How I Met Your Mother season 5

This latest episode was a real step forward! They weren´t lying when they said Ted had never been so close to meeting the mother before!
 
I'm confused. Wasn't this supposed to be the musical episode? Since... well, it was only in the end. It was funny, of course, since I love NPH('s singing voice) but I still feel a little cheated. Was I the only one who was reminded a little of the choreography of The Mustard Song?
As for the rest, I honestly thought it was a little bland. Ted getting this close to meeting the mother was great though. And I love, love, love they remembered the umbrella 😀

I agree, it was good, but a little bland.

Personally, I'm still hoping that her roommate/Ted's Wife will turn out to be Victoria.

I know it seems more and more unlikely, and it's not like I'm a hardcore fan of hers, but out of the girls we've met, Ted was definitely most devoted to her (that's eliminating Stella & Robin as we know that neither are his wife).

I agree, it was a dead ringer for the Mustard Song, I thought that right away. It was a pretty good musical number, but unfortunately, it'll draw comparisons to NPH's Dr. Horrible and Alyson's Once More With Feeling, and, well, there's no comparison...
 
Well I guess that both the mustard song and this one was designed to look like a classic musical number on the streets.
It's not that strange that they looked the same. Otherwise we wouldn't recognise them as a classic musical number...

Calling the episode for a musical episode is plain wrong though, not sure what that came from.

Really liked Ted's story in this one, great HIMYM storytelling.
Even with a glimpse of the mother, so exciting. 🙂

In Canada at least, they were not advertising it as "a musical episode". Plus, on some of the actor's twitters they told us it was only in the last 5 minutes.

I LOVED it. I did not think it was going to be Once More with Feeling material or something, because this was just a little treat for us. I'm off to download it on itunes. NPH is the best singer 😀 For the people who are on twitter, they probably saw my 4 tweets freaking out about how we had found out who the mother was. I think my last one was "Those buggers! Total fakeout 🙁"
 
I only heard it was supposed to be a musical episode and believed it. Yeah, shame on me. I have no clue how it was advertised though. Mh, I follow Alyson and NPH, maybe I simply didn't read them. 🙂
 
I'm not up to season five when watching through HIMYM yet, though I've watched through season four twice already, I think. I'm not sure, blame the stupid UK TV and me being too lazy to watch anything other than Glee online. Anyway, I adore HIMYM, and I've watched some clips of season five online, and I love Barney/Robin. I did before they got together, weirdly enough, and I swear I'm the only B/R shipper in the world. But, yeah, I love 'em. HIMYM rules. That is all. 😉

There are actually lots of B/R shippers (or, as they call it the BrOTP). I, personally, like them better as just Bros ;)

I'm a Barney/Robin-shipper the same way I'm a Sam/Jack-shipper (SG), I'd like to see them end up together in the end, but I don't find it especially interesting on TV.
 
This last episode was so awesome. Who haven't seen it, do it, right now. It's so funny, I love how Barney loves his suits 🙂 And the musical touch was the best, the lyrics are so amazing and funny just like from the song you just got slapped 🙂

Anyone see it last night? the guy that played The Mayor was on as the guy marrying Teds mom, cool to see The Mayor and Willow on the same screen again!
 
I thought I recognized one of the wedding guests from the "when's you're wedding Ted ?" montage. Sure enough, Thomas Crawford has appeared in Angel twice, as an Eater Demon in Slouching Toward Bethlehem & as The Manager in Waiting in the Wings. I have too much time on my hands.

Yeah, Harry Groener.
He played the same character already back in season 2 btw.

Really liked this episode, some funny and emotional stuff in a great mix that makes HIMYM such a great show.

And finally it was an episode that got the story going again a bit!
Well, nothing too major, but I think Ted is soon ready to meet his wife to be....
