work was the people still felt real & i felt in the comics they more or less pull it off.
My biggest criticism would be theres too many different writers, meaning the arcs dont always flow into eachother.. too many cooks spoil the broth as they say.
hey its not an instant classic & obviously it will never be as good as the tv show, but its worth a read.
oh and im happy to see (or read as it were) that Dawn has changed from being whiney to kinda funny... MONKEY PAW!.

I stopped reading the comics not that long ago, the last issue I read was no. 35 Twilight Part 4, but I've been bored with it for a long time. I don't understand the story at all, it's to much of it.
I don't like Dander either, or that Buffy liked Xander, or did she?

I don't know, i'm just lost..

I don't think she really did, she was just feeling lonely and lost, & probably jealous.
