How does Everyone Feel about the Comic Continuations?

It could be that I did enjoy the first half and hated the second so much that it overshadowed it. But I can't remember if the arcs I liked were the entire first half, or just some of them, so...

It's probably the first half: the season starter, the Faith story, the Vampires/Dracula story, and the Fray story. The second half was purely Twilight-y stuff (and like 5 not-very-good one-shots).

I love all the comic continuations. I've been keeping up with Buffy and as strange as the 8th season turned out to be, I enjoyed it. It set the stage for so much expansion into the dynamics and the Buffy-verse itself that I wouldn't trade it in for the questionable storyline. I'm currently reading AtF because I never took the time to read them when they came out, and also reading Angel + Faith which I think is brilliant.

I'm really looking forward to reading the Willow and Spike arcs. But I have a habit of buying the volumes because I hate just going issue for issue. That of course requires me to wait for both of them to be published and sold.

I think that the comics are slow paced as compared to the TV series, the overall story line isn't nearly as interesting, the art doesn't really look like the actors to me, and the time between issues is frustrating. But it's the only source of official Buffy action available, so I'll just grumble softly and read it anyhow.

I read the comics out of loyalty, although not religiously but if i see it i ll buy it. but mostly even if i disagree with some of the plots in the comics (which I cant list because i dont want to spoil it for anyone) its still nice to know that the buffyverse is still continuing and existing 'out there'

The comics have grown on me. They aren't great and they don't live up to their potential but I have enjoyed some of them, am currently keeping up with them, and even occasionally look forward to them.

The first time I read s8, I thought the story went downhill pretty fast and I felt like Joss and Co. focused on what they could do in the comic medium rather than the quality of the story they were telling. When I reread the season for the second time I found it much more enjoyable; though still very far from my favorite comic.

S9 has been more enjoyable than s8. I've really enjoyed reading A&F and other than the cheap pregnancy story that opened the Buffy book, I've had no major problems with them.

One interesting thing I've found in the comics is that the characters I've found most interesting and likable, Xander and Faith, are ones I wasn't particularly fond of on the show.

I agree!! Thats how I feel about them too!!
But hey I'm happy its still living on somehow!!!

I like them, but I find them very hard to follow; maybe this is because I'm not a comic book person but I often find myself confused as to which one I'm supposed to be reading next, and which ones are canonical and which aren't.. :s
